B.Steak meal was cooked to perfection, but the garlic sauce was more like the crushed garlic you buy in a plastic container from a four square. Mushroom sauce was great, though the salad had just a little too much vinegar for my tastes.
T.Wonderful place to eat. Fire roaring, toasty warm and great friendly staff. We had their steak with mushroom sauce and vegetables. Was cooked to perfection. The garlic and cheese bread loaf looked divine but we had no room to fit it in but was recommended to us for our next visit. Highly recommend this bar and grill.

Quirky decor that reminds me of somewhere I would have gone as a kid.
My steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. Husbands burger was massive and delicious and our son loved the fettuccine.
B.Fantastic. We were a party of eight who turned up unexpectedly one lunch time . We all choose something different from the menu. . All meals arrived at the same time . All piping hot and well presented. Also we could not believe that all lunch mains were $17 each. . Real blazing fire , lovely atmosphere and beautiful meals. What more could one want onsca bleak , wet winter's day

M.A great dining experience. We brought our 1 year old son here for lunch on our first meal out with him. He has food allergies and the staff went through checking all the ingredients on the kids menu so he would be safe. They also brought out a bucket of toys for him to play with while we ate. Food was great tasting and great value with a big selection. A fun cowboy theme and good cold beer to boot, this is an awesome family restaurant with friendly helpful staff. Recommend to all passing through or living in Carterton district.
H.This place has so much potential in a great location and a great atmosphere. The food standard just needs to lift a little bit. The starter was great, my main of chicken was cooked beautifully but the 'risotto' was quite obviously uncle bens 90 second packet rice.

N.Wandered into this grill, what a find. Cold day ouside and came into a rustic grill/bar complete with roaring log fire. The menu was full of potential treats and I chose the lambs fry, bacon, peas and mash. The depth of flavour was amazing. It was perfect. My friends were also very pleased with their choices. Staff excellent, lots of intriguing artifacts like the selection of revolvers. Intend to revisit.

S.Meal was ok but unfortunately we canceled dessert after seeing staff member drop the utensil she was using to put our dessert together on the floor then pick it up and use it. When we approached staff about the issue there was no apology just a rude response and laugh with the excuse of "shes a new girl just out of school ". Perhaps training staff on food services before allowing them to work in the kitchen preparing food would be a good start. I would have also accepted the excuse if it wasn't for the chief standing near the young girl when it happened....

P.I love the atmosphere. Open fire, displays of western guns, the wooden bar and decor and the house Red is to die for. Warm and inviting in the winter and cool and shady in the garden bar in the summer.
