Pleasant staff, lovely cold Heineken and an iced coffee for $18.50 so not over the top pricing either. Cool music piped in the background provided a nice relaxed atmosphere to sit and have a pre flight drink

I guess my expectations were too high but the service wasn’t great (they scanned our passes and then just turned away, I had to ask whether we could just sit down somewhere and then I had to ask someone else whether there were menus and how to order), then they forgot part of our order and by the time we followed up on it we had to go, so we left still hungry. Fish taco was pretty good despite the fish being mostly batter. Don’t think we’d come here again.

I recommend Fish Taco and their amazing Cider! Excellent food! Amazing ambiance! The staff named Apple Losa is so friendly and accommodating! Freshly delivered food and drinks while watching rugby game! Great location while waiting for your flight! 😍😍😍

Awesome addition to Auckland Airport and a much needed, we’ll polished café! The brightly lit space at Gipsy Moth is well lit and inviting without being a cavernous food court. Nice architecture division of the space also ensures you get a bit of privacy as you enjoy a beer while you wait. Food offering a worth their money, with a classic breakdown of breakfast from bacon and eggs to croissants and pastries. The coffee will do; unfortunately good ingredients are put in untrained hands at the coffee machine. Gipsy Moth also has a good selection of alcohol, with decent NZ wines and more mainstream beers. This makes for passing the time easier, whether hanging with travelling companions or sitting at a side bar and watching some sport. Go here if you have time on your hands, and enjoy Auckland Airport’s only worthwhile café!

It’s been awhile since I traveled domestically so it was my first time at The Gipsy Moth. The cafe was clean, the service was good, and the coffee wasn’t bad. Would like to come back and try their food next time.

Such a lovely place to be at awaiting to board. I Have just arrived to my destination and thought I had to share my experience. I had ordered chicken wings & salt &pepper squid. Dang I tell you these were the best salt & pepper squid I’ve had so far, well cooked and served within a timely manner. Big ups to the Chefs, staff members & the young lady who was the manager out on the floor checking up on us customers (Bravo) . I have got to say the staff members are lovely and always smiling which brighten up the atmosphere. I know most time customers are quick to judge and complain but never as quick to pass on good feedback. I will definitely be coming back as I often travel out for business, will recommend to the rest of my team. Keep up the good work as it doesn’t go unnotice!!

Great staff and food. The pasta was really flavoursome but a bit over cooked for our liking and the nachos were fantastic. Great value for an airport dinner!

Nice food and OK coffee. Staff unexperienced and lack of basic English. We asked for hot water with our coffee and it arrived several minutes later in a ceramic jug meant for milk. This made it impossible to pour from without scalding one's hand. When I pointed this out to one of the waitresses she simply walked away. Her colleague at the counter did not understand my explanation and told me that that's how the serve water. Oh dear.

It wouldn't be a complete trip to Auckland without a stop at my fave airport hangout: The Gypsy Moth. I LOVE the drinks selection, bites and the fact there's always room to park myself at the bar and catch up on some work while I wait for my flight. It is convenient to have a place to dine close to the security gate for departures that has a variety of food choices to suit whether you want more of a meal or just a snack. I was pleased that the scrambled eggs came with wholesome wholemeal toast. Only gripe is the coffee cups come with pretty useless handles.

Loved visiting The Gipsy Moth. After a great trip to Auckland with my two kids (4 & 6) we had some time to kill at The Gipsy Moth. Aidan was amazing helping to pick a delicious wine, making some extra special drink for the kids, and gave them a cool kids activity book. Thanks gorgeous Aidan!

Going here for a treat with my mum we were not happy. Unfortunatley order was not listened to , wrong order brought to table. I understand it is a busy time but a smile would not hurt.However the slice was nice

Didn't eat here but wonderful service in what must be a tiring job to do. I was served by Aidan and he had such a wonderful energy that it made my day! Definitely the warmest reception I can recall at an airport restaurant.

The atmosphere of the cafe looks classy and well color coordinated. I was very happy with the customer service at the cashier and the waitress was friendly. She always said you're welcome after serving my orders. In addition, the coffee was well made and the food was excellent.

Great service and great coffee. All of the staff are lovely and always have big smiles on even at 5am! Jerry the barista always goes above and beyond to make me feel like a valued customer. He even remembers my coffee order despite there sometimes being months between visits. Keep doing what your doing team!

Had lunch at The Gypsy Moth today and loved it. Excellent customer service and very tasty food. Staff were very friendly. We were greeted and served by Margaret. She really looked after us making sure we had a great experience as it was our first time here. Good spot to hang or grab a brunch while waiting at the airport. Definitely will be back for more!

A nice, relaxing place to have a bite or a quick coffee before catching a flight :) The food is presented beautifully and there coffee is amazing! The staff are always smiling and very personable with great service. I visit often before my flights working as a Flight Attendant and if Jerry is working - he prepares my caramel latte before I’ve even reached the counter to pay which is very much appreciated and such a great touch on going the extra mile for Customers! It’s a must visit :)

When airport staff and passengers are glum, at least the waitress Foi can put a smile on your dial. Even on a busy day, still smiles. I'm surprised her cheeks don't cramp. Food was great too. I had the salmon cream cheese bagel. Coffee was the absolutely amazing. Well done cafe team.

Good coffee, very average food. Typical of airport fare; i.e. a bit pricey for what you get. Just got an egg and bacon muffin (hard to muck up) but was stale, hot on one side and somehow stone cold on the other. Staff looked like they’d rather be anywhere else than here, although were still helpful.

Came to Gipsy moth with my sister and we absolutely enjoyed the food! Most importantly, they had impeccable customer service.. in particular, Vika.. (I believe that’s her name). She was very patient with us while we took a lot of time to select from the menu, and she was kind enough to make recommendations! 5 stars for the food and service ! Absolutely amazing place, food is different, healthy and tasty. especially want to thank Jerry, the amazing barista, his coffee is the best amongst all in Auckland airport, he is fast and always accommodating his customers as well as us staff. Had a pretty nice breakfast before my morning flight, service was nice and friendly, and the coffee was pretty good as well. The only damper to my morning was a grumpy elderly woman who was been a bit of a clown over a fried egg. Other than that had a pretty good breakfast to start my day off.

Their food is of the best quality. The service of the staff - Jerry, is wonderful. He's very efficient, friendly, polite and accommodating. I highly recommend this place if you are waiting for your flight or for someone at the airport, you won't be disappointed. Food and service deserves a 5 star.

I come to this place on a regular basis for a coffee and a date scone, usually 2 or 3 times a week. I have found the staff to be very friendly and have not had a bad experience. Maria is one of the staff who regularly stops and chats with me in the course of her duties but not at the expense of others. She, like the rest of the staff who provide good service is a good reason to return. Tom the Fleet Inspector. Seems I got it all wrong and named Maria who doesn't work there. I really meant Julie and the staff on duty today roasted me when I walked in. Shame. I must also mention the Duty Manager Vapreet who also offers outstanding service. Thanks guys for correcting me. The BEST breakfast! Five choices for the big breakfast; creamy scrambled eggs, big herby sausage, lots of good bacon, two perfectly roasted tomatoes and the best ever hash brown I have had anywhere in the world, plus lovely toast an an excellent flat white. Superb. This sets a standard!

Finally I have the time do a review. Yesterday me and my friends were looking for a nice place to have dinner and what a better place to eat at then at “The Gypsy Moth”. We wanted to try something new and we saw how good the reviews were and decided to check it out. We were greeted by a girl named Vika who had awesome customer service she would always check if we were ok. Vika was very patient with taking our orders and very helpful when we needed suggestions with the meals showing she us knew the menu really well. The food was also on point I know for sure I will be back for more. 😊 The team also were very vibrant and took care of us which made our day very comfortable Margaret the managed her team very well and showed very good leadership qualities around the restaurant keep up the great work we need more people like this around because their service creates a comfortable space for our family and friends. I work at the airport and get a coffee from Gypsy Moth almost every day. Jerry is the barista and when he sees me arrive he’s super quick to whip up my usual order to perfection. Highly recommend.

This is the only place I could find that sold low carb food (Bacon and Eggs). There is nothing inside the gates either. I ordered Scrambled Eggs, Pork Sausage (with onion - as advertised, I didn't really want the onion - luckily) and bacon. Scrambled eggs tasted like they were powdered eggs and certainly the serve was not 2 eggs - clear sign that it wasn't cooked fresh - which is OK at an airport I guess, as long as it is a full serve and tastes like eggs. Sausage was good, the "onion" was effectively a skin of 1 onion. Bacon was good. 3/5 for trying.

Went today in the norning. Busy, but better ambience than previous. Staff were friendly and breakfast was perfect (didn’t expect to be this sumptuous), not much option for veges but staff went out of the way and made a nice vege sandwich for my wife. Chai Latte and coffee were great too. Gets bit noisy during their busy hours. Would definately recommend.

The space is comfortable and clean, however i was disaapointed to have received my chicken schnitzel burnt. I ate as much as i could as i was in a rush but the taste was overpowered by the burnt crumbs. I would also lose the fruit in the coleslaw which was otherwise nice. The service was great from the ladies on the floor, just not impressed that your chef/cook thought it ok to give a customer burnt food.

I usually dont review on business but the vibe of this business yesterday from the team is just full of hyped. This deserves a 6 star if there was a 6th star to rate ! The staff here is amazing. I was here the other day with my grandmother and we were served by mersadies at the counter. Her patience was amazing and I love how she repeated our order back to us incase she missed something out. The food was amazing. We will definitely be back to visit.

Nice service and taste of food. I ordered a ham and egg wrap that costed me 12 dollars. It's kind of pricy for its size and plain taste but with sauce it's better. If you are looking for something fansy, there are other options available and they looked great with presentations. Atmosphere is comfortable while you are not in a hurry to catch a flight.
