Had a really enjoyable weekend staying here, I think it was Donna the camp mum, was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating to our needs. The facilities are clean and modern. Nice and peaceful and the prices are excellent value for money! Will defiantly come back again, thank you to all the staff here.
K.
A very safe holiday park with a playground and a pool for the kids. "Camp Mum" welcomed us on our arrival and provided an easy check in. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. Thank you so much for our very enjoyable stay in Wanaka.

We had a fantastic two nights here! We booked last minute over the phone and Emily made it an absolute breeze. It was especially nice to have a detailed map and personalised welcome note for us in the after hours pick up. We stayed a second night due to having a great experience and the great rates.
Each campsite is numbered, so access and your own space is easily recognizable. There are water taps at most if not all sites, two sets of kitchen/showers/laundry areas and they are stocked with all the necessities.
There weren't a lot of people staying and despite a noisy bunch being next to us, it wasn't for long as the manager (Charlotte I think her name was) had little tolerance for peoples disrupted sleep.
It's a fantastic peaceful location, feels clean and I can see there's a lot of love being put into the place. Definitely our favourite place in our trip, highly recommend. Thank you so much!
K.
did not feel very welcomed. Both my partner and I were profiled on arrival. Not a nice feeling as it's never happened to either of us before. Will not come back. I'm quite glad we only spent the night. I think it's interesting that after I my partner reviewed her experience she was told that the reason for asking for ID's was different to what we were told on our arrival. The staff did not even ask for a covid pass or share any info regarding tracing. We were asked for ID because the staff did not believe my age. We were not told about our ID's needing to be checked due to covid circumstances. Our friend that checked in moments after my partner and I did was not asked to show her ID.

Well kept campsite with amazing views. Huge powered sites for tents. Great facilities and friendly welcoming staff. Highly recommend.

Its our second stay here, can you guess how good a place can be if a customer keep coming back? Will definitely come back for a third time when we're in wanaka. Really comfy bed, spacious unit, friendly staff, lovely lovely park at a reasonable price. Some things could be improve such as the shower in the unit (the water came out too small, took a long time to finish shower), and the washing machine in the laundry room can be cleaned up a bit. Other than that, no complaints. Always had a lovely stay here.
R.
Just popped in needed a place to sleep. Very accommodating decent shower comfortable bed clean fresh linen. Bathroom and kitchen clean and tidy
J.
Awesome place. A change of owners has made this place an amazing location, plus their staff are fabulous, the location and facilities supberb. Highly recommended.
C.
Very clean, friendly staff, fantastic playground for the kids. View is so beautiful! Will go back there any time!
L.
Thank you for having us! Our stay was incredible. Such a beautiful, friendly vibe. We can't wait to return!
M.
Very clean place. Stayed 2 nights really good spot.
Will be going there definitely again
N.
Gorgeous location - close to town & great for families with heaps of space and cool playground; room a bit dated but clean, warm and comfortable. And the staff are super friendly and helpful. Loved our stay here!
S.
Really good option for camping close to Wanaka. Good level sites, plenty of grass areas, clean amenity blocks and friendly hosts.
M.
Great parking for motor home, clean tidy parking sites and facilities. Friendly helpful staff.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my partner in June 2021. The park itself is situated 10 minute drive outside of Wanaka on the way to the Mount Aspiring national park. We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom. Lady who checked us in was very friendly. There is ample parking, good cooking and laundry facilities. Very clean facilities. Excellent unlimited fast wifi. The showers were powerful and warm. Unfortunately, the bedroom was absolutely freezing at night with a small heater beside the bed which didn’t really help. There were extra thick blankets which definitely helped. We were there during the depths of winter and I think there was an unusual antartic weather front but it really made it difficult to sleep with the coldness. Situated very close to Roys Peaks car park to start the trail which was great. Overall, this place would be perfect during summer but on this occasion the cold room really hampered our stay.
A.
Some things in need of an update, however great service and good facilities. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Kids enjoyed the park and demanded we come back again as they have really enjoyed their stay. Thank you to our hosts. Much appreciated and we look forward to coming back again.
P.
Great facilities. Close walk to town. Some more shade would be nice.
M.
This exceeded our expectations. The common areas were all spotless and well maintained. You can book the private spa pool for free. There is a clothing drying room, and laundry costs $4 each for washing and drying. A lot of pride and love goes into this place!
V.
Beautiful spot. Would come again. kitchen facilities are great. A good spot to explore from. Good value for money.
K.
Great park, clean, tidy, quite, nice walk to Wanaka center, nice hot showers, would definitely stay again.
A.
Wasn't particularly blown away by this park compared to some of the others I've stayed in.
We ended up being squished in quite close to someone which was fine as they were actually nice people but privacy was a little hard.
The main reason for the low rating was the facilities weren't really up to scratch. We ended up going to the toilet which had run out of toilet paper in all cubicles and the shower I had just wouldn't release water if anyone else was using a shower (or the Kitchen - although that is an assumption)
V.
We had a great time at Mt Aspiring holiday park!
The staff was very friendly and helpful when assigning our campsite (they recommended spots which would be shady in the morning which we thought was a nice touch).
The facilities were clean and tidy, especially the kitchen. There’s a nice pool and playing area for kids. We even spent some time working on our laptops in the lounge room (alone!) taking advantage of the free wifi (amazingly covering the whole area of the park!).
Good location next to some interesting wineries and at a reasonable walking distance to #thatwanakatree and the lakeside.
J.
Great stay again, well run family friendly park
C.
Beautiful place where we stayed before doing Roys Peak track !
The ladies at the reception were sooo nice and welcoming i wish i could have stayed longer !
All the facilities are very clean (except the barbecue which we had to clean before and after, but that’s more the previous user’s fault...).
Useful to know that the barbecue works with $2 coins though we only needed one for our burgers.
We also enjoyed the pool and the hot tub which you have to book at the reception (for free) for half an hour.
Had a very pleasant stay there and would highly recommend to anyone before and after Roys Peak track.
They even have a free car wash.
I highly recommend this place.
D.
Loved it, we have three boys and they couldn't stay away from the pool. Charlotte was so very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Definitely gonna go back there, I give it 6 out of 5 stars 🌟
G.
Love love loved staying here! So much so that we booked an additional night. No mozziez or flies. Clean facilities. Great hot showers, laundry, kitchen, barbeques. And Charlotte's friendly welcome is just the icing on top of the cake! And was only $35 pn for an unpowered site.
S.
Just wonderful! Cheerful staff. Clean spacious facilities. Equipped kitchen. Plenty of space for tents, caravans. Children playground.
j.
Could not recommend this place more, accommodation in wanaka is expensive but we only paid $200 for 2 nights stay for 2 adults 2 kids and a baby. The playground is situated very close to cabins and so are the well equipped kitchen and toilet block, the showers are free and roomy and nice hot water, there is a free spa pool this was amazing at the end of the evening, it is very roomy and perfect temp, the owner was really lovely and made us feel so welcome and there are brand new coin operated washing machine and drier, we toured the south and kids agreed this was the best camp ground we stayed in, thanks for having us we will be back again
M.
Really nice place, the cleaners are in general fantastic people. Internet is the main problem with the place, but even then it still exists which is better than any free camping ground. I recommend going there a lot. Make sure to go to a bathroom or kitchen just after being cleaned of course, it will be at its cleanest then.
T.
Super clean dorm room! Staff were nice and helpful all the time. Our heater wasn’t working and they changed it immediately. A lot of amenities that you can use! Kitchen was spacious (especially the one further up the holiday park).
However you had to buy a blanket because it wasn’t provided, which puzzled me but other than that, it was a great experience!
V.
Electric pitches at the top have a wonderful view of the mountains. Showers and toilets were really clean and nice and hot. The owners Jo and Hamish were wonderful and really helpful. Definitely recommend!
B.
We spent 7 weeks living here during the COVID lockdown. The site is incredibly situated with stunning views, great access to Wanaka town, Glendhu bay, and the national park. The facilities are very good, and the management are amazing. We began by staying in a van on a powered pitch for 4 weeks, then in a self contained apartment for 3 weeks.
Our stay was not in typical circumstances, but we did spend longer here than most travellers do so hopefully this review is still useful. There were only a handful of people staying when we did, so it was wonderfully peaceful and we had the facilities to ourselves, though I imagine it is normally busy.
The park looks out over Rippon Vineyard, across Lake Wanaka to Mt Burke and Mt Gold in the distance, with Mt Iron and the town time side, and the distant towers of the Alps to the left. The views from some of the pitches are just spectacular.
The powered pitches are really nice, and the self contained apartment was very spacious, well laid out, clean and well equipped.
It is a 15 minute walk to the Lake, either at Waterfall Creek to join the stunning Glendhu Bay walk, or to the watersports centre from which a few more minutes take you into town along the water.
The site sits underneath Roy's Peak, so it is a short trip to the base of the main track. It is also not far to go into the National Park for walking, climbing or just amazing scenery.
Most importantly, the management are truly wonderful. They were so kind and friendly, looking after us so well.
I recommend the Mt Aspiring Holiday Park wholeheartedly!
L.
Great park. Owners have been doing upgrades since they took it over. Used to be a Top10 park years ago. Kudos to Charlotte and the team.
M.
Charlotte (i believe the name) was an amazing host! Room was clean and lovely! Great view as well! Couple minutes only from #thatwanakatree
S.
There is an unbeatable view of the mountains, and you’re surrounded by nature and birdsong. We stayed in our camper and had no issues apart from them booking our spot to someone else for a night (we worked it out in the end). They have a hot tub on site we used once and a bathtub in the ladies room which was amazing after a long day of hiking. The bathrooms could be cleaner but it’s a busy place so I can’t complain. The water pressure is great but it runs really really hot, so be careful. Kitchen facilities have everything you need. I would absolutely recommend!
M.
It's a fine enough place if you don't come with standards. We had a self-contained room for 6 and a small cabin with 4 beds, and it was definitely lacking in storage, space, and ventilation.
The camp is nice, wasn't bothered by any road sounds. There's not a crazy view, but it's peaceful in the winter the lake is a 3 minute drive away. I can imagine it's a very pleasant place in the summer!
For the winter, thankfully the places are heated quickly with electric heaters, however it's an old holiday park and it shows:
- no double glazing (yikes in winter!) Also no sound insulation.
- only a small 2-hob electric stove in the self-contained unit.
- bathroom small, floor gets wet into the winter from condensation. It's a generally ick bathroom.
The communal kitchen stank of disinfectant and were generally unpleasant and cold. The kitchenette in the unit was fine and had all the untensils we needed :)
You get 100mb WiFi free per day. This seems to have been shared between the 8 of us, so it ran out in about 30 minutes. Not that we were in Wanaka to use internet, but I'm sure that in 2020, it's possible to get more internet.
You also can't use the electric kettle and toaster at the same time without cutting power to the whole unit. Not an ideal situation...
All in all, this place seems dated and in real need of a renovation, but it's also just fine for a couple of days of glorified camping while we spend the days outside. Thankfully it's at least one of the rare decently priced things in Wanaka!
M.
We got a self contained cabin. A bunk bed and a queen with above average mattress - still not as good pillows haha
The shared facilities are good although I guess it depends a lot on the guests. We had a not so pleasant encounter with a group of early 20s that were a bit messy...
Showers are clean and water has good pressure but the drain seems clogged as it doesn't drain the water properly throughout the shower.
Overall it was a good experience and I would come back again :)
R.
For self contained studio and unit: Facilities are okay. Rooms are good in size with small fridge, utensils, cutlery and basic cooking equipment. Would suit singles or couples. May want another option if with children. Staff friendly and helpful.
G.
Best camp ground i have been to in New Zealand. They have a great pool and playground for kids. Spacious green areas. Not squashed and crowded. The units look like they have been renovated recently- and they have all the amenities you need. Would stay again next time i come to Wanaka! Definitely the place to go!
K.
Great campsite and good facilities
M.
Would have given it 5 stars if not for the fact that WiFi was absurdly limited to 100mb per pax per day. The kitchen was clean and well maintained, you could borrow a kitchen pack for cutlery and pots. There were total of 3 fridges so space was not an issue. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, especially with the heater. Reception is open till 9pm which is helpful.
M.
A beautiful camp ground, we had an amazing view of the lake and mountains. Kids loved the outdoor pool and spa. Friendly and helpful staff, great having everything included in price ie showers. We loved this place so much we stayed an extra night!! Great location just out of town but only a 5 min drive in. I would highly recommend this holiday park, we will be back again.
G.
Wow! Such a beautiful view from our camp spot, amazing friendly staff! Peaceful, clean and welcoming..thanks Charlotte and team ❤️
L.
I needed a place to camp for the night and did not have a res, but the gal in the office was very nice and hooked me up w/a nice tent site for $20NZ. The site was fine and though it was close to road, the noise was not bad in the night, in the morning however, you could hear the traffic. The bathrooms were clean and there was a hairdryer. They also had a TV lounge and wifi was available there. You could get up to 200MB per 24hrs free and pay for any additional. It was a nice, cheap stay for a night and with Lake Wanaka right across the street, a good location for the price!
J.
We stayed here with the tent and we loved our visit. The only complain we had was the location. We had to walk half an hour to get to Wanaka city centre. But the place for our tent was very big, the park was well maintained and the tv room was big as well. Don't expect to much of the pool, but next to it is a nice playing area for the kids. The staff is friendly, there is free wifi, but just a small amount. You need to pay for more.
R.
Great place for families and is a short drive into the centre of Wanaka . Good location for accessing many tourist activities. The complex has a swimming pool and push bikes for hire and a good outdoor area for kids to play safely. The rooms are fairly spacious and clean.
J.
Great view, lovely staff, fabulous shower.
C.
Reasonable: can't agree with other reviewers about road noise, we found it very peaceful. Pitch was fine, we slept in our car and had to maneuver down the very steep bank to pull in next to our tent but this wasn't particularly difficult. Might be hard in rain? Unfortunate that with many many reviews criticising the state of the facilities (particularly the men's toilets) and many many promises of improvements I found the experience of brushing my teeth next to an overpowering stench of stale urine totally repulsive.
Yes you're busy, but so is every other campsite on the South Island and they seem to manage.
N.
Great friendly hosts, great veiws, excellent facilities even cooked a pork belly in the kitchen oven... hope to see you again.. nick and chrissy .. Brisbane australia.
E.
We rented a cabin room for 1 night. The beds were comfortable and clean and did provide a 'cooking utensils pack' for a 20$ deposit. A bit disappointing with the showers spraying cold water randomly every minute and the shared kitchen was a little dated but everything else was ok!
R.
We booked a 1 night powered campervansite. The view on the lake was stunning (ask for powered site 20-25!). Good wifi, very clean accommodation. If we had the time, we would stay one or two nights longer!
A.
Simple cosy rooms. Good for families and large groups going skiing etc around Wanaka. A good playground for kids. Has laundry, kitchen area, some food/drinks for sale in the office. Lots of info on local tourist attractions. Location is out of town so you do have to drive to town, but beautiful spot across the road from the lake. Helpful staff also
J.
I really enjoyed our stay in Wanaka at the Mt Aspiring Holiday park. The staff are friendly and the accommodation is functional and clean. We stayed in a self contained unit and it contained everything we need for a family of four. Bear in mind the TV is in the same room as the two people bed, so if your kids want to stay up and watch TV, you will need to make other plans. Luckily the Armsfield winery is across the road.
M.
We stayed in the single rooms but it was nice enough. Main bed was very soft so the wife slept badly. I didn't spot the hand written sign in the kitchen to get cooking gear from the shop. Ended up making dinner with plastic cutlery. That sign should be bigger ;)
C.
A lovely camp at a reasonable price, great facilities. Would definitely stay again
M.
A very good place to stay in Wanaka. Great heated rooms in cold chilling weather of Wanaka. The cons is that you can book the rooms online but at check-in they tell you that you can use your own blankets or rent them for 10$/person per night. So better arrange your linen or be ready to pay extra at check in.
L.
Great place and facilities. Staff are so helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend for families in all budget ranges
A.
The only reason for a 4 star is Wifi- they have limited wifi.
Good location, close to Roys Peak, lake wanaka.
Laundry- chargeable
Showers (push the switch and shower works for 8mins) and Toilets - free
Dump site- yes
Powered site for camping- yes
B.
Very clean & tidy but a bit expensive for what you get
A.
This is located 2.5kms outside Wanaka Town and is ideal in proximity to start the Roy's peak hike which is a few kms down the road.
Being a Top 10 and charging more than 2x than usual holiday parks I would have expected more. Some of the facilities were broken or not working, while the sites were ample big, the placement of the power points were very ill thought out. Overall a nice site... But failed to see what made it top 10
M.
Nice family holiday park. Rooms are clean but a bit unorganized, friendly and helpful staff fixed any problems we had. Great location just out of the main town area, close to the lake.
M.
Fairly basic. Sad they aren't a Top 10 park anymore. 100mb of Wi-Fi data per device per day is hardly enough to download a few emails. Of course you can always buy 1gb for $5....... Staff are friendly and helpful at least. Rooms are tired and smell of cooking because there are no exhaust fans over cookers. Beds are comfortable.
G.
Great staff. Very welcoming. Friendly atmosphere. Thanks Chsrlotte for the lovely stay.
D.
Staff were friendly. Prices are pretty average for NZ holiday parks. Only complaint was that the men's washroom smelled quite bad both times we stayed there.
G.
Staff is super friendly, however the facilities are not good. Both kitchens are small, very small, appliances are old and some of them dont even work. Showers are actually fine!!!
I.
Nice holiday park. Feels safe with the security guard at the entrance. We only stayed one night in a two bedrooms cabin, spacious, beds were comfortable, carpet needs more attention, bathroom needs an upgrade, shower curtain needs to be replace.
C.
I stayed here on 13/12 and 14/12 last year. I arrived very late but the staff was so kind to let me in even though they were off duty already. Even more they give me one parking lot overlooking the Wanaka lake!
E.
Level sites, some with great views. Amenities clean and well serviced. Good value for money.
D.
It's not too bad. By far better than some other top 10 places so far in my holiday so far! Biggest problem though with all so far is the WiFi is stupidly slow and pretty much unusable. The stove is quite dangerous as it can be switched off yet the elements are still on and hot. So the actual stove controls do who knows what and must be switched off at the wall. Bed was comfy. People complaining about the busy Rd, seriously that ain't busy! Go live beside a highway in brisbane if you want loud and busy. Camp ground is quite Sandy though and not a grass paradise. But still fairly good if you are used to aussie camp sites which are usually dirt anyway.
t.
Nice and clean. The best shower that we had in the south island. The unpower site is close to the main roud so it is littel bit noisy. And there ia no nice communal area to sit if it is rainy.
g.
A bit expensive for camping, we book for 5 but had only a small place to set 3 tents. The camping was almost empty but they set us all close to each other. Kitchen isn't very well equipped. Positive the is a SPA and had it open until 9pm
P.
Great motel with big rooms and fully equipped kitchen. The rooms for more than two people have doors for more privacy so that 4 can sleep in a room and 2 in another one.
E.
Nice holiday park. Really quiet at nite and away from the hustle and bustle on Wanaka town. Facilities are pretty basic. There's also rabbits in the bushes between the office and the camper van parking area.
I.
Great place to stay, family loved it. We will be back!
H.
It’s a nice play to stay, and good wifi connection (only 100MB/day). The bathrooms could be more clean though. The toilets were disgusting.
V.
Ok-ish, probably a better experience if you’re camping in a tent and cook yourself, the cabins are super basic and quite old, kitchen-ware works for about 50% and there are 4 cooking spots for everyone on one side and 4 on the other.
P.
Standard facilities. Clean enough but not spotless. Additional charges for certain facilities though which is always a pain. Reception closes very early though and open relatively late too.
G.
Great location, good amenities. Unfortunately the toilets were not as clean as normal Top Ten Parks.
The ground and toilet cleaning was a disappointment.
A.
Clean kitchen and bathroom. We stay in a cabin. Just under 100 for three people. Very budget choice. Recommend for families and friends.
S.
Beautiful, clean rooms, friendly staff, will definitely recommend AND return
T.
Economical place to stay. Clean, tidy, slightly out of town but not too far. Friendly management. Recommend.
G.
Although I haven't stayed there yet I found the owners exceptionally welcoming and grounds were immaculate. Looking forward to staying in the future ☺
J.
Beautiful setting. Great accommodation. Very friendly and helpful staff. Unit was very comfortable.
J.
Great time. Good facilities and lovely, friendly welcome!😃
J.
On edge of town 20 minutes walk to centre. Spacious apartments older but clean and functional. Lovely setting.
S.
Very friendly staff. Exhilarating view. Minus 3 and frosts when i woke this morning. Lake wanaka still and perfect. Good venue.
D.
Clean amenities, reasonable rates, friendly staff, good pitch
M.
great place. reasonable clean grounds attractive. perfect location just outside of town. helpful staff
T.
Nice place to stay, but the sharing kitchen area must put extra window to ensure no smelly cooking
M.
Very nice picture postcard type photography available around the town. There are lot of scenic spots around this town. The two bigs lakes nearby.
P.
Nice holiday park with good facility, if you want to cook you got to have your own pot and other kitchenware else you can rent it here.
M.
Great facilities. Stayed in a cabin. Close to the Wanaka tree and township.
B.
Was lovely when we arrived to find the heater was on in our cabin and not to far from The Wanaka Tree
J.
It was next to a very noisy and busy road.Too far out of town to walk to. I would recommend staying in a bedroom instead of camping.
S.
Absolutely fantastic. The best holiday park we stayed at. Facilities send to none, views amazing.
B.
Nice enough place, however nothing special and other Top 10 parks are nicer.
H.
The TV did not work
k.
Nice location. Quiet campground with clean facilities. Loved the spa
R.
I'm very happy to stay here with my wife ten years ago. Hope can meet again.
p.
Good place to spend the night during a roadtrip. Do your groceries before going there though, as there is no stores in walking distance
V.
Rooms are nice and clean. Kids enjoyed playing in swimming pool and play ground.
H.

H.
Nice place. Not too crowded, which was nice. Kids loved the pool.

Lovely site. Not quite as clean and fresh as would usually expect from Top 10.
L.

(Translated) I stayed at the campervan site for one night, the space was spacious and there were tables at each site, so it was comfortable.
The staff are very friendly and overall very clean.
There are many shower rooms and toilets, and the kitchen is very clean, so everything is satisfactory for the low price.
If you walk a little to the left from the entrance of Mt aspiring and then walk to the right toward the lake, the walking path looking at the lake view is pretty.
The city with all kinds of shops is also close and pretty.

This motel is a bit old-school, especially the dark stainless steel shower reminded of the 60s or of Alcatraz.
With 150 NZD, the accommodation for Wanaka was priced in the midfield. It can be paid by credit card and the reception has the most necessary drinks for the first night.
There is mountain bike rental, a spa, and a small pool.
The staff were very friendly and service-oriented throughout - an extra star for that.
For an ad hoc overnight stay it was perfectly OK, for something longer I would look elsewhere.
Feel free to follow my Google Maps profile, check out my other reviews and be sure to visit foodadvisorblog!

DEUTSCH

(Translated) TR Family stayed at this camp for 3 nights. The turf at the campsite was full of yellow, the facilities were complete but the maintenance was poor. The location was very good. It was about 10 minutes from the city and about 2 kilometers from Roy's peak Track. It was very convenient!

(Translated) The rooms are quiet and it is clean. The staff is also very friendly. However, the furniture is worn and partially broken (for example, hanging closet doors). That's why I currently rate the price-performance ratio as overpriced.
