I initially started PT sessions because of lower back pain and wanting to get fitter in general- in a few short months, I was already seeing a major difference in terms of my general fitness, strength and in my back and core in particular. I really enjoy the small group and 1-1 sessions and I'm constantly seeing improvements- I'm also no longer getting as much back pain as I used to! James designs the sessions to fit your goals and is extremely motivating- I'd highly recommend!

I have never been an active person. But after going through some health issues, I decided to start exercising in hope to make a difference. I started training at The Active Lifetstyle in 2017, not only did James help me become healthy, strong and motivated, he also coached me through my entire pregnancy up until a week before little one was born. Although I live in the UK, I’ve been able to hit James up for training advice when I was first starting out on my fitness journey. I have been training with James since the beginning of lock down and our 30 min online hit classes in the morning has been what's got me through lockdown and i enjoy them so much i am continuing them now. Not only is it a fantastic and energy boosting start to the day - the results were showing after 2 weeks. My aim was to tone up and prevent putting on weight both achieved and i am very happy with the results. James is extremely good at adapting to my needs and excellent at teaching me new exercises plus keeping me motivated. Thanks James!

I worked with James three years ago, and is by far the best peronal trainer I have ever worked with; and three years on I still turn to everything he taught me. He helped me shift by body fat from 17% to 12% (which was better than I could have hoped for); increase my lifts by 40%, and most importantly, helped my mental health. Not only is he a great trainer, he's a stand up humanitarian who cares for his clients well beyond the training. Plus, he great fun to work with, mostly because he is genuinely authentic and sincere. I couldn't recommend highly enough.

If your looking for a qualified personal trainer that goes the extra mile then james at the active lifestyle is who your looking for. His knowledge is second to none and hes always happy to help day or night. James does special events and the kitten yoga was amazing. The studio is well equipped and lots of supplements are available but james can talk you through what is best for you. This guy puts his heart and soul into every session. I highly recommended you check the active life style out!

I did the 21 day kickstart ONLINE and it was awesome. Everything you would need in a program - all my training, plus exercise form videos, all my eating - the meal plans were tasty and easy to make. Would recommend anyone to give this a go if they want to kickstart their healthy habits and change their body, you can't go wrong. Well worth it!

Whenever I'm in Auckland I pop in here for a workout. It's a real treat as the equipment is great and James' knowledge and experience is incredibly helpful. I use it for powerlifting, but I have seen him show the same passion and care for all his clients, from weight-loss to toning to powerlifting. Mr Schofield is one of the most professional and knowlegable trainers I have had the pleasure to train with. My background. A long term martial artist, I have competed in Freestyle Wrestling, No Gi grappling but my initial base is traditional Chinese Kung Fu and Muay Thai. I work in a physically demanding job, so my health is important, where I can work out but not too worn out that I cannot work. James helped me with his advice on strength and conditioning. He has created a great community of health, fitness and motivation.

I have been training at The Active Lifestyle for over two years now. I usually do the evening session with James, which is now a part of my lifestyle. A big thanks to James for helping me achieve the fitness goals. Apart from planning and designing the training sessions, he motivates me to do better every time. Being a food lover it was difficult for me to follow a diet but James helped me with meal planning and nutrition advise, guess what...I can still eat my favourite food! Best thing is I train with a group of friends as The Active Lifestyle is more than a gym, it’s a small community where we all encourage each other to do better and bigger. Also, thanks heaps for organising the online sessions during lockdown...much needed! Thanks James!

My second family! Nobody pushes you harder, cheers louder or motivates you more than TAL. The right kind of gym where you feel safe in whatever shape you're in, inside or out. I started out very unfit, and unsure, with chronic knee pain from arthritis. I started in small group boxing sessions (heaps of fun), moved to strength training (fantastic) and now have 1-1 training with Amber (brilliant). I am training for powerlifting! Something I never thought I would be able to do. I am stronger, fitter, more flexible, more confident and in less pain than for such a long time. Amber and James are highly knowledgeable and fun to work out with, as well as being lovely people. They push you outside of your comfort zone, but in a way that feels natural. They work with your individual goals and tailor work outs to suit. They are flexible and helpful and invested in your success. Love it!

James and Amber run a great set up, quite different from the 'Adfit' sign up and we forget about you format. Really enjoy the training I've done there either one on one or part of a small group (talk to the guys, they'll find a way to make it work). I really hope they keep going from strength to strength!!
