Amazing place to hangout. Nice ambience and service. The highlight is $5.00 pizza during happy hours.

Had a celebration here with friends one weekend and it was FANTASTIC! Their pizzas were a hit, complemented with a lot of drinks and bar food options (the calamari was my favourite), staff was super friendly and accommodating (especially one of the ladies serving our table and the manager that night), ambience and music were fun and casual. Basically, love everything about that night! Highly recommended and will definitely be back 👍

Came in at 12 & it coincided with $5 pizza time. Pizzas are so good! Light crust with plenty of toppings and not soggy or too hard. Perfect. The mint cream on my lamb pizza was so tasty. We also got steak sandwiches doubled up.. our meal was filling. You can choose how you like your steak cooked. As with most new places you tend to overorder but it was worth it. Also they had the Emerson Pale Ale which is one of our faves. Would go back for pizza and beer for sure. Guy on the bar was nice and we paid at the bar although they do provide table service as well. (we just found it easier this way) Water is self serve and menus can be found on the bar.

Came here for an early dinner on a really nice day. There's a good amount of outdoor seating to enjoy sunny weather. Also, the pizza deal ($5 for any pizza between 5 and 7:30) is amazing! There are a lot of different pizzas. The ones I had were great! Would definitely come back here when I'm in the area.

Great place specially for large group up to the size of 10 to hangout. The pizza are really delicious and they have happy hours everyday from 12 to 2 pm and 5 to 7.30 pm which you get all the pizza for just $5 which otherwise costs $12 or more. They also serve drinks. You seat and spend long hours and the staff won't disturb or kick you out. And they keep serving if your hungry... Good for small group as well.

Whether you're looking for happy hour after work drinks, a boogie at night, or a large private event space, Freeman's does cover all of these. The pizza to be honest isn't anything I'll go out of my way for, but I still like the service, decor, and the amount of space. There's outdoor seating below as well as a deck upstairs. Note that there may only be one or two craftbeers on tap if you're looking for that.

Super chill atmosphere on a Monday afternoon. The pizzas are only 5$ between 5pm and 7.30pm which is a super bargain. The waitress was really friendly, quick and generally good at her job. The main seating downstairs is on bar stools and there is plenty of light coming in to the bar which is nice. Great place to chat with friends in the afternoon.

Really nice lunch experience ! Unlike some other people that reviewed the place : we found the customer service great ! The staff greeted us with a smile once we entered and handed us menus , orders will be taken at the table. We decided for 2 of their $5 pizzas. About 5 minutes after ordering, my partner had a change of mind and the waitress was very nice about it and managed to change our order. We had the Salami & Funghi Pizza as well as the Funghi Pizza. Both came out within 15 minutes and were of decent size. We ordered a serve of their $12 Fish and Chips after. Fish was yummy aswell as the fries. Our bill was only $32 including the food above and 2 cokes. Definitely recommending this place and coming back for drinks at nighttime:)

Food is delicious though the service is quite slow. Been there twice with work mates for lunch and both times I had ordered fish and chips they were out of fish so I had the chicken sandwich instead and that was yum. Their Rose Wine Sangria was so good! Then once with my husband, they also didn't have fish, so we had the pizza special and they were delicious! :)

Despite having a wonderful time last year this place has sunk to a low that means you should NOT go there. With wonderful Bars either side this place is now a last resort. If you want to be spat on by yobos from the first floor and treated rudely by bar staff this is your place. When I complained to the duty Manager he was totally innefectual. We were told that you couldnt order cocktails after 9pm because they took too long to make. There is a reason this place is like a Ghost town nightly . Just dont go! (last year) We had a wonderful evening here.. The drinks were awesome (check out the Long Island iced tea) and the staff friendly and welcoming. The bar provided everything we could want for a winter celebration. Support this business they are doing a great job.

The service tonight was on point. Not sure the name of my waitress but she was lovely! (young pretty Asian girl) The pizzas were yummy and cheap. Will be back again for sure! Highly recommended.

I have been there in the late afternoon, so I avoided the busy hours. The service was nice and the pizza are really good. I also have calamaris and fries and I have nothing to complain. They have fair prices and a great loyalty program, check their website for it and you can get some discounts. The location, in the heart of Ponsonby Road, is another good point.

$5 pizzas during happy hour (around 5-7pm each night) - what’s not to like? And so many flavours to choose from, including lots of decent vegetarian options. The arancini balls and spring rolls are well worth ordering, and provide much better value on their own than ordering the platters - a word to the wise! The sangria jugs are pretty delicious too

Great pizza at decent prices is you get their $5 pizza deal between 5-7.30pm each night. The rest of their food selection is a little limited. Awesome rewards programme and usually decent enough live music. Trivia night is pretty good. Service can be a bit slow meaning you are in for a wait (they need more waitresses on during their dinner hours) and it's not always the cleanest place... But it's a cheap and cheerful local.

Lunch with friends here. Great to have booking be successful as the last time I tried the venue was close, although I got a reminder of lunch booking that day. So we ended up going next door to 39 Cafe. I also received an email request a day later asking how my visit was? Duh!!! I must ask my friend if she got the same survey today! My cajun chicken was ok, I did debate asking them to heat mine up a bit more as was very lukewarm to cool. Couldn't finish our lunch with coffee as they had no milk. That was a bad look especially as there is a dairy a couple of doors down. Got an amazing coffee at 39 Cafe.

Great lunch and dinner option - definitely go during their $5 pizza deal. Lots of different pizza options. Only negative feedback was takeaway boxes were $3. Bring your own if you plan to order lots :)

The $4 pizza is the reason why I go here. They have a big selection of pizzas to choose from and they've all been delicious so far. The drink prices are a bit high and waiting a bit for your food is normal unless it's something other than pizza. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere of the place is chilled and laid back while being trendy. I would love it if they had drink specials but I'll keep coming back for the pizza at least.

Not bad. The heaters weren't working. Cheap pizza. They do gluten free bases (extra charge). Food tasty. Place smells of beer but it is a pub so....

They do $5 pizzas for happy hour and cheap beer too. The pizzas are definitely worth every penny. The place has a nice feeling to it and also turns an area into a dance floor after 9pm most nights.

The cheap pizza deal here is probably the best deal in all of ponsonby. The staff are always welcoming here and the food is so good. I’ve come back multiple time and there’s always plenty of people around. If you haven’t tried this place before, definitely worth it. The pizza deal is only at specific times, so be sure to plan ahead. I don’t know what time it starts, but I think it ends at 2 pm.

Casual environment with good value pizzas during set times of the day. Decent house brand tap beer and a wireless customer reward scheme. The outdoor seating is a great spot to watch the comings and goings of a busy Ponsonby road.

This place is amazing, good pizza at a great price. the rest of the menu is a little overpriced so I don't know why anyone would order anything apart from pizza. On another note, really high concentration of gingers here. The ratio of gingers to other hair colours is far higher than anywhere else which has to be a good thing.

Regular for the Tuesday Pub Quiz nights. Food is decently tasty, but good value on quiz nights ($5 for a pizza). Quiz is really fun and one of the best in Auckland that I have been to.

$5 pizza at lunch is a rare find for good, affordable food! The portions are a good size and an exceptional value. I certainly plan to come back!

Great little hangout for lunch time or after work, the $4 pizza between 11-1 & 5-7 (approx) is great! Amazing gourmet toppings, it's an absolute steal for the price. R18 only due to beer license though.

Went here for pizza special - and they're great! We ordered a range and all of them were perfect - especially the garlic prawn!!! Cocktails are good, beer was great - prices are a bit steep, but I suppose that's Ponsonby.

I love the $5 pizza here! Plus, for signing up to their loyalty program you can get a free pizza and $10 voucher per person that joins! Thoroughly recommended.

This place is awesome, good food and $4 pizzas from 12-2pm and 5-7:30pm (double check the times though). You can indulge in food for a few bucks. And they have trivia nights and DJs spinning too. Totally recommended.

We hit the $5 pizza happy hour, perfect for our large group, very friendly staff, helpful and attentive. The mojitos are amazing!

You can get a delicious $5 pizza between 12-2pm & 5-7.30pm. Our favourite pizzas are Pollo e Brie & Mirtillo e Brie. You must try here you won't be disappointed.

Good pizza, great fried chicken. Used grabone which stated bookings via phone essential however after an afternoon of calling with no answer decide to go in and risk it to be told their phone has never worked. Other than that great place.

Went here two days in a row! One lunch and another dinner (for Father's day). $4.00 Pizzas are really good, cheap and affordable. I personally liked the Pollo e Brie and La Fiesta best but the rest are also gourmet so you can't really go wrong. Beer battered fries are BOMB! They are really delicious and filling as well with the pizzas. Drink-wise, I tried the White wine Sangria and Rose Sangria. Rose Sangria is really good! However, I went here ages ago and ordered 'The Hipster' which was not really good, pretty trash tbh. In saying that, I really liked the customer service in all occasion. BEN is the man. He is the bartender who made the Sangrias and also served us during lunch time. Somebody give this man a pay rise! Seriously, customer service was good and this dude was chill as. Highly recommend trying it out!

On saturday's evening you can get the $12 dollar pizza for only $4 dollars each. You can order wine, beer, cola, coffee and other drinks. Sometimes might take a while to have your order ready, but you can enyoy the music and the chatering with your friends. They have a really nice staff too.

It was lovely. The waiting staff were incredibly friendly and polite, even in the face of a barrage of questions. They were more than accommodating when I requested drinks not on the menu and were responded quickly to our orders

Ultimate value meal. At selected hours, you can get all their pizzas at $5. Good meal and excellent service overall. Highly recommended.

This two-storey bar/club on Ponsonby Road has never disappointed. The music is good, so are the drinks and food. The staff is friendly and entrance is free! (At least most times I went)

If you're in the neighborhood from 1700 to 1930, be sure to grab yourself some four dollar pizza! There are plenty of veggie options, and they don't wimp out on the toppings (I personally loved la Fiesta best, with sour cream, corn chips, beans, and jalapeños) if it's warm, grab a seat outside and soak in the sun!

Excellent service, good food, and because we went at the right time, excellent prices. (On the food at least; $4 pizzas!!!) Will absolutely be back again.

Have been here s few times,on the Saturday of Pride Parade we visited for a bite and a few drinks before the parade.The place was packed as expected but the staff were well organized and the service was great and of course the $5 pizzas were a big hit,love this place.

Service wasn't great stood around for ages I think they ignored me because they thought I was underage but I had ID and just wanted a pizza. But after some time I got my beer and pizza and was happy with the rest of my evening.

Five dollar pizzas were awesome!! Six dollar orange juice was not... no zero alcohol beer.

Brilliant place, been here so many times with the missus. Pizzas EXCELLENT. Very decently priced. Upstairs has a really good atmosphere with brick walls and exposed rafters.

Good place for a drink in Ponsonby. Lacks the pretentious atmosphere of most Ponsonby spots. Pub quiz on Tuesday nights too.

The shop had $4 pizza during dinner time. We were all surprised at how inexpensive our bill was when it arrived.

Food came pretty out late on a not too busy lunchtime hour. Otherwise, $5 pizzas are a good price.
