Great place here at the Rolling Stone. Its an 80s night with dress ups. Music not to loud and not overcrowded. A nice atmosphere and the staff are helpful. Car parking could be a problem but should be ok if you look.

On the MARVELLOUS scale from 1 to 10, this is a solid 10. The manager lady was friendly and she knew her menu and bar selection of by memory. And on Wednesdays at 8 o’clock they have a Irish music session with any Joe blog that knows Irish music and can play instrument can play together it was quite a nice touch. Every thing on the menu screamed out eat me, and everything on the menu is under 30 bucks.

Great bar with a fantastic atmosphere. Owners are lovely and the beer is excellent. Have some games of pool here every time I come to Chch. Love the rock history memorabilia on the walls and there are frequently local musicians playing too. Definitely recommend for anyone music minded and down for a pleasant pint or 2.

A Rolling Stone is a great venue for bands to play with a terrific stage that is plenty spacious and could comfortably have a 5 piece band. Mike the owner has a brilliant wit and a great sense of humour. We entered in a competition called "Bandemonium" this year and got a respectable 2nd place, but it's nice to know venues like this are looking to encourage up and coming musicians.

We had the pleasure of playing at this amazing venue right in the heart of Christchurch. Such brilliant and hospitable staff with a great vibe and layout - perfect for the diverse crowd that a rock/metal show brings. The food was bloody delicious (we had steaks all cooked perfectly) and there was a wide variety of tasty drinks. To sum everything up, we loved playing at A Rolling Stone and we are very jealous that there isn’t a venue of this caliber in the North Island :) Thanks so much for having us, we hope to be back again soon! Great place. Friendly helpful staff. Good menu. Great drinks selections. Try the chips with the curry...yum. Go here for quiz nights on Mondays. Great fun Quiz Master. Lots of teams. Free prizes. Not difficult to find parks. A great Irish pub.

Nice casual atmosphere with a live band, it was easy relaxed and varied music that anyone with some skill could join in much like the real Irish bars. Sound levels were low and an easy conversation could be had. They have various live bands and events so there may be entry fees on some days but other more relaxed sessions are free and even tho I cannot play or sing the live music and people joining in makes a really friendly pub. I have not tried their food and they are on the shady side of the street so the outdoor area can be a bit brisk but parking is usually easy or a short walk from the bus depot. Not my first visit and definatley not my last

This place was really neat.It was very casual typical Irish pub.the first area inside was tables for dining.in a bit further was a pool table and bar to gather around and lean on.inside a little further is a dance floor and area for the band. The decor had everything Irish. We loved the food as well. I had roast pork and my friends all had burgers.not only was it served beautifully it tasted great. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. A warm cozy environment to relax in Definately would go again

Sunday evening, we were in need of some comfort food during the Level 3 lockdown in Christchurch, so decided to book the permitted takeaway meals by phone. Our two hot meals (Guinness Meat Pie and Fish Pie) were ready for collection right on time; we took them home and devoured them. Absolutely delicious - highly recommended nosh! Always good music on and a friendly atmosphere. If you're looking for a good pint of Guniness and some nice traditional Irish pub food this by far the best pub in New Zealand. Make sure you have a game of pool when you're there!

Went to a comedy show which was great. My first time to this bar. Loved the open space, layout, decor and general vibe. Its not trying to be cool, but it is. Somewhere to go again so must check out their events schedule.
