Cozy environment for after work and weekends drinks. Located in the centre of Newmarket. Very convenient.

Been meaning to write this for a while...my Mum has her 60th birthday here in May. We thoroughly enjoyed the venue, the food was great, the drinks great, the staff really friendly and helpful and all for a good price. Many thanks for a great occasion and we will most likely be back!!

Classic steak & chips, generous serving, very nice meal

Great atmosphere for a couple of quiet drinks or so and some pool. Easy place to wind down after long day and great customer service, plus cheap booze hehehe

Stopped by after work for a drink and a bite. They had a fairly nice selection of beers and food. I went with the lamb rump and it was nice. Cooked well and nice flavour. There was also a fair amount of lamb on it. It was a bit on the pricey side ($30) but was quite tasty. They did have table service but ended up ordering at the bar.

Efficient service, typical pub food and vibe. We started with some cheesy garlic bread. It was a good size but could’ve been a bit more garlicky. For mains we got egg and steak which came with onion rings and chips. Steak was cooked rare. We also tried the southern fried chicken burger which came with chips. Nice big portion sizes. They have a lot of tap beers to choose from. Nice $10 cocktails. Waitresses were efficient at offering more drinks and getting any extras that we asked for.

Chicken and mushroom pie was nice and hot and tasty. Dish was deceptive though, not as deep as you think. Mum found a bone in her roast pork meal. Waitress said she would show the chef, that was all. No apology. Could have choked or anything...

I haven't had any food over here but had few beers. Mainly, i was there to attend NZ irish fest. I enjoyed the live music played by McSweeney Brothers!. Plus, i also participated in irish dance. It was so lively and enjoyable. The ambience of the place is so cool and staffs were so amazing and friendly.

Came here with a few friends after a Saturday afternoon out in the Domain. Food was good and staff were friendly. Would definitely come back.

I look forward to coming here most days after work. Such a nice chill environment to wind down after work and play a game of pool with mates. Also, excellent chicken wings!

Great night here. Fantastic service for a pub. There was a band playing, really enjoyed them and their playlist. We ordered a dish each plus a couple of sides. Food hit the spot, DELICIOUS! The portions are LARGE....beware of the food sweats. Thank you!

Service. 5. Fast, polite and table service without running a tab. Facilities. 5 warm, clean and toilets although a bit tired, were clean. Outdoor tables. Food. 4 we had the nachos and bangers and mash. Above average and a little pricey. Drinks 5 great selection of alcohol and non alcohol options Overall 4.75 rounded to 5

I visited there after our Zumba MC. It's the great bar as fantastic warm atmosphere. We enjoyed beautiful food and drinks. Also the staff are so friendly!! I really enjoyed the night with my friends because of their lovely hospitality! Highly recommend the place for your party, dating or whatever!!

Excellent food and service plus the price for steak, eggs, chips and salad was $13.50. Cooked perfectly! You got to go and try. Value for your money!

Had a group of seven for a Sunday night steak dins with drinks. Very accommodating staff and super nice of them to keep us around playing pool just before closing up. Would definitely return!

Thanks Winnie and the team, I was lucky to attend 2 private functions at Doolan Brothers recently. The food was amazing on both occasions, the staff were very friendly. Really nice premises to bring family and friends together to celebrate.

Winnie and the team are AMAZING! We celebrated our dear friend's 65th birthday on Saturday 12/06. The friendly staff were phenomenon - always there to assist, smiling and you could see they were a close unit/team. The drink specials were so reasonable and the food was OUTSTANDING! Definitely will be going here again no questions asked. Please check them out!

Hosted an event here and everyone loved the place. The Room was really nice and spacious, lighting was amazing. Food was a 10/10. They really flexible with timings and the staff were very friendly. Had a great time here.

Very yummy food. Relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Got to see some bros slav squat on the bar counter. Pleasant 80-90s music. Oldschool architecture gives a fun vibe.

Wowed by our experience here thanks for the great night AMAZING KAI... the prices were affordable and waaaayyyy worth it. The vibe was great good mix of music our 40 group had enough space for chit chat area dance area, topped with cheap jugs and deelish food will be taking my kids here next weekend the whole 9 of them 😍 quality fresh tasting really good cooked food and this ticked all the boxes delish vegetarian food as well the chicken and slides were my go too :))

Came here about 2 weeks ago, great atmosphere! Lovely food. The two girl waitresses were lovely and made me feel very welcomed. Would definitely recommend to others and will deffs be back again :)

Really has captured the pub vibe. If you're looking for a taste of home, this'll do the trick. Beer was affordable, and they have Kilkenny's on tap. Food was nice also (Steak and Guinness pie). Can't fault them on anything really, hence 5 stars.

Recently visited the venue for two separate occasions, a Zumba farewell and a 65th birthday party. Food was awesome. Service was great. Good place to hang out if you want to chillax with great company.

This place was fantastic. Brilliant customer service. They even decorated the tables for us for our team Christmas lunch. The food was really tasty. I highly recommend eating here or stopping in for an afternoon drink. Say hi to Jacqui and the crew.

Went there for lunch with some colleagues and it was awesome. Staff were great, food and drink were great too. Also brilliant to see pool and darts too. We had a mean afternoon and reccomend big time.

This place is incredible. We recently held our engagement party here and the staff were nothing but amazing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to host a party, the entire team will really make you feel like you're looked after. Very spacious! We had a big corner of the pub booked for about 40. It was great fun. Plenty of other areas for public so we were not disturbed at all. Toilets were clean and tidy. Free lemon infused water for the sober Ds and a pool table as well 👍

I was impressed with the staff here, as they let me in early when I needed somewhere to sit and write up some meeting notes. I arrived as they were getting ready, about 20 minutes before there opening time. But they happily let me in and gave me a glass of water. I came back later and had lunch here with a friend. Food was pretty good. Took a fair while to deliver the meals after we ordered them, and even though we were at an inside table, they had doors to the outdoor seating area open, and the smell of smokers drifted through, which was a little unpleasant. Overall good service though.

An Old Towne style pub atmosphere from wall to wall. Really spacious with plenty of seating, TVs, and a projector screen for the rugby games. Indoor fireplace too as well as a pool table. Beer selection is the very basics but they do pour Guinness so, you know, get one.

Great place, specially over the weekend. Quick service, really good food and game nights are amazing. It's a hangout place n assures a great time when you visit with friends. their house wine is to kill for :)

Good but pretty standard pub. Good selection or beer and wine. Great place for a group drink. Popular as an after work venue on a Thursday and Friday afternoon. 2 snooker tables if you enjoy an occasional game, $2 per game.

Great decor and service, with a good range of modern pub food at reasonable prices. Only problem is parking options, so if you're travelling from outside the area give yourself some time to find an on-street park or use the Davis Crescent carparking building (if you prefer to avoid Wilson carparking as I do)

I have not eaten here yet or even had a beer here but last year I lost my wallet with all my essential plastic cards. A female waiter who works here found it and returned it to me. I thought what a truly honest person and any business would be so pleased to have someone so kind to a stranger work with them. So, I am giving 5 stars to a tremendous person from this much respected premises.

We had the pleasure of holding our daughters 21st here. The staff were more than helpful with our requests for anything we needed to make the evening a special night. The staff are a credit to an already outstanding venue. A special thankyou to Sasha, Sean and the amazing lovely manager (I'm sorry we cannot remember your name) we really did have an amazing experience. We will be back!

It had good service the manager was easy to talk to also the food was very nice,but on the down side the one bargirl and waitress were having personal conversations very loudly also swearing alot.great place to watch the ufc.

10 of us had a dinner 9 people were served and 1 had to wait 30 mins after the others before his plate came. The food was good but the service needs to improve on thursday night. However the bar was very quiet

We dined in on what was a very cold night. There were a few fellow diners who also braved the cold too. It was out first time there under the Doolan Brothers banner. We opted for the $20 special for a roast beer and a pint. The barman did offer a pint of soft drink for the non drinker instead. Our meals arrived after a short wait. We all commented that it was very good for the price charged. Sufficient portions of meat and vegetables. We were too full to attempt dessert. For one of our diners it was the second consecutive night of having this special, he still enjoyed it. The decor is a typical English themed style pub !

Doolans brothers is your typical pub on the corner, wouldn't write home about it but it has decent food, nice friendly service and a good atmosphere. I got the steak and it was just a tad overcooked the veges were a wee cold but the potatoes gratin was nice. Also got a side of fries which were really good.

Went there for hubby's xmax breakup (Legacy)🍻 Awesum night. Excellent service🥂food was delicious 🍖 cooked perfectly🍗Atmosphere warm, inviting and rustic. Toilets clean and tidy. Best of all the 2 guy band Rocked the night away 🤗. Overall was a fantastic night...Thank you to all the staff for such great night👌

Dark and outdated decor. Food is standard, get what you pay for so don’t expect anything great. Despite that I had a good few drinks here for a mates birthday. Good range of drinks!

Food was good (standard pub fare) and cooked and delivered to our table quickly. Portion size was generous. Wasn't that crowded for a Friday night.

Spent several evenings here reviewing rugby matches during British & Irish Lions Tour 2017. Warm welcome, great beer, great food, great staff, pool table, wide screen tv's, with a brilliant night after final test at Eden Park.

What makes this place stand head and shoulders over others is the service. I went to watch a AB Bledisloe Cup game on Saturday night and being in the mature age group, I appreciate the "above and beyond" service that we received. The food was good too and you get what you pay for, equalling value for money. Our barman Scottie was just amazing and ready to accommodate any request. The security staff were personable and friendly. I am so pleased that what I consider good ol Kiwi hospitality exists within this organisation. Congratulations Danny Doolans.

People don't come here for some reason. Might be the snobby craft beer bar nearby. Well, this place has more space inside so you don't have to freeze your tush outside.

One of the best doolan brothers in the cbd with a great pool table and lots of space. I really enjoy the bitchin bingo nights. The bar food is good too.

Very friendly staff eager to help as I am 71 year old on a mobility scooter. Highly recommend this establishment. Very easy access for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

Nice location great for a beer. Last couple of times the barman serving was grumpy .. but that's ok, I didn't have to drink my beer "with" him.

I was there for a quiz night but the loud music was never turned down to accommodate the quiz. We asked but it wasn't turned down so it impacted negatively on the night.

Great pub to go to for a nice dinner or lunch even and they also provide a great service/staff members with a lot of good beers and wines to drink.
