Lionel is an amazing photographer! From our first interactions with him through to our wedding day, he was super professional and highly responsive, as well as personable and so easy to work with. Lionel is so amazing in what he do! We really love all our photos and its so hard to pick our favourites. We are so blown away by the photos and it made us relive the special day all over again. Having seen the professional and stunning wedding photos from Lionel’s FB and website, we asked if he would be interested in taking family photos, and were very glad that he said yes. He has been absolutely amazing to work with, responsive, kept in contact, changed dates (more than once) when we went into lockdown and due to the subsequent restrictions, suggestions on locations, etc. Lionel was warm and friendly and made the kids, and us feel at ease. We had reached out to Lionel quite early on in the wedding planning process and Lionel was an absolute champion. He was super patient with our never-ending queries and was very responsive considering his busy schedule! Lionel was also so helpful with giving us advice and suggestions, on top of just photography-related considerations. Through the many emails we had exchanged, we had developed a friendly connection with Lionel and felt so supported throughout our wedding planning process. Lionel is very friendly, down to earth and has a great sense of humour. He made it so easy to work with him and he felt more like a friend to us. Lionel is also very professional so we knew we could trust him with the process since the beginning. We loved that Lionel likes to capture genuine emotions and moments which allowed us to fully be ourselves and enjoy the day. Where required (for the bridal photos for example), Lionel was helpful in giving us pointers on how to position ourselves. We thought getting photos taken would be a little awkward but Lionel made it an easy, relaxed and fun experience. Lionel stayed around after our first dance and we really appreciated that, especially when he had an early start for another wedding the next morning. Many of our guests commented on how good and friendly Lionel was. The extra bonus was that Lionel could also speak Mandarin which was really helpful for communicating with some of our wedding guests. We recently received our teaser photos from Lionel and WOW!!!! We were amazed with how the photos turned out. Lionel's photos tells a story and he captured our emotions really well. He used the environment around us and created such beautiful photos. We honestly cannot wait to see the rest of the photos and work with him to create our wedding album. Lionel is a trustworthy professional who makes you feel well looked after! We highly recommend Lionel!

Such a talented photographer! 😄 As we were planning to have our small intimate wedding/elopement in Auckland, I happened to browse some photos on the venue's gallery. I was amazed with the view plus the stunning photos made by Lionel. I made an inquiry through his website and I guess we were really lucky that he was available on our chosen date..Lionel was very professional, accommodating and easy to work with. He was very open to my requests and last minute changes and was kind enough to give suggestions. He was also there to guide us throughout the day. We met Lionel when he was the photographer at my MOH's wedding a couple of years before my own. Taking a shoot with Lionel and Eva is totally different from we initially perceived. It was more like meeting a friend that we haven’t met for the longest time. The whole journey was fun and relax. We dont have to worry about the schedule as they will plan and make sure we get the best out of each day. For example, Lionel managed to get a fantasy candyfloss sky shot which was never planned for. Lionel's passion for creating special moments shines through in all parts of the process - he takes the time to get to know you as a couple before the shoot, which really helps to make you feel at ease on the day. He makes sure he knows the area used for photography so that the shoot feel seamless and flows well. He has a great eye for the special moments and gave us some truly special shots that we will treasure. His skills in photography techniques also meant we got to enjoy a range of different types of shots which we have been able to use for different things like thank you cards, event invites, framed photography and more. Also to top it all off, he creates a customised app for you to use afterwards which contains a selection of your photos that make it easy to share with family and friends. Lionel was the photographer for our wedding on Waiheke Island. We picked him because he had an excellent portfolio of photos on his website and we loved the way he captured light in his pictures. He is also really personable and interested. We did an engagement shoot with Lionel in Auckland which resulted in some amazing photos with a beautiful sunset. It was also great practice for the wedding, so I highly recommend. During the wedding itself, Lionel got everywhere, taking photos left, right and centre. He's got a knack for making you forget he's there while still capturing all of the important moments. His photos are edited so nicely and got lots of 'wow' responses when we showed them to friends and family. We love them and we're so glad to have our memories of the day captured by Lionel.

The first day I met up with Lionel I really couldn't give him a lot of information as my emotions from struggling to find a photographer got the better of me (it was only 4 and a half weeks till our wedding!!!). Lionel goes out of his way to capture stunning photos to document our wedding day beautifully. He's super personable and I had a lot of lovely comments about him from my friends and family. He's got amazing talent as the photos we got back were edited to a really good standard and looked amazing, however we did not get any close up shots from our wedding day even though I did send him an example of a close up shot I'd love to have done, though after talking to Lionel about this he did zoom in and crop some photos to make it more of a close up effect, however it still wasn't quite what I was after which was a little disappointing. We also only got back around 400 edited photos for a 10 hour day, when a lot of friends, family and colleagues who I spoke to said they got between 800-1500 for the same number of hours, though I didn't think it was too much of a problem as I prefer quantity over quality, however because of this there were a lot of photos we didn't actually get such as photos of the groom's side of family, though there were tonnes of my side. Also we went out for night time shots for about half an hour after our first dance and Lionel only gave us one back until I asked for more as I knew we had taken night time photos in various locations, to which I only got one more back as he said the lighting wasn't very good so we didn't get a lot of good night time shots, which again was disappointing as we were out there for a long time when we could have been talking to our friends and family and dancing, and I think a more experienced photographer would have known after 10 mins that it wasn't going to work out. He's still very talented, and super friendly and good for a lower budget but we were dissapointed that we couldn't get any more photos (even unedited) back because we didn't have enough of the groom's family (in fact there were none of the groom's grandparents), no close ups of us which you would think you would get from your wedding day and only 2 night time photos. Also what was disappointing was when I asked for close up photos he sent one that was zoomed in etc that he hadn't sent before, and it was a great photo with my husband actually kissing my cheek (as opposed to a similar one he sent with my husband leaning in but not actually kissing so it looked awkward!) so I don't understand why the full photo wasn't sent to us originally, as with the second night time photo which was also beautiful and not originally sent until I had asked. Just a word of advice to speak with your photographer about what you are after and what will you receive after the day, as I wish I had asked for any photo of my husband and I that looked decent, even if the composition/photographer doesn't think it reflects their best work it still means a lot to us to get those photos back.

My name is Dillon And I’m from Milwaukee, United States. After deciding I want to proposed to my GF while on our awesome vacation to New Zealand, My massive undertaking of trying to find a photographer and setting up a location and times stated to begin, After reaching out to 125 photographers in New Zealand by email due to the time zone difference only about 5 got back to me! Long story short I chose Lionel and he got back to me in about 12 hours which is amazing since the time zone difference is 27 hours! I seriously don’t have anything negative to say about this guy! His work is amazing, and his communications are fast and reliable. Something which has been a huge issue for me. He even helped me find Location to propose and worked on a time so we could capture the best light, never once did he recommended something, he wanted to do for himself. He wanted to know information about my GF and I before recommending a location which was super helpful and made it even more us! Additionally, Lionel went above and beyond his duties as our proposal / Engagement photographer and nonstop put his input in about where to go and what to do / not to do while in NZ or even Auckland for that matter. Lionel where do we even start!! When you book a photographer for your special day you sometimes have to wing it and trust the experienced person behind that profession, well all im going to say was that lionel you exceeded those expectations 100%.
