D. N.Booked a furst table for a catchup with a couple of friends. The waitress Nina was awesome shes only been there a month she was real nice. Unfortunately the food was pretty average the carnivore pizza i ordered was dry& burnt but cold literally had one piece and that was me. The HANGAR burger was ok the wedges & the churos I'd say were the winners for me. The portions are generous.

L. F.The Hangar is a great place to go for either a drink after work or dinner for the family. The Hangar has a nice vibe, and isn't rowdy. The food there is nice, I order the nachos and love it every time. Parking is easy and accessible and they have parking at both sides of the establishment. The bathrooms are always clean, and are nice. Their workers are all very nice, and listen to any concerns you have intently.

M. Y.I’m visiting this place almost every Friday with my teammates for lunch and it’s only because it’s only bar close to the office. Food is pretty average there. Last Friday fish and chips made one of my workmates sick. After this happened we’re now thinking about changing our habits and going somewhere else for Friday lunches.

F. O.Great pub meals. Great service. Great staff. Was a busy night due to the all black test and our dessert and coffee were so slow to the point we cancelled and were going to leave. The waiter returned with the coffee free of charge and while drinking the coffee turned up wit dessert free of charge. All round a good night out.
C. C.This is a great, chilled out place to go on a Sunday for a drink or 2 and some snacks! The upstairs area is really quite and great to utilise if you've got kids as you're a bit seperate from everyone downstairs. The staff were friendly and helpful and all the 'small' menu items and 'sides' were half price which makes for such great value, only downside for me was that there aren't enough vegan items on the menu. There are plenty of accessible and easy vegan options the restaurant could look into to add to their menu and there is a huge vegan community that would represent the hell out of it if they offered some good vegan options.. Not to mention the even larger allergy community who would do them same.

Husband and I came here for our very very rare date night. It was a huge disappointment for us this evening, unfortunately.
The size of our steak was quite small for the price that is listed. There was only a average-sized piece of steak and a bit of baby potatoes, garnished with a tiny little bit of greens and creamy mushroom sauce. No salad.
For $36 per plate of steak, we do expect to see more food on our plate. Quite disappointing.
There were also a very inconsiderate driver who parked in a way that was blocking our car. We were parked in a proper parking space, but some person had to park their car partially on the grass and partially on the carpark, and therfore kind of blocked our car.
Upon notifying the staff of this problem, instead of them making an announcement to ask the owner of the car to move, this staff member came out, and got us to make many many very tight, risky and difficult turns to get our car out of the parking lot.
Why make it so hard for us? It's not our fault that we were blocked! We were parked properly.
Why couldn't there have been an announcement, asking the car owner to move their vehicle? This was not a good experience. Very disappointing.

K.Gone are the days of the youth lining up around the corners, sneaking sideways through the weather shades to get in, crosstown bandits looking for trouble and the regular visits from the popo looking for something to do in the sleepy suburb of Henderson. The Hanger has transformed into a place to take the lady, a cheeky wine with the folks and a place for friends and colleagues to mingle. A calm atmosphere has now taken hold, duly taking care of your thirst and taste buds a plenty. This place has seen many shades of grey and like most things with time this has certainly aged like a fine wine.

m.It's a decent enough place to catch up with friends etc, nothing spectacular...and I still have the issue with pricing...this place is out west in the suburbs...not on the viaduct, just expect better value I guess

C. L.Large open space inside and generous outdoor seating with music piped to both. Relatively noisy. Food is average. Food and drink deals during the week which might be the time to try it out. Stone grill meal options which are fun, but I haven't tried those here. Might be good.
R. C.For what is primarily a sports bar, I think it is a pretty good venue. I was happy with the beer selection, friend seemed delighted with his wine choice. Food was pretty reasonable for pub food, not high end cuisine but very good fresh well prepared food. Seriously handy for dinner before going to Trusts Arena.

L. S.The hanger was great, we went there for my sister in laws birthday party. We had the upstairs area until 130pm but at about 110pm they asked us to start wrapping it up as the next booking had arrived. I thought that was a little bit rude considering we still had 20mins! We moved downstairs and restarted the party at 120pm and finished off the baby shower but i think you shouldnt kick people out early just because the other people turn up early.... they couldve just started them off with a drink downstairs until our time was up!
D. D. P.Enjoyed the relaxed environment at hanger bar. It was a little cold inside as the two side heaters in the dining area were broken. I felt the food was above average. We ordered two different platters & they were both pretty good. The only two things I didn’t like about the meal was the texture of the batter/coating on the chicken, calamari and prawns. I can’t put my finger on what they had done to it but it just had an odd texture & I didn’t like the highly processed ham. I would expect a little better quality ham for a $42 platter considering everything else is fairly cheap to source...I.e feta, salami, garlic bread & olives. I did enjoy the beef & garlic bread. The service was good & staff were really nice & attentive.

J. &. E. T.Ordered stone grilled prawns, good portion. Could use a bit of oil/ butter to cook it, was having trouble to detach the prawns from the buring stone plate. A bit salty, the 2 sides: brocolinie was good. Onion rings a bit too dry. Kids meal was very nice deal, $12 you get a main, drink & dessert. The other main was ribeye steak, portion was good, again a bit too salty. The buds cooked beautifully.
Service was nice & friendly.
Overall would go back again.

N. S.Had the time of my life here! Even though I must be honest, I was horrified that I got kicked out! It was the 1st time I'd drank alcohol in a year and yes I was loud but I was neither obnoxious or mean, I was just laughing and having a good time. It was the 1st time I'd been out to a pub in 20 plus years and actually enjoyed myself. Cé la vie. Still remember the fun!
b.If you are taking the kids for dinner watch out for bits of glass in their soft drinks, and disinterested owners of the business who don't have the courtesy to follow up when requested. I wasn't trying for a free meal nor being a troll, just wanted to know what steps the owner had in place to ensure it doesn't happen to another CUSTOMER. Not a witch hunt.
Otherwise the staff are nice enough and the food is acceptable, handy location and lots of parking.

L.Sunday's are my Hangar days. Usually round up my big kids and the grandkids and hang out for a while. Special Sunday prices are also an attraction. They have more TV/Video monitors than Noel Lemmings. Doesn't matter wher you sit the sport of the day is always visible..Staff are great and your meals arrive quikly. Dint change anything Hangar. You've got it perfect.

W. S. v. d.I love this place since it has been redone a while ago. It is no longer the questionable venue from days gone by. Nowadays, It does do good food, it is spacious and has enough staff to suffer.
It is a great place to watch a sport game, lots of TV screens and a big capacity. Have a look upstairs as well for extra seating.
This place is also a good place to have a drink before a game at the Trust Arena. Highly recommended for all Waitakere United fans, it's only fair to have a drink there, since they sponsor the Waitakere United team.

L. E.Great atmosphere for our afternoon summer get together. Good was great music was a good choice for that time of day (cruisey afternoon sounds) friendly staff. Downfalls were floors were sticky (not mopped?) And 1 toilet was either broken (out of service) and I had to alert staff to it and the taps in the ladies sprayed all over you when you washed your hands.
i.Actually surprisingly decent. Appetisers were terrific and half price on a sunday. I went in very hungry, ended up having to push the plate away (3rd appetiser). Booze was NZ-standard expensive. Projector screen for sports needs to be brighter. Really pleasantly surprised the place has kept a standard up over the years. Don't expect perfection, it is a bar, but pretty good for the area.

A.Love the Hangar. I think the staff are great. This has been constant for as long as I’ve been back in Nz (4 years) Constant good service in a public drinking house is ridiculously hard to find. We had a funeral wake there and man those guys just pumped it out and did so well. I also have been to many birthdays, reunions and farewells there and had my 30th there. The upstairs part is a great option. Hangar is best out west. I love west. Nuff said

Atmosphere is generally good here but sometimes turns into gangster nation lel. Music is usually cheesy RNB lacking real music or rappers. Great place to go if you want a reckless night though. Argument with the wife? High on overcut cocaine from the internet? The hangar is where you want to be.
