This idillic hotel is only an hour away from the hustle and bustle from Wellington and I am proud to say I am a resident living in this fantastic hotel right in the heart of Carterton! The food is great, the residents are friendly and the hard working staff make this hotel the superb location to head out for nibbles and refreshments in a clean and safe environment.

Quirky pub, generally okay - karaoke night is either great or terrible in an amusing way. Relaxed crowd for the most part but have had a couple of incidents where people have "had a go" verbally and I've had to walk away to avoid escalation.

Great place great landlords great staff and jst all round really nice people that make you feel so welcome and at home...

Contrary to the previous review I stayed 2 nights 16/17/1 2015 and found this hotel very comfortable, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, (I had a great nights sleep) quiet, great shower, clean toilets and very friendly staff.
