M.Just wanted to share some love for your service yesterday!
Our waitress was so lovely and very accommodating for my low carb lifestyle, even asking if I wanted a side salad and lettuce bun - something I didn't know i could request! Really appreciated her and very thankful 😊
C.Cool spot, and nice staff... but the buttermilk chicken was just okay, kind of bland not spicy or flavourful. And the tatziki sauce I'd an odd combination with southern food. Also, there was A LOT if unused space but we were crammed yogether like sardines. Also, sharing space with smokers feels very 2000 and pretty jarring and yuck.
Overall, not bad, just not great.
C.We held a 30th Birthday here and the staff were so accommodating during red light restrictions. The venue / food and drinks were all great. Organising through Head Office was also a breeze and Belinda was wonderful.
Our only downfall was this one pushy security guard who told us we all had to leave at 11pm, despite being open til midnight :(

Z.Quite surprised by some of the reviews on here. We seriously couldn't fault our night here if we tried our hardest. Started with drinks and went on to order a Meat Sweats Platter, Buttermilk Chicken and Jalapeno Poppers. The service was fast and friendly. A tab was opened for us to keep things simple for ordering. The food arrived rather quickly and made the two of us say wow about 10 times. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for either a drink or a full meal.

C.Very nice stop while walking around CBD today. Had a flight of your local brewery Pale Ale options. Was quite delighted at the taste of each of them. We also had some of the shrimp appetizer and it was delightful. The servers were pleasant and the group in the courtyard was having a great time. Only wish that you had logoed glass growler's for take away (as they were being used as table markers) instead of the plastic bottles. Even a smaller glass container like you serve water in would look good with your decal on it.
L.Sensational evening for my sister’s hens night. From start to finish, the process of booking the function, right down to the manner of the staff on the night, was nothing short of exceptional. D.Good food but service a bit slow and fittings a bit worn. Beers are mostly home made so limited options if you don't want Tiger or heineken. Big enough for 100 plus people if holding a fuction.

J.I hired out the Velvet room for my birthday event and it was everything I expected and more! Staff are super friendly, we had an awesome bartender and the venue was just perfect & intimate. Phoebe was great at assisting on the night with small things such as lighting and music, and Belinda was amazing at sorting behind the scenes and ensuring everything was smooth for the day to come. Definitely recommend for your event, you will not regret!
G.There's a really neat aspect to this place ... Have a beer then get a haircut? Haha interesting for sure. I would easily have given this bar a 5, but I'm skeptical about the late night club vibe and crowd that this place takes on with ropes, bouncers, etc which feels starkly different than what the place is. But during day at least, it's a really well put together place, good day and early evening vibe, good lighting, and spacious outdoor seating. They do have some of their own beers, primarily what's on tap besides the common choices. Lastlyz there's both a DJ anddddd a live band stage
B.We had our joint birthday party at Sweatshop and it was an amazing time! They have a great team who look after you before the event and make everything super easy. There are also heaps of different function spaces available which makes it easy to have something that suits you! We also had some food which was fab - great platters! Thanks team!
L.Came for desert on a Thu night. Nice atmosphere. Music not too loud so you actually have a conversation. Had the apple doughnuts and The Carnival, which was pretty much cinema food all in a bowl. Felt like a kid again 🤣

D.Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen hosted our work Xmas party for 20 people in one of their private rooms. The sit-down meals were great and choice of drinks good. Tap beer was unavailable in the room, but was easily accessed from the main bar. Bar staff were very friendly. They also organised a TV (with sound from speakers) to connect to a laptop for a presentation which was good.

K.VIP room is great if you can hire it out (giant Jenga). Main establishment gets messy and loose later in the night during the weekend. Bar games (pool, table tennis, arcades) around the back. Outdoor area out the front. Gets very busy with long queues in around midnight.
G.I want to say thankyou for a great experience on our team building day. The Sweatshop brew made us feel welcome after opening early for our team. We appreciated the extra effort made to accommodate our needs ,the friendly staff & helpful spirit. The food was awesome and plentiful. The staff had an awesome time with no complaints in the evaluation. It was good we were able to have our day before this present lockdown. We recommend anybody that is planning a team event, ours had 45 people in it, this is the place. Thank you again
A.Went for the resturant month menu, and meal was ok and beer and waitress where great. However meals took a loooonnnng time to come, then when we asked for the bill it took over 20mins for them to sort it out after "a computer muckup".

G.We held a private event at Sweatshop in November 2020 and I could not recommend their services highly enough. Originally this event was meant to be held in August and 3 days prior Auckland went into lockdown.
Mark and the team at Sweatshop were accomodating and supportive in moving the event and there was nothing we asked for that was too much.
From our very first interactions Mark and the team were wonderful to deal with. Our event had 300 attendees and Sweatshop arranged everything from security, the band right through to food for the whole evening. It was amazing value for money and from day one on contacting Sweatshop they kept us in the loop, up to date with all the COVID regulations and were beyond accommodating to all our ideas.
Everything ran perfectly on the night with a full run sheet provided by the team and absolutely no issues at all. The bar staff were great, the DJs and music were perfect and the food provided was perfect. The event staff had given us a number of recommendations around the food with our numbers so we left it in their hands and they got it just right.
If you are looking for somewhere to host an event this is your place. The team is amazing to work with, the venue is great and they provide amazing service throughout the planning and on the night.
We can not thank them enough and would 100% look to use this venue again the future.

N.We held an event here for 200+ people. The staff were EXTREMELY helpful and accommodating. They created bespoke drinks and food menus, dietary tables, managed a drinks token system for us, and were just generally friendly and cool. The food and beer was great too (think high end pub food)! Highly recommend for your next function!!!!

A.Came here on Saturday 27th of June and had such an awesome time and the music was amazing! Only downside was one of the bartenders - he had a red bandana and was the tallest out of the lot. Since we all first arrived he ignored us, wouldn’t even make eye contact and kept serving people that were waiting in the line way after us. I even waved at him once and he looked at me and ignored me. So we had to keep going to the ladies and they were great super attentive and friendly! Not sure what his problem is but he really brings the bar down. Cheer up butter cup 🙃

A.We had our work Function here, about 60 team members. The process of booking an event with Sweat Shop was super easy! The event manager made everything very simple and was so organised.
We were able to have the night the way we wanted it and instead of having to stick to a strict set menu, we were able to pre-order 60 individual meals from there regular menu. Not a lot of dinner venues can cater to 60 people without a set menu, but Sweat Shop could which is one of the reasons we went with them. We didn't want an overly corporate, long table, sit down dinner vibe - the way the area was set up was perfect for us.
We had the boutique brewery and barber shop area closed off for us our team for most of the night, they had even gone to the trouble of putting up a light box sign for us. We had our own bar tender who was great, super funny, efficient, focused and fast.
Amazing vibes, great ambiance, fun pool table / a beer pong table as well (how cool) also, good music! The Live band was so talented and we definitely all enjoyed a good dance.
The service is the best I have had in a long time, and I am defiantly not one to compliment customer service in restaurants in Auckland often, so I was shocked and happy with the service here because of how great it was. Dinner and Drinks all affordable.
Highly recommend for work functions / drinks with a bunch of friends!

We asked Sweat Shop to take drink vouchers which we handed out to each guest, anything over and above the selection on offer guests were able to purchase themselves. They totally nailed it! Service was awesome, very attentive! We also ordered a bunch of pizzas and fries for everyone (food was delicious!) Then a lolly bar was offered as dessert with the birthday cake which they cut and served for us. They even packed up our decorations and had everything ready for us to collect the next day! Thanks Mark and the team, we were really impressed and appreciate you guys going the extra mile :) We'll be back and will recommend this venue to our friends and family.
V.Great place for after work drinks. And even more awesome when they have live music. Staff is very friendly. Lost my bag there once and they kept it safe in the back for me until I could come pick it up.

S.I recently organised an event here for my 21st birthday. Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen was one of the many venue options I considered, but became my final decision, as they had just the requirements I was looking for. Once I booked in a date for the function, the events manager organised everything for me. I simply needed to give her the necessary details, and they were able to sort everything else out for me, which put so much pressure off my shoulders. On the night of the event, everything ran very smoothly. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The venue itself is very nice and clean as well. Everyone loved the food (pizzas were very popular), and the overall vibe of the venue definitely made the event much better. I will definitely consider returning for an event, as well as recommending it for somebody else's.
T.I went to this place with a few friends and we were definitely not disappointed. We were greeted warmly when we got there and the service was brilliant. The food was so delicious and the value was excellent compared to the other places we already tried in Auckland. The atmosphere was 10/10 and so was the venue. Definitely coming back soon.

m.hosted my 21st here, they were so amazing! i didn't have to do a thing - they completely looked after me. they cleaned everything for me and even packed away all of my leftover things. the staff were incredibly friendly and so helpful, everyone was always willing to lend a hand! 10/10 would reccommend + the food is to die for :)) (espesh the pizza and fried chicken)

S.Sweat Shop is a vibrant and energetic venue with a big terrace. The place has a hip feel to it, with some retro furniture and machinery. They even brew their own beer, which is a nice touch.
However, I was unimpressed by the food and their drinks. I had the pumpkin salad, which was simply boring. Honestly, there was mainly kumara in it, and hardly any 'salad'. Then I had the 'chicken burger', which was a small, greasy piece of deep fried chicken. The whole dish was a let down, as most bites were essentially made up of bread. The plating was disappointing, too: it is so easy to make a burger look good, but somehow they managed to make it plain looking. It was also small.
Then we ordered cocktails, a whiskey sour and an espresso martini. I ordered them at the bar and watched the girl make them. I am a bartender myself, so I am aware that my standards may be higher than some, but these cocktails were genuinely subpar. Yes, there was alcohol in it. But that's about all I can say about them...
All in all, though, I am sure they have dishes that are delicious. I've seen other plates come by and the food looked good. They have a good beer selection, so if you're coming here to enjoy the atmosphere over drinks, you're all good. They have a DJ and a live band, too.

Last night, I came on a nice and fun girl's night out with my boss and other managers at our favorite hangout. It was almost spoiled by one of your bouncers, short with curly dark hair. He was not going to let me in because apparently I was stumbling from across the road. You would agree with me that the road and pavements infront of your place has uneven surfaces which are then tricky and unsafe to walk on especially at night. I am post operation from an ACL and being a typical girl who wears high heels when going clubbing. For this, I'd always lean on a friend to assist me to the place then I'd be fine on my own. Your bouncer saw this and immediately assumed that I was too intoxicated to be allowed entry and refused me at the door even when we all tried to explain. He wouldn't even take into account that I could converse well and not slurring etc. I didn't want him to spoil our night so fortunately I asked for the manager who was good to us and sensible after I had explained the situation. Your bouncer was just very cheeky in my opinion and being very silly. I told your night manager as well as him that bouncers like him are the reason for a lot of negative reviews on your website. Please train them well in being capable of making sensible decisions and treating people well otherwise they'll be reason in losing a lot of customers for you. There are a lot of other places and clubs we can go to but we choose your's. We have been there many times with my colleagues. I have organized dinners and outings at your place and we have had very good services even from the other bouncers. I hope my feedback would be actioned asap and the bouncer concerned be spoken to and this serves as a reminder to the team. To end on a positive note. We had a blast and were the last to leave and the team at the bar were very attentive and prompt with providing us water at the end of each dancing spree. Thank you😊

N.Nice plan. Was naturally really quite on a Monday night, but I'm not going to complain about having the place to ourselves. Their own brews are pretty good, but remainder of beer selection typically limited. Food was outstanding.
S.I never write reviews because I spend the time I would write the review eating the food. But I had to stop eating to write This! Omg, the pizza is amazing! I saw it and thought meh just a pizza. But it was awesome! Order the pizza! My husband had the ribs, he seemed super happy too.
M.Great atmosphere with excellent outdoor seating for summer. The buttermilk chicken starter is wicked but be wary as most things on the menu are spicy! Good range of beers at the bar.

B.Not a great selection of beer, didn't really like the décor and the music was so loud it was impossible to talk to people(which would be OK if people weren't trying to do just that). Not terrible but definitely better places in Auckland imo.
