Have stayed here several times in my camper van on a lakefront site. It's my favourite place it's a magical place a beautiful playground out of time. The staff are awesome, very friendly and most helpful.

Not cheap, but stayed several times now. On a hot day the lake side is just to hard to miss. Great facilities and even in summer not to packed. Easy drive from Taupo and on the route sh1 will take you. Friendly staff and clean amenities. Stocked kitchen , wifi and power. For all who comment on the noise of sh1..... Yes it's a highway going through the camp, but we had all the times we stayed a quiet night...if concerned ask for a place up the hill.

Love this place. So clean and spacious. The games room is great with pool, ping pong and other stuff. The kitchen is huge and sparkling clean. We've stayed there 3 times. Always great

Lovely staff, we arrived late at night. 11pm check in, we were promptly advised with the details of our stay and was given a afterhours pin number to collect the camp site information. We were located on the lakefront, which could definitely fit a motorhome, boat, truck and tent, tons of space for the family. It was absolutely amazing to fall asleep to the gushing waves and wake up to the most beautiful view of Lake Taupo. We must have left a door open in our car and our battery went flat! Within no time Darren was there to jump start our vehicle which took alot of stress off our shoulders, we were very grateful for him, such wonderful staff. Reception has alot of options to buy essentials if you may have forgotten anything. They have pamphlets of attractions and places to eat, otherwise you have the option of a kitchen and a bunch of BBQ around the site. We ended up wanting to upgrade our stay, even at short notice it was done within two hours so the room could be sanitized. While waiting we went for breakfast at the recommended places 5 mintues down the road from the Holiday Park. Best most efficient, One stop Holiday Park with all you need!

Stayed for the long weekend and enjoyed our time, site was super close to the lake and the road noise wasn't a bother could hear the water splashing more then the trucks. Amenities were nice and clean but the wifi was terrible although that's not what we were there for at all. Will definitely be back!!

Spent two nights in a family cabin. Great location and super clean including the communal toilets and showers. Close to the lake and thanks for the amazing experience.

Amazing place and super friendly staff. They welcome all and treat everyone equally. They have become our family's must go place for our holidays and long weekends.

Good range of birdlife. 23 species. Handy to lake (great swimming temperature). Road a mite too close for comfort but you get complimentary earplugs!

Decent park, we enjoyed our stay in late August. Thought road noise at the lake front might bother us so we opted for a hillside site and had no problems; we later saw they offer free ear plugs in reception. Still had a good view of the lake and were close to facilities on the hill. Not the best Top10 we’ve stayed at but it did the job. Large kitchen and lounge. Hosts were friendly and accommodating as we arrived after the office closed. Good wifi. Wished the path between showers, toilets and kitchen was continuously paved for safer walking at night. Also toilets and showers (separate buildings) are open so could be quite cold in the winter.

Great location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Well equipped clean self contained Unit. Great shower, comfy bed. Enjoyed the outdoor table setting.

Sunday, Lake front( and with the reduced speed limit) traffic noise didn't bother me. Clean facilities and pleasant staff. Hope to stay again.

Property is situated in a stunning location with beautiful views over the lake. Facilities well maintained, room was clean and beds nice n comfy. Staff were also really friendly. We enjoyed our stay and wished we had booked longer. Definitely be back.

We camped here for two nights while exploring the Lake Taupo area. We paid extra to pitch our tent right on the lake edge, and while it's pretty loud due to the highway being right next to us, the views were amazing and the facilities were great. We were put right next to the toilet block, but it didn't smell and was very convenient. The toilet block is very new and clean, with great shower cubicles. Great jumping off point to see all that Lake Taupo has to offer.

5+ stars for the location and the Receptionists. We got a Lake Front powered site. Wow such a beautiful location. The facilities were really great especially the 2 electric cook tops. There were 2 BBQ outside the kitchen. The kitchen wasn't as bug as other Top10 parks but for the night we stayed there wasn't any crowd so it was OK. But there is only one dining table outside the kitchen which wasn't sufficient at all. We had to wait for more then 30 minutes at 9 PM for a group of youngsters to leave so we could have our dinner. When we had our dinner other family had to wait for us to finish which wasn't really relaxing. Otherwise the way receptionist created us and explained us the facilities, the bathrooms and toilets cleanliness, the kitchen facilities were all really good we are gonna come back for sure to this place.

Love this place! Top service & lake motutere is beautiful

This campsite has the most amazing views of the lake but beware that the campsite is split by the main road and the lake view comes at a cost of the noise from the traffic. We moved into the main site which was a lot quieter. Overall it's a very dated site which is undergoing a renovation. Great if you have 50 kids on a camp weekend The facilities are fine and you have everything you need even if a little dated. Actual met the new manager who was a great guy with big plans so expect the site will get better over time. This site is about the natural beauty around it and if into fishing you on a winner

The service from the staff&reception was on point.Great team.Very helpful.very friendly. The cleanness is 100/10.Grounds look amazing.love the lake and how the local iwi look after their native Bush.I went kayaking was so much fun so nice and peaceful on the lake.I thought the old school classroom gave the facilities more character.loved the giant fork&spoon.Thank you julia & brent&drew for going the extra mile .I highly recommend Motutere bay Top10 hoilday park to all my family & friends.

Overall was a good place to stop for the night. We were right on the water so there were good views. The only negative about the place was that the clothes dryer didn't work on the water side. This meant to dry our washing, we had to cross the highway and go up through the caravan park bit to the other laundry. Not the greatest walk in the dark when it's raining and windy.

Great place to stay right on the waterfront. Very accommodating and great facilities.

This park was clean, tidy, had amazing views and friendly, welcoming staff. The beachfront sites had amazing views of Lake Taupo, and the kitchen was spotless. The location of the park, split by State Highway 5, was the biggest issue. The road is very busy, with large trucks going past every few minutes. With the beachfront sites about 20 meters from the road, and most of the park amenities (everything except a kitchen and toilet/shower facilities) on the opposite side of the road, the beachfront sites are not recommended for families with young children or light sleepers. This park is beautiful, well maintained and the staff are some of the most welcoming I have encountered. The internet is free, and the coffee from the coffee van is good. There is a lot to recommend it, but be aware of the location issues.

The view from our lakeside campsite on a lovely day is like no other! We loved our stay once again and the traffic didn’t bother us, but did find the toilets were cleaned often but not maybe as well as we would have hoped. The lawns needed a mow and the wifi didnt work at all for us but having the view and weather we did was not a concern this stay. A shame only one washing/drying machine was working while we were there as there was a constant line for washing. All in all it is a lovely camp that we loved welcoming the new year in at. The staff were nice and friendly :)

This camp was fantastic. We stayed in a self contained unit. Cleanliness was 5/5. Facilities in the unit were great. Had everything we needed. They had even heated up the room before we got there as it was cold outside. We couldnt fault the camp at all. Beautiful location. The staff were the most friendliest and helpful that we have ever experienced and we have stayed in a lot of motor camps. We will definately be back. Thank you for a memorable weekend. Loved it. If you don't mind the car noises at night.will definitely be back,but this time not so close to the motorway.

It was the perfect camping experience for us. The herb garden by the kitchen was a nice touch! Everything is there to cook & enjoy the meal, bathrooms were clean and with plenty of hot water, wifi was good, our site had plenty of room. Being just accross the streeet from lake Taupo, and close to many amazing things to go see at daytime - we loved it!

Really lovely place. Beautiful setting next to the lake. Great facilities including bbq, kitchen and radio playing in the clean and tidy bathrooms. Very friendly staff and good shop with anything you might have forgotten to bring :) Unfortunately quite loud being next to the main road but that also comes with being in such a good location so no complaints was a great stay thank you.

My family stopped after-hours on the off-chance of a cabin. We were warmly welcomed, and enjoyed our stay in the clean, peaceful and relaxed environment. Yes, the road was busy, but didn't affect our sleep or stay. Lake Taupo across the road was stunning, and we enjoyed spending time there before we had to continue our journey south. Many thanks. I have no doubt we will make Motutere Bay Top 10 a stop-over on our journeys in the future. Cheers.

Camping spots were a little lack luster but the camp are had a great set up with a kitchen and shower. Was really nice to get indoors to make dinner and use a kitchen sink. The grounds are really looked after. Will definitely search out this brand when looking for a little extra while camping!

You won’t get more lake side than the Motutere Bay Top 10, this place is incredible! Beautiful sites under trees, wonderful clean facilities (including a boat ramp) all set on the shores of Lake Taupō. Nice friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommend staying there if you are in the Taupō area

Definitely one of the prettiest camping views from a Top 10 but it comes at a cost. You're essentially right next to the main road so you'll hear cars driving by all night, if you're a light sleeper, you may want to consider not camping. The ground is also BRUTAL so good luck trying to get some pegs in. Other than that, we had a great time camping here and would definitely consider it again.

Amazing view if you are having a lakeside spot. However, this means you will have a very small kitchen and no proper indoor dining area. But the view is amazing, at that more than makes up for any issues we had.

Great service; pulled in after hours and easily reached someone on call. Lakefront Campervan spots were great views, road noise was a bit loud overnight. Clean restrooms.

Cabins were good with most things you could want. Bed was comfy. The showers were a bit of a walk. The place lends itself to self catering as the nearest restaurants are a 15 minute drive. It is right on the beach of Lake Taupo and there are some tent and van sites on the water edge.

The caravan/camping facilities are excellent and the grounds are wide spread with attractive trees and planting. There are play grounds and an indoor games room and tv. The kitchen is huge, washing facilities, clean toilets and right next to the lake. There are great views. It's really worth a visit for a few days.

Nice kitchen, nice staff, nice entertainment room with fun things to do. Although no classic top 10 inflatable pillow it was great place at a great location.

Non powered camp site right on the waters edge. Incredible to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Only problem is the sound of the heavy traffic passing through close by. Coffee in the morning from a coffee truck was amazing.

Beautiful location on the east side of Lake taupo. Nice top 10 camping ground, good facilities with cabins available. Handy location with the boat ramp on site. Also close enough to either Taupo or Turangi for supplies. Only thing to consider is that this is on State Highway 1, which is extremely busy, the water side part is quite narrow with tight parking and noise from traffic is prominent. If this effects you, think about staying on the opposite side which will give more relief from the traffic noise.

The scenery is perfect, the traffic however not so much. If you're on the lakeside, ear plugs are a must as trucks fail to obey the engine braking restriction signs. The facilities need more showers and the existing two upgraded. Pricing has risen considerably and the only extra you're getting for it that's different to the 1970s is the bbqs built outside the kitchen blocks.

Clean room, helpful hosts, but photos didn't give the impression that cabins are located only 10 metres from state highway 1, so noise from trucks an issue if you're spending on a cabin to take a break from driving. Expensive for a very basic cabin with a long dark walk to showers and kitchens to get even some hot water for a cup of tea!

Stayed 03/10/2018, arrived late, but thankfully our key and instructions available in the night box. We too didn't read that cabin had no bathroom, and had to track to centralised loos. The wall heater was on to take the chill out of the room. Poor sleep OMG the trucks made everything in the tiny cabin shake, and could be heard from a distance before arrival, like being by the engine of 747. Room tidy basic and clean. The view was great leaving the camp as this cabin had no view. Recommend read to ensure cabin has bathroom and due to poor insulation choose one miles from the road

Just located beside lake Taupo. You wouldn't want to miss this place if you travel across the North Island in new Zealand. Great location. This was the first night I sleep with campervan and I had a little trouble with the power, called them and they came and help me. Super friendly. And Motutere Bay top 10 is the only holiday park which will text you and inform everything, which I feel very warm. Great park!

Great spot. Very helpful and friendly staff. But a group arrived late and played music pretty much the whole night with drinking etc going on. Didn't sleep much. Apart from that, awesome setup

Place is amazing, clean, friendly staff. Location next to the lake deserves 5 stars... but the main road between the lake and the campground makes it to loud during the night

This is the most expensive camping we have experienced of all nz 65 dollars for two adults beautiful place but we want be back we didn't need any of there services as we were in campervan ripof

The location is second to none. However, it is filthy! Toilets have not been scrubbed in a long time, faecies on the walls alongside blood in womens. Been up here for multiple days and they still remain. Unfortunately, the staff do nothing about it.come for the lake but expect to feel disgusted in these areas. Kitchen step has been broken and extremely unsafe, again this is being ignored by staff. Very disappointing and suprised it has received good reviews UPDATE: manager came and rectified the issues soon after my post. Aprreciate the swift action

Friendly staff who were accommodating to our last minute booking. Very nice facilities.

I really loved this place, it has a big kitchen and dinning area, a big Playroom, playground, the toilets and showers were very clean.

Unfortunately it is just the noise from SH1 that gives this place a lower score. Amenities of the campsite are good although small when the place is full. Great waking in the morning and being directly next to the lake. Will definatly visit again.

Just so relaxing and has every facility you need. Staff are so helpful and friendly too. Definitely staying here again

A really nice tidy and extremely clean amenities. Awesome hosts . A short walk to the lakefront eg 2minutes plenty to do and see in this part of the Taupo /Turangi area . Competitive prices. The camp has its own shop with refreshments and other items you may require. AAA+ Plus in my book thats for sure

Location, reception and cleanliness great, Facilities old and in dire need of refurbishment, short toilet and shower doors-lack of privacy as I found out! Lake pitches have an outstanding view, downside is being next to SH1, truck noise all night!

Awesome place you may get 2 types of camping sites Lake Side Lake Front We were lucky enough to secure lake front and it’s really awesome Amazing place right next to lake With other onsite facilities like shared kitchen , BBQ area, toilets, showers, laundry etc. Staff are really good explains everything about the place and welcoming. We are here on long weekend period and still not that much crowded It has other living facilities as well like you may hire rooms etc. The only thing I would like to mention that this place very close to highway which you may find little noisy at night as it’s look like you next to the main road and vehicle passing noice disturbing little bit at night but overall place is soo good.... Enjoy happy travelling!!!

We love it. A great place for family safe a holiday home with benefits lake play ground . Clean imenities ..new year last year some totally feral people made a shocking mess in the kitchen ..I hope they don't come this year . I felt sorry for the staff who go beyond service .

Was always a good camp, having the highway run through it is a nuisance. Boat ramp is easily congested. Was better when Brent and Jenny owned it!

Awsome as people, let us in last minute at midnight with awsome service and love. Will definatly be coming back and reccomend staying here, we had the best sleep on the comfiest bed, absolutly loved it.

Beautiful view. A bit far from Taupo, but 20 min is worth the drive. Get a self contained unit, otherwise the highway noise will be too much.

Good view next to the lake but the toilet requires keys. Also the shower needs 50c to get warm water for 6 mins.

We booked the lakefront powered campervan site and never regretted it. We had unblocked views of the lake and managed to catch a very beautiful sunrise.

Very busy at new year but really nice setting. By SH1 so can be noisy. We went diving right from the beach which was super convenient!

Quite a quirky little campground. They have tent sites and a lot of cabins. The place was clean but the kitchen facilities were quite small.

Had a one night stay at this holiday park after installing 6 new Barbeque's for them. Its a beautufull place with awesome views of Lake Taupo.

My family and I loved how clean the cabins were and absolute friendly staff.

Spacious, comfortable, cozy, and economical. Kitchens had mostly everything. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend it.

Ok holiday park at Lake Taupo. Facilities were in desperate need of improvement when we stayed there, WiFi reception was not good at our powered spot.

Great campsites by the lake. Can hear cars and trucks from sh 1 but not to noisy. The lake makes up for it.

There were toilets and showers available with a code, an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area. Also a dumping station, recycling station and a good service reception

It's a bit noisy as big tracks pass doing the night. The cicadas are really noisy. And the shop is great.

I think the speed limit should be reduced to at least 70kph. Very dangerous for children crossing the road either to the water or back to camp.

Location was a mix bag, view was unmatchable but we had a busy road behind! Would have been 5* without the road

Great sites by the lake. High standard of facilities and cleanliness. Really enjoyed it here.

Absolutely loved staying here, spotlessly clean and right beside the lake. Traffic at night a little noisy but totally worth it, stayed in a caravan right beside the lake for 4 nights, wished it was 4 months!

(Original) 통가리로 트레킹 마치고 다음날 푹 쉬러 온 곳 주말에는 현지인들이 상당히 많아 홀팍이 거의 대부분 찾던 것으로 기억되나, 평일오후에 오니 총 3~4팀 정도 밖에 없이 한적했다. 캠핑카 문 열어놓고 호수 보고 바람 맞고 있으면 천상 지상 낙원이 따로 없다. 홀팍 자체에서 하는 카약투어 등도 있다. 하지는 않아서 추천은 못한다만, 날씨가 좋다면 고려해볼만도 하다. 호수 위에 둥둥 떠다니는 오리랑 놀다보면 오후 한나절 시간이 금방 간다. 블랙스완도 같이 보았던 장소로 기억에 남는다. 부지는 상당히 큰 규모임에도 불구하고, 조리를 할 수 있는 곳은 중앙 뿐이라, 다소 걸어야 한다. 여유의 사치를 누리기에는 더 없이 좋은 곳임은 분명하지만, 가장 큰 단점은 도로변에 있어서 새벽에 다소 대형 화물차의 지나가는 소리가 들리고, 밤이 되면 심각하게 어두워진다는 점이다. 한줄 요약 : 시간적 여유가 되면 이곳에서의 1박을 추천한다만, 그게 아니라면 타우포의 많은 무료캠핑장을 이용해도 될듯하다. 하지만 우리 부부에게는 기억에 남는 장소다
