Had a small birthday dinner here in downstairs private section. Busy spot however still a nice ambient feel inside 😊 Good, kind and attentive customer service - staff done really well under pressure as it was a busy Thursday night. Food was good + portion size & price. Surf & turf in particular was yummy and mussels. The steak chips were bomb!!! Photos don't show how amazing they are.. Ribs probably won't order again. 👌 keen to go back and try other things on menu

A salute my love this place! Especially coming here for a nice lunch or evening dinner. Prices in my opinion are slightly high but I’ll have to admit, it’s really worth it. Portion sizes are perfect as well. If I had to recommend one meal, it would have to be the crispy chicken burger! Close runner-up would be any of the pizzas they have too

We went here today for mothers day. Service was great, the set menu was awesome, large prawn entree, beautiful lamb and veges, and ginger steam pudding. The staff are amazing, and Hat's off to the chef! Bro that lamb was cooked to perfection.

Awesome place and the best bar staff. Good happy hour deals and the food is really nice. Their tap beer is the best I have had and I think it is due to the fact that they maintain the temperature in their chillers and the kegs are changed often for fresh beer. Very safe place on any night. Their security guys are very friendly and take no non sense at all.

Absolutely beautiful meals. We got pork spare ribs, surf & turf, scallops and garlic pizza bread. Totally unfaultable! Credit to the chef!! Our waiter was fabulous too. He looked after us well. Great bang for your buck. Very decent serving sizes. With this quality of food I'm surprised the Republic Bar and Kitchen 'restaurant' isnt busier. We will definately be back for another meal sometime soon.

The staff here are always attentive when we go there ready with a menu..This is the place we like to go spoil ourselves. The food is real good..And the jug of beer is even great.. There's a waitress there that always serves us when we go in she is an absolute angel i love and enjoy her hospitality. And the new manager I assume who's always ready to greet people make them feel comfortable at the same time doing everything else to ensure things are running smoothly. I highly recommend this place no doubt!

The service and food was amazing. However, at the entrance when we first came in, this guy maybe one of the staff, he just told us that they are fully booked without even checking our name and the time of booking. Luckily one of the staff told him that there is a confirmed booking for 2 at 6pm.

Service was great, nice indoor/outdoor flow, very spacious inside for dining and room hire for special occassions. Not sure if they had happy hour on saturday as we were never told about it and didnt see any signs of happy hour. I woudnt say the pizza was worth $25 though....bit too pricey for just bacon, bit of chicken, cheese and bbq sauce.....also got the steak and chips w/mushroom sauce, would not recommend the mushroom sauce...it was more like gravy with the taste, again pricey with just chips, steak and mushroom sauce...no vegies or salad comes with it meal.....

I don’t know how was under the old management, but this new management is making this place looks amazing. We had dinner last Saturday because we purchased the offer from GrabOne. We ordered a large shared plate and pizza. It came quickly and was superb! Staff is friendly and always ready to assist us. It looks great inside, beer was in perfect temperature and kids enjoyed a lot too. Worth a visit!

We have made Republic our local. With new warm and inviting atmosphere and top customer service that accompanies the value for money. The good selection is great, with lunch and dinner specials. The Pizzas are truly heavenly. Drink specials all round, with a wide selection from top-shelf to ice cold beers. Remarkable venue for private functions too, with very well price catering options for all occasions. Keep up the great work team !!

Stopped by for dinner before a movie. Didn't have to wait long after entering before I was able to get a table. The bar is on one side while the dining area is on the other. After getting menus I ordered a starter and a main. The starter came out first and once that was finished I got the mains. The calamari was nice and crispy but thought it was a bit too salty. The ribs were ok. The ribs tasted mostly of the sauce so the coleslaw and wedges that came with it made the meal more enjoyable to give different textures and flavours. Portions for both were decent. I wasn't too rushed with the meal even though I had a movie to go to. The waitresses were friendly and made the meal more enjoyable.

Great place for those who need a drink after a long hard day at work! The dining area provides a bit of privacy and dulls the noise from punters who are there to have a good laugh with their buddies. The food is great and reasonably priced. Alcohol a bit pricey but they do have a good 'bucket' deal on RTD's. I was also told they have an upstairs area with a TV for those that want to watch a bit of sports (to go with their beers). Pretty cool place to hang out 😀 🍺🍻 🍽🥗

It was my family's first time dinning here on Mothers day, I herd the food was great, customer service wasn't too bad, if there were more workers on that day, it would of been challenging, we had waited for two hours for ourer meals cause there were only two cooks at present, by the time our food arrived, we kinda lost our appitite but we eventually enjoyed the meal, I can understand times are hard, but In a busy place like this you should be prepared at all times, I'm a chef myself and I know the pressure is always the key. Great service. Owner regularly moves around to pay attention to patrons. Beers selection was great. Facilities were excellent and well maintained. I’ve had several lunch and dinner trips which never disappointed. Those in the know recommend the fish chasers!!! I’ve seen family and office gatherings in the meeting and private function facilities often. Definitely recommend for social night or just generally hanging out.

My partner had her first day back at work lunch there, not impressed with the fettuccine. It was sloppy, runny and soupy. Fettuccine is supposed to be creamy and rich and it was very lackluster. Otherwise the lemon lime and bitters drink was good and the chips are yum. Cool venue for an event.

My favorite bar in South Auckland for quality food, great ambiance and super friendly staff. Chefs are also very flexible and are able to personalize certain menus. Also appreciate their meeting room which is well serviced, very functional and located very central, next to the manukau mall. I have had few functions there and we were looked after very well, great package options. It's also a very safe place and the owners make an effort to enforce public safety with multiple security guards. The owner Shaneel is also a very compassionate social entrepreneur, very deeply involved with community work in Sth Auckland. Oh, don't forget to try their masala fish with a hint of pacific Fiji flavor!

Have lived in Sth AKL all my life and this was my 1st time here since it opened many moons ago. Dont know why I waited so long. This place is great. We booked for 20+ adults and they allowed us to put in our orders at time of booking so our meals were practically ready not long after arriving. Staff and service was also fantastic. I wish I could give the experience a four or even five star rating and even though the service and hospitality were excellent, I was pretty disappointed with continuously having to ask for things, and what's more, the fish I ordered tasted more like it was poached in oil (rather than pan fried) which is what was offered on the 'Chef's Selection' menu and I have to say, did not taste fresh! I was left with an unsettled stomach and concluded I would most definitely NOT order 'pan fried fish' if I were to return to this restaurant. This is in no way a reflection on the staff of the establishment for their friendliness and readiness to serve but let's face it, when you're told it's pan fried, pan fried is what you expect to receive! And it wasn't even all that hot! Certainly NOT like it had just come from a hot frying pan! More like a microwave!

The team lead by driven entrepreneur Shaneel and Head Chef Rajeev provide exceptional levels of service, food and fantastic tap beers. I'm constantly impressed by the DJ / Shisha nights they host, providing a great atmosphere and a great place to unwind after a hard day's work. Truly a South Auckland Icon 😀

We had a very good meal. The waitress was attentive and polite. The place was huge and echoed with people talking. It certainly wasnt cosy. We ate early at 6pm and i think that later at night the place becomes a dance club hence the large empty space between the bar and dining area. We will come again because we enjoyed the food. 5stars for food. 2stars for ambiance.

A frequent visitor to NZ from the United States, the Republic bar and kitchen at Manukau City Center has always been a favorite of mine and my family. From friendly attentive staff, to great food and beverages, all served in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Our current visit, however, has been exceptional. Now under new management, the location simply glows. The food is outstanding - best fish and chips we have had in Auckland - a grand selection of beers wines and spirits, wonderful staff and a motivated hands-on managing director. Highly recommended!

Kind and funny bar staff. A fight broke out but the security guards were straight on to it and moved the situation away from the patrons so no one that wasn't involved was hurt. We didn't let a fight dampen our evening and kept the night going at republic. The toilets are up stairs so a bit of a workout. Overall love the good variety of drink specials and the crack up bar tender.

Republic is to Manukau what Finn McCool's (gosh, I miss that place lol) used to be; just more "South-side posh". The food is always tasty; the vibe is quite chill during the day, then gets quite lively the later it gets. It's an excellent spot for an after-movie drink, a before-movie dinner, or as a starting point for your night out.

I really like Republic. It's a pub like a lot of Kiwi pubs - high tables, bar stools, a big TV for the sports minded punter. The prices are average, the food tasty and plentiful but unspectacular, but like every good pub, it's the people who make it good. The staff are friendly and good at their jobs, and the clientele range from teachers to truck drivers, local business folk and students. Friendly, relaxing and fuss free.

Good new menu, very welcoming with a baby for an early quick dinner. Nice little dinning area at the back that is tucked away. Standard sort of bar / pub food menu but tasty. Had the ribs were tender. Didn't bring any water to help clean me up though!! Don't serve sparkling water anymore even though its on the drinks menu - Please serve again, for a breastfeeding mum its my treat when I go out!!

You guy went above and beyond our expectations for Kamal's celebration. The staff were friendly and polite that organizing the party was a breeze all the way from Tauranga. Pretty average bar with overpriced drinks. 1 jug of beer costs $30. There is ample parking available around the mall. The outdoor seating area has large tables and indoor area has smaller tables. There is sports shown on the telly indoors however only selected channels are available. Not recommended for ppv events. There is dining options available from the kitchen as well. The security at the entrance is pretty slack as there is no doorman however the waiters do ask for id's before serving drinks. Toilets are located upstairs.

We asked to see a dessert menu which we were given then we waited nearly 15 mins in which time we didn't even catch sight of a waitress and the place wasn't busy. I went here a couple of years ago. I should have written a review the but i was so angry I would have given it no stars. I met the boss and he was nice is the only reason it gets 3 stars. The barmaid who was on that night was terrible. She was jealous ans tipped my drink out and threw my bag on the floor breaking my mirror inside my bag. I assume it was because I was talking to her boss and we made plans to party later. Completely unprofessional. She was very lucky she didn't get knocked out by my friend. Instead she hid her ugly ass at the back. I have never been since.

Food is very good at this price point. Can be very busy! We always preorder our meals before Chick's at the Flicks and they always bring it out on time. Definitely recommend booking if you are planning to eat in the evening, as it does get busy.

It was our first time at the Rebublic, and it was o.k. we ordered Coffee, but was told the Coffee machine was not working, but was told we could go and buy our coffee at the Coffee Club. I did go and buy my coffee there, BUT I felt that they could have suggested they substitute that with something else? Meal was just average.

One of the better pubs in the area. There's a lot of rough bars and pubs in the immediate area but Republic is modern, welcoming and professional. They have a solid pub menu and a good range of beers, wines and spirits.
