Called Southern Plumbing and Gasfitting Ltd in a panic as the tap in my laundry wouldn't stop running and was due to settle a house sale the following day. Firstly the customer service chap I spoke to was fabulous, really understanding and helpful. The plumber magically arrived within the hour and fixed the problem, he was a good bloke and very quick and efficient. Would highly recommend and they will now be my new go to for any plumbing I need done. Great work SPG.

I updated my yacht cooker/oven, and decided to get compliant with the gas regs. Daniel quickly assessed and then did the required work to an amazing standard - he was on time, easy to contact, and worked with my marina to comply with their contractor on-site requirements. Getting compliant wasn't the nightmare I'd thought it might be and I encourage other boaties to use Southern Plumbing to get their gas setup compliant and safe. It's great now to open my cylinder and not have a nagging feeling that I could have gas leaking from somewhere... I'd tried two to other companies in the past and they weren't even interested in marine work. These guys are definitely the business.

Amazing customer service. Came within 30 minutes of calling them to repair a burst pipe. Got the job done fast and were very friendly. 10/10 service. Will definitely be using them again when needed. Highly recommend.

Service guys were bang on time, polite, professional and careful. What I thought was going to be a quick and easy fix turned out to be neither, which was a bit dismaying. However the reasons for this were all examined and explained so carefully that I had total confidence in the work that needed to be carried out. Totally recommended!

I just had southern Plumbing come to my home to replace some very dodgy dux quest water piping. From the time I first contacted until the work was finished I found their manner and service to be first rate. The work was very difficult and frustrating at times. They kept me well informed with progress and took a lot of care to minimise repairs to the walls and floors. I have had friends who have had very similar work and their plumbers took little care in minimising damage. Their repairs to walls and floors etc. actually cost more than the plumbers bill. Because of the care they took there was very little damage and the person who we got to do plastering and painting repairs commented to me his surprise at the little damage and he would be recomending Southern Plumbing for this kind of work in the future. Many thanks to The ladies in the office and the lads who did the work who worked in a very professional and caring manner.

Highly recommend. Southern Plumbing did our kitchen installation and the work was done professionally and thoroughly. The job involved several visits with uncertain timing (our fault, not theirs!) and everyone at Southern was helpful and patient throughout. We had used them before and been just as happy.

From John Bongiovanni: We have had assistance from Southern Plumbing before and their latest job for us in March 201 was big one, digging up and re-laying sewage pipes. They were very professional, kept us regularly updated with progress and when the job was completed by Doug and his team, they returned everything to the way it was before and the backyard was great. you wouldn't have thought that such a big job had been carried out at all. We were very satisfied and would gladly recommend Southern Plumbing for carrying out a professional job.

Southern Plumbing were prompt, efficient, and completely straight up as well as accurate in terms of estimating cost and time/effort involved. Southern Plumbing replumbed my home after yet another Dux Quest installed in the 1980's failed. Of course it was on a Saturday. Plumber was here within an hour to cap the pipe and the team were back on Tuesday to replace all the piles. Great job, great price.

We had to get the watemain from the house to the street replaced. I imagined dug up pathway and ruined garden. The Southern Plumbing team did the job with thought and care so minimal tidy up was required. Thoroughly efficient and professional service was provided from the first point of contact to job completion.

Ken and the team from Southern Plumbing fixed a troublesome leak for us last week under Level 4 Covid 19 restrictions. The leak was on the main copper stack and was hard to find, then needed brazing in an awkward spot with limited access. The whole team were very professional and did a great job. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again or recommend to others.

We needed to have all the Dux Quest Plumbing removed from our home - on a 3 storey building this was a huge undertaking. The quote was prompt and detailed and very similar in price to the others. We chose Southern Plumbing because of the professionalism displayed. The two fine young men who completed the task arrived on time, communicated clearly, gave advance notice of requirements such as water being off, and were a pleasure to have in our home. The job was not an easy one, a trench out to the toby had to be dug below mature trees with large roots and there was a concrete floor to negotiate. The men stayed on task, working in a clean and orderly way, they were diligent respectful and cheerful..I highly recommend Southern Plumbing..

Southern Plumbing are my "go to plumbers" for my jobs around home. They turn up when they say they are going to and do very professional work at a reasonable price.. They have undertaken a range of work for me from the installation of an infinity gas hot water system - they removed the old electric water heater and tank off my roof and took them away. They have also changed taps, fixed an outdoor toilet and sorted drainage problems. I am very happy to recommend them ....

I haven't used this firm for many years but my regular guy couldn't come out for three weeks. I will be using them again as they are responsive and have enough crew on the ground to promptly attend to issues.

First time we had used Southern Plumbing. Choose them because of great reviews like this one. Greg from Southern Plumbing was very friendly, identified our plumbing problem and did an excellent job to resolve our problem at a time convenient to us, with no hassle and no surprises. We spoke about some interesting topics at times while Greg worked, including 'artificial intelligence and the future of work' - he is one knowledgable guy, in plumbing and far beyond! Great to see Greg accompanied by a school student during one visit to help the student gain work experience; investing in the future of young people. Southern Plumbing will be our 'go to' plumbers from now on.

A Southern Plumbing van passed me incredibly closely while I was cycling south on Taranaki St. As I approached behind the van at a red light on the intersection with Courtney Place, the light turned green and the driver raced off honking his horn and pulling the fingers at me behind him. That kind of dangerous and totally needless abuse really puts me off using their business. [EDIT: I've edited my review based on the super quick and positive response from Southern Plumbing's owner below. Great to see that approach! We've all gotta share the road.]

Greg our plumber from southern plumbing was very helpful. He was prompt, tidy and did a great job. He was able to replace a whole toilet for within a day. We would definitely use southern plumbing again.

Southern plumbing did an excellent job repairing our leaking roof. The staff were very professional. We will definetly recommend them, and we will use them again for our plumbing needs.

The water hose leak to the toilet was repaired very quickly and after water to floor was dry, the wet gib was cut away, replaced, plastered and painted, along with the wet skirting.

Called Southern out for a burst pipe in the middle of the night. During the Christmas period I wasn't expecting to get anyone but Doug was great. Fixed it then and there. Price was a bit steep but I expected it as I suspect I pulled him out of bed. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Call out fee always sounds scary but the service is prompt (even early sometimes), communication is great, plumbers are friendly, knowledgeable and professional and so we have used this company for many years for anything from leaky taps and burst pipes to gas leaks.
