Rupert did an excellent job on cleaning my cameras sensor and two lens which went in pretty grubby but came out so much cleaner, he also took the time to explain my lay questions and not make me feel like an idiot for asking them…cheers guys, customer for life here

C.Great service, we went looking for our first professional camera and had no idea what we were doing. The gentleman in the shop was so helpful and got us fully set up and even threw in some freebies! All the staff were lovely and they offer a ton of services!
H.A great range of all sorts of photography gear. I came here interested in picking up some old film gear to add to my kit. Though I can't remember the name of the man who helped me, by crikey he was helpful. Not only was he very informative, but he was a very good salesman and offered me an excellent deal on a couple of lenses I simply couldn't turn down. The showfloor itself is well presented and easy to navigate, with everything laid out well and sectioned out properly. all round, a superb experience

He spent significant time with me explaining which gear would be most likely to fit my needs (video) without persuading me to spend too much on unnecessary gear. L.Over the last ten or so years we’ve bought several cameras from WPS. We have always had great service, good advice, and no pressure to buy, and there’s no trying to push us into more expensive options.
We recently bought a rather expensive pair of binoculars. I had lots of emails with a nice young man named Liam, offering me some very good advice and suggestions. They didn’t have the pair that I was interested in stock (Fujinon 14x40 TSX1440) in stock, but arranged to get a sample in for us to look at. We were very impressed so ordered a pair and they arrived within a couple of days.
We are VERY impressed with the binoculars. They bring things so close, and they have a built in stabiliser which makes it great for those of us with shaky hands. They are definitely not cheap, but like everything in life, you tend to get what you pay for.
Liam was very helpful and patient with us. We highly recommend WPS for any camera/binocular etc related needs.

L.Ive only been to get photos developed but it was good when I went. the photo kiosks are nice, but you need to make sure that the photos you print are the only think on your portable memory device, otherwise you have to sift through absolutely everything that you have as it doesn't seperate anything based on folders.
30+/- mins to have photos developed so that's pretty great
D.In Wellington from the UK with friends, one of whom had forgotten their battery charger for an important event. Recommended to go here by a local professional photographer as “they have everything” - which indeed they appear to do! Huge shop with extensive stock.

P.Great one stop shop for all things photography. They're staff are really helpful, and provide a good selection of photography gear and accessories. They also provide services such as prints and camera sensor clean, which I have used a couple of times and had no problem. Highly recommended
P.Very knowledgeable guys and willing to share. I could have taken their information and shopped online for better prices, but firstly it feels dirty! Secondly, I think you've got to value this service, as online stores couldn't have given me the advice I needed and got.
So without WPS I would have got a good price for things that I didn't need and had to wait for!

M.It’s a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde experience here. Sometimes the service is brilliant, staff friendly, funny and helpful. Other times they are rude and refuse to help (about a year ago I was hoping they’d order a lens in but they was told it was too much effort to order in from Nikon).
Photographic developing is almost always great with results which is why frequent the store every couple of weeks. I find the experience here disconcerting and after a recent run of poor experiences am looking elsewhere. It’s a shame, I have been doing my best to buy local.
b.Very helpful and knowledgeable. WPS has been around a long time and really know their stuff. They aren't pushy and recommend the best solution for you before profit. Go and pay a visit.
J.Great store for most things photographic. They are one of best places in town for prints with consistent quality. Sometimes their stock of cameras and lenses is a bit low so you have to pick you4 time to visit if you want to play with new gear.
S.One of the best retail experiences I've had in recent memory. The guy that served me was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and went out of his way to help me figure out what I wanted after being out of the photography game for a few years.
UPDATE: knocked stars off because I came here at 5:55 to pick up film, and the doors were locked at the guy inside saw me but flat out ignored me. So hit and miss, I guess

S.This is the best bet of you getting a camera lens, tripod, batteries, any other accessories or gear for your kit! And the third part of the inventory doesn't update very quickly.
I did try to pick up a rode mic from them however it was out of stock and wasn't going to be back for a month!
They don't have most of GoPro stuff but will do have the popular camera gimbals and other camera gear stuff.
check them out or better give them a call before you actually go to the shop and check if they are holding an inventory for what you're looking for!
J.Probably the best photographic shop in Wellington. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Has a cool vibe with the retro showcases and photographic memorabilia on display. Plenty of mouth watering serious new stuff.

C.John and the Team at Wellington Photographic Supplies restoration skills are Amazing, they brought many of our very old and damaged special Family photos back to life, even recreating our Grandmother's face in a treasured photo. Photos now since being restored, will be able to stand the test of time.

F.Excellent customer service from the people I have dealt with recently, the younger guy is really helpful without being condescending. The scan and print service is high quality also.There is also parking down the back of the building for a couple of cars and a rear entrance.
E.Got a roll of 35mm developed here. Prints were much nicer than I expected; beautiful matte paper with white borders. Scanning was disappointing because it was expensive and I unknowingly got low-res scans, it costs extra for better resolution. I went back to inquire about higher res scans and they didn't seem to care. Guess I'll scan them at home.

R.If you want expert advice then this is the place to go and buy a camera and accessorys. This is our experience, we were considering buying A Canon 800 or 80 and priced them at the two main nation wide retailers. The 800 was on special in the twin pack. We then went to Wellington Photography and were surprised that on price alone they were cheaper. I was drawn to the Canon 80 but asked about the new mirrorless cameras out, the guy serving me I am reluctant to call a salesman but an expert enthusiast who pointed me to a camera he owned himself. That he felt was equal to the Canon 80. I was immediately taken by the design and function and bought it. Without his guidence knowledge and genuine desire to sell me the best in my price range I could have purchased a large bulky Camera that was more expensive, about $800 that performs no better than the Fuji XT-100. So far we are still getting used to the ergonomics and performance of the camera.
l.The best photographic shop in the country, after going to countless other shops in the North and South Islands I have come to really appreciate the wonderful staff and service that comes with shopping at Wellington Photographic Supplies. Seeing George always puts a smile on my face and he always has some great advice to offer. You should definitely shop here !
