Great service and great selection of drinks. Gin tree was an excellent choice for me and my friend to share. We ordered food as well. Fish & chips was perfect however chicken salad was way to grease and chicken nuggets in it tasted double fried.

We had a great evening. We had shared nibbles of fish, bhajis, and chips and we had a lovely gin tree. The staff were rushed off their feet, being St.Patricks day, and they did a fantastic job of keeping up with everything so a special well done to them.

Great everything, location, service, staff, heaps of television screens catering for all sports. The Sunday roast was on point. Great environment and atmosphere. 12/10 above and beyond.

We each had the daily roast which for $35 also included desert. The roast pork meals we had were well seasoned, well cooked and amazing to eat. Very good sized portion also. Desert was peach Melba which included fresh peach, vanilla bean ice cream, marscopone, compote, and Melba toast. It was a big portion for desert and we shared. I highly recommend the Fox. Staff were attentive and very polite. A lovely afternoon.

A busy night with only one outdoor table available when we arrived and the same night as the Chiefs v Crusaders final. My wife and I were looking for a meal, a drink and a place to watch the rugby and this fit the bill. I have been here several times over the years and will continue coming back - food and drink prices are about average, and the food was good.

Our business hosted a Christmas party at the newly refurbished The Fox and had the best experience. The customer service, delicious food offerings, plush furnishings and a really cool vibe made this the best Christmas we have had. Thanks to all the Team (especially Steve) for making our night super awesome!! Definitely be back and will highly recommend.

I'm guessing that The Fox is under new management or something now, as the older reviews here do not match their menu or their service. The food was so good, genuine British food! The prices were honestly so cheap, especially with being on the Viaduct. The staff are the absolute best, and were so good in making mocktails up for the pregnant one in our party so she could still enjoy her NYE. Apparently we are bringing the baby back for milk shots when it's born? Haha! 10/10 highly recommend, we WILL be back!!

Foxes put on an amazing Sunday afternoon last week, hosting the UFC and NFL simultaneously, service was awesome, drinks were fantastic. Shout out to the Manager Joey for running an great team in a great space. Highly recommend.

This review is in 2 parts 1st the food is great. The waitress we had was friendly. And we all agreed that it is well priced too. Took quite a while sitting and waiting before I ended up asking to be served but I think they were a little bit busy. So not too bad. However. Failure to follow most of the covid-19 regulations is a real concern.It needs to be addressed immediately. 1. No one at the door to check vaccine pass. In fact no one checked at all. No one asked to see our vaccine pass all night. No customers were checked for vaccine pass at any stage. 2. No QR code at the entrance and not easily found. 3. No bar staffs are wearing mask. 4. 1 waitstaff took off the mask while talking to the patrons at a extremely close distance 5. No distancing between tables. They are all very close together. The bottom line is doesn’t matter if you like the rules or not. They are a requirement by law for you to operate under the current system. If you want to operate your business you need to follow the rules. Just like every other law in the country. You don’t get to pick and choose which one that suits you. This review is based on both the restaurant experience and the failure to follow current covid-19 regulations. Will update rating again in the near future. To end this review. The pub is great. Love the food, love the atmosphere. I really hope they follow up on covid regulations. Love change my rating and love to visit again !

Lovely experience with my wife at the Fox. Right on arrival the hospitality was excellent and once we entered the place is designed to give you a fell of a classic english pub. If you're into football there are some nice framed images of historic moments in the premier league. They also offer some classic english dishes which was a nice touch. Definitely recommend these guys, we had a lovely afternoon here.

Checked out The Fox the week they opened up after a change of ownership and refurb. Was really impressed with the new lighter look. Still looks an excellent place to watch sports, but with awesome food and drinks as well. Thoroughly recommend the cocktails too!

Best place to watch the game in the viaduct and they don't sting you for a beer think my sol was 9 bucks food is perfect for the venue all types welcome

A pulsating atmosphere when major sporting events are happening. Great staff, very friendly surroundings and decent priced drinks and food. The bar manager was very helpful and accommodating when I arranged an event there last year and it's a place I always nip into when I'm in the CBD.

It's the kind of place where you would like to hang out with your boys/girls to watch sports on the television and with beer jugs on the side. I went there with my mom to have dinner around 5:30ish. We were made to wait for longer with the menu provided to our table until I went to the counter to know if we were ever going to be served. That is when the waitress said that we need to place the order at the counter and they don't take the orders at the customer table. That was bit of a disappointment because it's their duty to let the customers know how they operate. Their peri-peri chicken was good and the steak was average. But the meal was abundant. You will be left with no space in the tummy. A few photos are attached underneath.

The re-design is amazing! Is exactly what the Viaduct needed. The staff are always warm and welcoming and the manager Joey always goes above and beyond. Highly recommended 🙌

Watched the first game of the NBA finals here. Affordable drinks and big screens to watch on. My pot of mussels and wedges were pretty good. Happy with the service, food and drink.

Awesome atmosphere. Great food. Decent prices, specially down on the waterfront. Can't really see much of a view of the waterfront as its a little tucked around the corner. But had an awesome platter to share.

this place is awesome the food is fabulous and the selection of beers is very nice I found it was a great place to sit and watch the different sporting events on the televisions and the staff took care of you like you were first rate. A nice outdoor area also and the bathrooms were clean. Don't be afraid to ask the bartenders for some advice on their beers

I just stopped in for a beer on a Saturday afternoon so not much was happening. The little casino area was busy just as I could imagine the whole bar would be during a match.

Brilliant place. Ive always been able to find a spot to watch the ufc even when its packed you will be able to see the tellies 😄

Love this place great ambience .Staff is really friendly and nice.food is amazing and have lot options great portion hats of to chef . Grasshopper platter was so good and portion was huge . Affordable price for drinks.

Arrived at 9:30 at night where most places at the harbor will only make snack food. The Fox was great and had the full menu ready and available. I know I only ordered the classics, but my got was that one of the best burgers I'd ever had. Also had their delicious garlic and cheese pizza. That pizza was something else man. Wash it all down with a pint of Fox IPA and I was a happy man. Will happily return.

Service was good, however, the food was forgettable in my mind. We got both a meat sampler and a sea food sampler. On the meat sampler, chicken was borderline cold with almost what appeared to be under cooked portions. Ribs unfortunately can hardly be called ribs, but more so bones with sauce. Seafood platter was the typical fried seafood dish, but what can you expect. It’s bar atmosphere with bar food, just don’t get your hopes up with the fancy names. On a drunken night, you’d probably love this place.

After much debate between my friend and I, The Fox won over Giraffe due to the noticeable change in popularity we had to see what the fuss was about and was pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing, a definite improvement on a visit earlier in the year. Atmosphere spot on. Service still a bit slow but all in all a great experience. Can definitely see why they are rivalling some of the more well known spots in the Viaduct of late.

Everyone that works here is an absolute gem, was in a spot of trouble last night, they helped me out and ordered a taxi. All the staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. A good bunch of people :)

Amazing service, great food - Shanky (one of the owners) was working with the staff due to high number of people at Foxes. Great guy, passionate and honest. A lot of tourist go there and expect the same service at home. Which is based on tips payments - but they won't tip and expect a waiter or service to come to them. Sorry this isn't America lol staff are friendly don't be afraid to ask for assistance on arrival. I will definitely go return, the food was amazing

If you want to watch an All Blacks game with screens all around and people standing shoulder to shoulder, then for all of those expectations, the Fox will have you covered. Very basic beer menu but it is a sports bar. I can't really tell how much I like interacting with the bar staff because even 2 hours before the game when it was half empty, they still seemed to be a bit standoffish; some of them at least. They're signage around the place was pretty funny though.

Like the atmosphere of the restaurant. I only had a beer, but foods that my friends had really look delicious. Will come back another weekend to try their chicken wings 😂 The staff here is also very nice and friendly.

Staff is good, but like in most bars in Auckland, it changes very often. The food is good enough (for a bar). The location is amazing as it is a nice checkpoint if you are walking around the harbour. Couple of pokies available, if you interested. There is also a couple of big screens for watching sports (UFC, Champions league and rugby -of course-)

Wanting a good meal, a bit of sport, a few drinks in the Viaduct then here's perfect. An ideal place to meet, either to stay or pre mix before moving on. Good wines, even the house types, great seafood platter for two and other reliable choices. A great spot in the Viaduct

Had to organise a 50 people company event/dinner remotely from Australia. The staff at The Fox restaurant were super helpful and friendly in helping me out (thru phone calls and email) and they fulfilled all our requests in order to get ready for this dinner. Management was very happy with dinner and once again, a massive THANK YOU to all the staff at The Fox restaurant for your commitment to proving such excellent service.

What's not to like at a harbourside pub that sells great food and drink and shows sports all day? Having come from England the best bit for me were the signed Spurs shirt and the room which the note on the door said Spurs fans only. Brilliant.

It's in the Viaduct but not of it. Feels more like the quiet hotel restaurant on the lake but nestled on the doorstep of Friday night madness. Staff are friendly and not totally dumb at the same time. Compare that to how many places you know. Yes, it has a pool table too.

American here for the year... In a city, in a country, where all that people really watch is rubgy (laughs), the fox is your Go-to for any big sporting event. I saw the NHL Stanley cup finals there and there was audio and on a big screen. Another mate of mine went and was able to catch the EuroCup games. I got a pizza once that was pretty good. For their unique access to the sports that are largely ignored around here, I wanted to take 30 seconds and give this place a 5 on here. Spacious and good atmosphere as well. cheers

Good bar for watching sports usually decent crowds for big games. Food is ok but not as good as used to be in my opinion. Worth a visit if wanting to watch a game and have a few drinks.

Everything great for a sports bar! Only critique is i had sausage and mash which was 9 out of 10 really but, the sausages were the cheapest they could source but i still injoyed the meal which says alot about the chef! Really injoyed this bar!

Excellent grilled fish and chips . This was the second time we have enjoyed an easy delicious lunch.

They are very nice here, and it's a great (but very crowded) place to watch a big game. Prices are almost double some others in the area though.

Went in to watch the boxing, they were using a questionable stream that kept crashing and to make things worse, had run out of buffalo wings. Staff were the only positive thing which is why I am giving 3 stars and not 2

The Fox Sporting Bar offers great food and service. The venue is inviting and has a good ambience. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this venue.

Came in on a Tuesday late afternoon for a meeting. Easily found a cosy table where we could pull our laptops out and a few other people had done the same. Was great that there was no loud thumping music and you could have a meeting in a nice environment. Drank the pub's own brewed beer Fox Ale and Fox Gold which was refreshing. The Fox Cider was good too - prices for each glass of beer or cider was $9 or $10. They have free wifi here too and outdoor seating. There is a pokie machine area around by the toilets as well as an inhouse ATM machine.

Watched Formula 1 mid April '18 and they were very helpful putting up the race on multiple screens and played the commentary as well.
