This is a lovely city interpretation of upmarket Oceanside pub food. The meal in the photo is a $50 aged lamb for 2. Views of the harbour bridge and well served tables that can manage large & rowdy tables.

Pleasantly surprised at great lunch today. Shared plates of Lamb rump, chicken, calamari, pizza and cocktails. Pizza was one of the best I've had for ages. Cocktails were a little bitter and needed more sweetness but service was great!

Perfect place to meet up with friends and break the seal after all the lockdowns, close contact isolation, COVID isolation blah blah blah 😴......the answer Saint Alice, table for five, shared plates and cocktails. Our waitress was so bloody good, music was pumping, kai delicious, excellent cocktails, great place to catch up after so long apart and talk over each other 😂

An open, airy interior with lots of greenery and harbour views. Its a relaxed, casual atmosphere that is more bar than restaurant (expect loud music / large groups). The food and service was great, with both the waitress and bar staff taking the time to talk through the menu with us. The menu is on the pricier side ($20-$25 for a small share plate, $40 for a main), but standard considering its viaduct location and comparable to other restaurants in the area. The only bad thing was that it was super squishy dining on the balcony. Our meals didn't fit on the table (share plates that arrived simultaneously) and you barely had any room/ had to interrupt diners either side of you to get up from the table....this can be forgiven considering outdoors was a very popular choice in summer.

Took my friend here for lunch on her 40th birthday. I think this detail wasn't noted by staff when I made my booking (even a passing remark to my friend would've been sufficient). Other than this - the view, service, and food made up for the oversight. Everything was delish however, I wasn't a fan of the cheescake. When our waiter asked for feedback I did pass it on so that was good. My friend's dessert was so scrummy - I'd certainly order that next time if it's on the menu! Will be going back for sure.

The pizza was really yummy, staff very friendly and helpful. The location is superb, I was seated on the balcony where I could see the bridge, part of the harbour, a lot of boats while a gentle breeze blew away the hot. It is the right place for a beer, too.

Overall good atmosphere but don’t expect to hear any conversation easily with the amped up music. Food was OK - I felt there was no relief from oil. Surprisingly, the best dish was the tomato and stracciatella cheese salad. Most disappointing was the $38 flounder drowning in butter sauce. Also pictured are the 1/2 chicken, pork crackling, trevally sashimi, torched tua tuas, fried chicken, and fries. I’d consider returning for drinks and snack meals only.

We pre-booked and were greeted with a great seat overlooking the harbour for an America’s Cup race day. We received excellent service from Hannah and the bluff oysters, truffle fries and kiwi tacos were all delicious. A lovely spot with a very good wine list. Thanks!

My husband I had quick afternoon drink on Saturday ordered one plate and some wine. The plate was beautifully presented and delicious with variety of condiments. But best of all, I praise the lady who served me answering my question on some of the very tasty condiments I had. (because I wanted to buy them by myself ) She even wrote the names of them for me! Nice view and good service. Well designed interior. The staff had recommended muffine, It was buttery to me. If they use different sauces, spicy and tangy, it will be better taste with buttery and crispy muffine. Might be I like plain bread... just saying. Still good with beer. Also I had saffran pasta, sauce was good nice and well balanced taste. but the pasta itself was over seasoned and couldnt taste saffron to me. I will back to try other menu later. Thanks guys.

Came here for cocktails with some friends and despite the great company was underwhelmed with the cocktails ! Not much of a selection, and wasn’t all that happy with my choice, so ended up ordering off-menu an espresso martini and that was pretty good. Had the corn toast with snapper - delicious. Great location with nice views, friendly service, but the music was a little loud for 7pm when you’re trying to have a conversation.

I hosted a birthday party at Saint Alice in July and everything was fantastic! The food was delicious and my guests really appreciated the extensive menu. The drinks were yum and so gorgeous too. What really made the night memorable was the fantastic & friendly service - Morgan, Rayna and the rest of the team were so, so lovely and considerate. Morgan was incredibly patient when it came to booking the venue and dealing with my incessant emails. Rayna was an absolute delight as she was always checking up on us, ensuring everything was going well. I will definitely be back for more! Highly recommend Saint Alice for a casual dinner or bookings for big parties too.

Very cool place in the viaduct and lots of things to like. Such as the independent and well chosen beverage list, funky decor and interesting menu. Unfortunately, on the night we went anyway, the food ideas were good but the execution was poor. And I know it's the viaduct and rent is astronomical but $14 for a bowl of chips is pretty full on.

Had a booking here for my mum and sister's birthday dinner and we definitely had a good time! The ambience and the food was amazing- we had a couple of the large sharing plates and it was definitely more than enough for 5 people. The dessert was definitely something i'd go back for!! As for the service, it was okay, staff was friendly but really could be better hence why i'm only giving 4 stars. We had to wait for a couple of the items we ordered which took a while. It was the taste of the food that made it worth it. It would have been nice if we were notified that there would be wait on food because it was kind of busy. At the end we wanted water but there was no one around so we had to serve ourselves. I work in hospo so i understand. We would definitely come back again :)

The food at Saint Alice is good. Unfortunately their service/approach to their customers is not. We arrived early, wanting a quiet glass of wine prior to our meal. On arrival we were told that because it was Easter, we needed to eat, if we wanted a drink. No problem, we were there for a meal. But wouldn't it have been better to ask if we were there for a meal first? And if the answer was just drink, to be directed to the pub 10 metres away? Then we ordered a bowl of chips to go with our first glass of wine and were told, "Chips are not food, you need to order a meal..." Again, no problem, we were there for a, meal. But isn't there a better way of saying this? So we ordered our meal and, because it was still early, asked if we could have it a little later, and were told they would put it on hold until we asked for it. So all good. Until it arrived just after we finished our chips... A minute later, the Floor Manager came to apologise. Again all good, except... he didn't take it away, and tell us to ask for it when we wanted it. So an empty apology. So while the food was good we will not go back. It was clear the owner/manager of Saint Alice is more interested in maximising their nightly take, rather than optimising the experience their customers have while dining at theie restaurant.

St. Alice is a cool, cruisy spot for an afternoon meal or an early evening beverage. The views are spectacular over the harbour and the service is excellent. The surroundings are simple and elegant while allowing the entire space to be drenched in sun. A highly recommended location to visit if in downtown Auckland. Just head up the escalator next to Holey Moley.

When you have visitors from out of town, Or just for a night out and you are looking for that special combination of live music, excellent food and Auckland's viaduct harbour views? this place has it all. The food was delicious, the service - typical warm and friendly NZ. We were 4 adults that shared 2 large plates and 1 small plate. plenty for us: wood-fired ½ chicken kawakawa & manuka rub/wood fired carrots /kamokamo pickle - a touch of spicy, dream combination of sweet and sower with some chutney, corn and goat cheese. The all classic but perfect charcoal feel of 300g wood-fired steak (bavette) cheese fondue/garlic potatoes... Yammmm. And wood-fired lamb sweetbread skewers/mint sauce/yoghurt - very tender but does not taste like lamb. All in all great place - definitely will be back!
