We had a lovely family get together for lunch at Aikmans. The service was pretty good, unfortunately though, our male server had quite strong body odour. The food was fine, we had two doz oysters of which the tempura were very small, and the natural weren't freshly shucked (if that's something you're used to - some restaurants don't do this) but still very tasty. The calamari was delicious, however there wasn't a great deal of flavour in the duck parfait or flat bread. While our experience at Aikmans didn't blow our minds, it wasn't bad either and we had a nice time together.

Im over from australia visiting family and decided to go here for lunch. Excellent venue, great atmosphere, we had the ceaser and green salad which was so fresh and yummy. Waiter was very smiley and poliet. Highly recommend!!!

An excellent relaxing establishment. If you can go on a Monday. The platters are half price, which is about what they should be. Service is always tops. The place has a nice feel to it. Stylish, comfortable & relaxing. We shared the antipasto & the parfait duck pate, which is fantastic. Would definitely recommend this place. Best value being a Monday

Seems like a nice and friendly place. I found the security guys to be courteous and approachable. I was so surprised by the two big no neck gorillas with shaved heads, polite, easy going, and nice. It's really true, can't judge a book by it's cover.

A nice bar/cafe/restaurace; very comfortable despite the Covid restrictions and very attentive and helpful staff. With no direct bar service the masked staff had to wait on everyone pretty much as occurs in Europe.

It was very crowded on Sunday night, whether because of the boxing on tv if it's always like that after all it is a bar, the service from the waiting staff was excellent and my meal of pork belly was fantastic,

We recently spent 3 nights in Christchurch at the end of a campervan tour of the beautiful South Island. Each of those nights was spent at Aikmans! We found the place such a pleasant place to be - great ambience, great food and, especially, great staff. The only negative was the $8 we were charged for a very small, very ordinary salad we ordered to accompany the fantastic summer platter (1/2 price on Mondays) but I won't let one slip impact the whole team's rating.

I were just new to Christchurch and , looking for a good night, I got referred to Aikmans at Merivale. Going there, regularly, what with work and the earthquake, when I got sat down and proceeded to become regular frequenters of this fine establishment, myself and several football ‘hooligans’, so we were mostly there at times together conspiring big plans over a Monteith’s. I had the common privilege of joining their ‘exclusive club’ which, by god , is well worth the exercise and because every time you buy you get points, or this is how it were at least. These points build up, and rather quickly, for food meals. But not beer!
