A very unassuming venue with stellar food (waffle chicken burger gets a special mention!). We went on a very quiet evening. Service was excellent. We would definitely be keen to head back to try something else on the expansive menu!

Pretty disappointed by the Thursday $1 wings. They used to be incredible value but went tonight and they were about half the size they used to be, if that. Same price. Staff are always lovely and place is nice, chips are really good too, but downsizing the wings by half feelsbadman.

You always wonder whether or not you’re getting a deal when you grab a voucher. In this case it was a pleasant surprise. The place was clean and staff welcoming. Having brought a friend we ordered one each of the sample beer platter. One dark and one light. All were delicious. I recommend the dark beers. When our burger and chips arrived I was very happy with the portions provided and the time that it took to arrive. You can always tell that it’s a good burger when you have to go to the bathroom to wash the delicious mess from your face and hands. Prices and the menu is more than reasonable, having grabbed the deal online made it a bargain.

We booked here with a grab one voucher for a table of 6 very happy customers left after dinner, the wait staff were very attentive and made sure we were comfortable, the atmosphere was wicked a live band was playing which made the experience even better. would like to compliment the chef again for the hundredth time food was that good!!! Used the Grab One voucher,3 course meal from set menu, 5 or more choices for each course which catered for all tastes, the voucher was for 6, my son made 7 and they were fine with us paying for him separately. Food was excellent, service very friendly and accommodating, service was fast. We were put on a long table, but was quite thin which made conversation easier but still plenty of room for the dishes. Everyone loved their food. Highly recommended

Very generous servings, we were here on Mussel Mondays $13 per pot! The thai sauce is actually really good! Mariniere sauce was a little underwhelming but the mussels themselves still tasted great. The chunky fries were delish and fried well! We got the mushroom fritter and it was very colourful and filled with all sorts of vege but underseasoned. Heads up, you can’t use zomato in conjunction with the daily deals! Great beers on tap too!

I organized a speed dating event on 30 May 2021. We booked in a part of the Bar. The staff was brilliant. Young Emma was very helpful. Helen was brilliant from the day since I got in touch regarding the event. Food was great. Highly recommended.

Have been here for breakfast and dinner and both times it has been great. The staff are very friendly and it is in a good location in Takapuna. Food and drink options are great and you can often nab yourself a cheaper drink or meal if you go at the night times when they have their daily specials on.

Massive portions! Great pub food and surprisingly bright and well lit interior. Went on a Sunday and me and the girls were able to have a great catch up without the pub craze of a friday or saturday night. Best of both world.

Great time! Kids' menu is more varied than the usual and also included some veggies - yay! My kids devoured their mac 'n' cheese, grilled chicken, and burger. I loved the Porterhouse, and the staff were friendly and attentive. My kids played a game of chess on the supplied board while we waited for our food. Will definitely return!

This is our second time dining at this restaurant. As with the first time, we are very pleased with the quality of food and excellent service. The prices are also reasonable. We requested for a cola beer and although it was not on the menu, they served us with a delicious cola beer. We love the joyful ambience and good music. One of the best restaurants in the North Shore.

Great food, excelent selection, we have used the First table app here and each time it saves us a huge amount of money. A $134 meal cost me $70, 2 entrees plus 3 mains and a drink. You can't beat that in a Takapuna restaurant. And the staff were awesome. Ate there 10 Nov 2020 at 5.30pm. Great staff working and so friendly . Highly recommended.

Really good food, great actually excèllent walked in waiter took us to our table within seconds. looked at menu ordered steak well done n mash potato n side veges arrived at table within 30 mins I thought was pretty fast food had really yummy flavours the best steak I've had and I dine out reguarly were coming back in 2 weeks time... staff 5 out of 5 food 5 out 5 atmosphere 5 out 5 relaxed great place and highly recommended to all the drinks are yum to. A plus plus thanks again for awesome service n delicious food...

The food was excellent, really tasty and portion size was excellent. As a group of 4 adults we got the cooked platter (I forget the name) it's quite large with a great variety of food. After that we only ordered two mains because there was no way we would have been capable of eating any more. One star was lost due to service, I had to ask several times for water, and the staff on duty were hard to wave down. They did do spot checks on the area we were seated but they just as quickly left before I was able to wave them down. Overall well enjoyed, would go again.

Nice place. Came here for a friends birthday one Saturday evening. Not too big or small, Wilson carpark building not far from it. Tapas plates were yummy. I'm not a drinker so can't comment on the alcohol. Would try and come back to try the food side of it. Staff friendly and attentive. Would definitely try again

Nice enough spot for a drink, and some relatively basic food. The menu is reasonably limited, but the food is done fairly well. The range of on tap beers is pretty impressive (almost larger than the list of mains). One of our group had the red wine sangria and it was very sub-par, all who sampled felt it was akin to watery cordial. The mushroom cheese fritter vegetarian main was actually quite good.

Very loud & hot on a rugby night where we were seated. Food was tasty & reasonably priced. Cocktails yummy! Some bar staff need a little more training in waiting tables / customer service as was not asked if we want more drinks, told to order at bar for drinks & food & think it was the manager seemed a bit brisk with his communication.

Great place. Went for dinner and drinks before show at bruce mason centre. Was taco Tuesday, they were yum! The chili fish was good amount of spice and great flavour. Called in for a late dinner and was very impressed. Awesome service by an extremely helpful young man for whom nothing was too much trouble. Great atm osphere and decore with nice rustic feel. Had chicken parmigama which was very tasty and a substantial serving. Entree of potato skins was a meal in itself and nicely done. We sat for some time and ordered more drinks as we felt very relaxed and comfortable enjoying the atmosphere and watching people go by. The whole time the staff would come by at appropriate intervals and see if we needed more more drinks or anything else. Meals were delicious and very filling. Place was very clean and service was outstanding. Young man helped with our tourist questions and was knowledgeable as well. Service 10/10 food, 9.5, atmosphere 9 Loved it and will be back, highly reccomended.

The 3 piece band on Friday night 28th Feb, they are fantastic. What voices!! And the guy on the drums, awesome, loved watching you. We had the best night out that we have had for a very long time. The crowd that were there were very welcoming and made us feel part of their big group. We will be back for a Friday night next time we're in Taka and hopefully these guys will be playing !!!.....(from Hawkes Bay)

Came for a pre-show meal with my partner. Pros - lovely front of house staff, nice atmosphere and good drink selection Cons - our food took an age to arrive and when it came my chicken burger was burnt to a crisp and my partner had the wrong order. We were refunded for the price of the burger but because we ran out of time I went to the show very hungry!!

Takes great pride seemingly in the history of the building with Rangitoto brewing co signs all over one wall but almost exclusively sells standard big nz brewery beers. A shame as has potential to fill a big gap in the Takapuna bar market.

That being said, this was advertised for a night where meals were buy one, get one free so we essentially paid a deposit for nothing. Not impressed.
