An amazing venue for all events! Often hosting Drum & Bass this bar is notorious for being the hottest place on a Friday or Saturday night!

I went to a latin party here. It started good, but then the dj changed and he played only reggaeton music, no salsa, merengue or latin hits. So it was boring to hear only reggaeton and we left. It says "grill" and no food is offered at night. Only drinks :(

Went for a Latin Brazilian night with my girlfriend and a group of friends. The DJ was awful and next to no one was dancing. Mainly because you couldn't dance to whatever he was doing to the music. He would play a song but put a different beat over the song, so you had a song with two different beats (both of which were way too fast) and a whole room of people just standing there looking at each other. Also he would play about 10 seconds of a good song and then switch to a different one with a different vibe/beat/melody so you really couldn't dance or even enjoy the music at all. 3 stars since the bar staff were awesome and the drinks were super cheap! Definitely won't be going back if that DJ is there to ruin another night

Was my first visit and I had a ball with my colleagues. After I had enough at the work Christmas party I headed down to meet up with those already there but it was also a farewell for one of the team. The indoor outdoor flow was perfect as was the music which was a creatively arranged meshup of 90's right through to today. I drank, I danced, I sang and left a lot happier than when I arrived. So if your looking for a real chilled back space you can hang with a loved one or a group of mates, head down to Pointer's Bar & Grill where you can have all that and enjoy yourself at the same time. Good place to sit down and enjoy a few drinks down the Viaduct. They're very generous especially when it's happy hour

. (12/2018) Pointers Bar & Grill is located over Lower Hobson street and can be easily spotted on the roadside from a moving vehicle in normal traffic. Well maintained and organised. Spacious seating. Nice ambiance. Service is well-timed and cordial. Plentiful food options although limited choice for vegetarians and almost no choice for vegans unless requested specifically. Table service. Outdoor seating is available. Good for groups and celebrations. Reservation can be made in advance and is recommended for big groups. Good for quick visits. There is no dedicated parking area available although ample paid parking spaces can be found around. Entrance is wheelchair accessible. PayWave facility is available at this location.

Monday night quiz nights are a blast! Great deal on pizzas on Mondays as well. Food is great and drinks are always made well.

Good sound system, nice deck if your a chain smoker and still want to socialise. They play alot of drum and bass if your swing that way

I went to the latín party, expensive drinks with almost no alcohol ( the vodka with Redbull was almost all Redbull , same with the piscola AND the fernet). Edit: I wasn't aware of the regulation about alcohol, it's seems that its the same in almost all other bars in Auckland, thanks for your reply.

I have a recurring booking at Pointers each month for a work\community event. Team there are very helpful and pleasure to deal with, great venue very handy to parking and central location
