Michelle and Hemi are absolutely amazing! They did the photography for our engagement shoot as well as our wedding, and they absolutely blew us away with the quality of the photos and their friendliness. They made us feel so comfortable and relaxed at each of the shoots, and we couldn't have asked for better. Couldn't recommend them enough, they are absolutely wonderful!

I came across Patina Photography in 2014 while looking for a photographer for my brother's wedding. We were blown away by their almost editorial wedding pictures that had exactly the romantic, enchanting and polished feel my sis in law was looking for! The pictures came out amazing and Michelle was just such a delight to work with. She went out of her way to accommodate the bride & groom, from providing female-only staff for the ladies-only reception to finding the perfect private locations for a photoshoot. I knew I wouldn't have anyone else to take my own wedding photos when the day comes! Fast-forward to 2018 and now I have my own set of stunning pictures to gush over. My husband and I wanted pictures that focused more on the scenery than our own awkward selves and boy did Michelle and James deliver! We can't wait to print these pieces of art out for our house. On the day of the shoot, we met with Michelle at the designated meeting point where she had already scouted the location - a secluded area of enchanting native NZ forest. Michelle never rushed us as she tried to get us looking as comfortable as possible despite the storm of sandflies, rain and our being camera shy. You would never know how stressed out I was by the sandflies as the pictures came out beautifully romantic and ethereal - the sun breaking through the tops of the trees, we look like elves strolling amongst the mossy branches! After a quick dress change, we headed to our second location - an open textured plain with the southern alps and the setting sun as our backdrop. Michelle & James made a great team, subtly taking shots from different angles. I was so impressed at how dedicated, professional, attentive and positive they were throughout the afternoon. Every picture at this location is just absolutely stunning, and exactly what we wanted! They captured everything I love about the South Island, all while making us look straight out of a bridal magazine. It took less than 4 weeks to receive the online album, and we were just blown away by every photo. I can't recommend Michelle & James enough!

Michelle and Hemi are gorgeous people, which was obvious from the first time we met them (sharing delicious kumara chips at a bar and chatting about how we met and why we were getting married). They were terrific at recommending locations, timing, outfits - everything! And on the day Michelle kept in close contact to make sure we didn't get lost on the way to Mākara, kept us cheerful despite the brisk breeze, and somehow managed to make us feel un-self-conscious in front of the camera. I always wanted to invest in our wedding photos and finding a good photographer was so important to me. I cannot say how happy I am with our decision in choosing Patina Photo - we had a positive experience with Hemi & Michele from the very first interaction, right up until the end, and still do hear from them on the odd occasion :-) definitely one of the best vendors we had. Our wedding was small & intimate so we only needed one photographer. We had Michele shoot our special day & she was the perfect person for it! Our guests LOVED HER and we received so much cool feedback from them about her and how she was throughout the day - how she made the effort to have conversations with our loved ones, how she made people feel comfortable when having their shots done and she captured the best moments which all meant so much to us!! Our couple shoot was amazing, we are both camera-shy people and can get a bit awkward when asked to strike a pose but she made this so easy for us and like everyone at our wedding said to us, we couldn't have picked a better person. With Michele we really felt that she is in this for the people and is so passionate about what she does as this was all evident to us. It is so important to find people like this, that will make your day feel just as important to them as it is to you. I wish we could do it all again! When I was looking for a photographer, there was something different about Patina that drew me to them and after our first meet via video call - we were sold lol! I am so glad I took my own advice which was to invest in a bomb as photographer no matter the price because those are the memories that will last forever!!! :-) Lastly, you captured special moments of us & everyone we love. We will forever be grateful to be able to look back at these pictures and feel as if we are re-living those moments. Overall the photoshop went really great. We loved the photos and Michelle and James are the best to work with!!! Though there was a lot of info to take before shooting but James and Michelle helped us well. Just thought that the photos on the helicopter ones were a bit less comparing to the day one photos. I think if we could choose again we would still go with Patina Photogrphy but I will def have Michelle to come along too so we would have different kind of photos taken and that would have asked for adding a couple hours more with different locations. Thank you for the lovely adventures! Would be great to see our photos up one the official site soon too!!!!

Michelle + Hemi are the best decisions we’ve made in our entire wedding planning preparation so far! Our PWS in Tasmania was everything we wished for, and more! The initial plan was to shoot at Cradle Mountain, but the weather was not on our side on that very day. But fret not! As Mich + Hemi were well prepared with an alternative photoshoot location that turned out to be heaps better logistically (no more 2h hike!) and just as beautiful and picturesque. Mich + Hemi were so good in directing us/ making us feel comfortable in front of the camera that we forgot that we were even on a photoshoot, but just hanging out with old friends. They even did a small photoshoot for the family and everyone loved them just as much. And of course, when full delivery came the photos were beautiful and timeless and we couldn’t have asked for more. We never imagined that we would gain such wonderful friends in the process and can’t wait to have them photograph our wedding in Singapore.
