Stayed for 1 night for the hubby's work do. Loved the atmosphere. Cocktails were amazing , most of the food was great but a couple dishes like the ribs were misses not hits. The room was amazing. Very comfy bed. The most amazing unusual views. Took amazing photos. Next morning continental breakfast was amazing. Had everything you could want for a morning wake up. Expresso Coffee was one of best I have had. Staff were so accommodating. Especially the manager. Over all we loved our stay there. 9/10 :)
J.
Dinner was out of this world, ordered the lamb shank and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. All the food was reasonably priced and amazing quality. Also thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will most certainly be back!
W.
Fantastic views, with good facilities, comfy large bed and great shower. Staff were very engaging and attentive and good pub food. Could do with a drying room especially if staying 3 to 4 nights like we did as plenty to see with great walks, alpine flora, bird life, photography and so much more. Highly recommend and 4 star Qualmark.
D.
Ate here for dinner after our 6 hour tramp. Great range of food & beverage choices. Service was excellent and food quality also excellent. Great location right on the main road and amazing view! Didn’t stay in the units but they also clearly have incredible views.
L.
This is a wonderful pub/restaurant to stop at. It's currently under Level 2 restrictions so there were some areas we couldn't access or sit. Even so, where we did sit was outside with spectacular scenery and good service. A chilled wine, gorgeous veggie soup. All was good with the world
T.
We stopped in to the restaurant/bar for a late lunch on the way back from Hokitika to Christchurch. Great meals, a good selection of drinks and really good service. We'll be back for sure!
J.
Our villa was not only spacious and comfortable but also very clean and well appointed. Lovely views out over the riverbed from our room.
The staff in the Crafty Moa restaurant are wonderful. They were very friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to ensure we had a great experience. The food was of a high standard, great variety and good quality. The prices are also very reasonable.

Can only speak to the restaurant as we didn't stay there. Really, really nice food! Exactly what you want pub food to be, but rarely actually get. Everything was fresh, full of quality ingredients, well seasoned and served hot. I had the venison pie with side salad and chips. All were excellent, with the salad standing out as being far above the afterthought role that it usually plays on the plate. I also tasted ribs (perfectly cooked and sauced, slightly under spiced), warm veggie salad (very well balanced in ingredient choice and flavor), chips (deserve another mention for how good they were) and chocolate lava cake (a bit small but contained a high quality dark chocolate). All in all, a great table of food which prompted me to personally thank the chef.
N.
Great hospitality, really good food and coffee, amazing vistas, we stayed in a villa. It was spacious and comfortable and very clean. Very pleasant staff
k.
Hidden gem, super friendly and helpful staff all around. Stayed for two nights in the room with shared facilities. Room had really comfy bed, I stayed on my own and it was perfect for 3pax could be tiny.. but may be I was put in the smallest room who knows. Big kitchen all equipped, dining table and two sofas as a chilling area perfectly fine, shower super spacious and everything spotless clean. The views are amazing, easy walks in every direction finished with nice gin coctail in the restaurant. Enjoy
F.
We had a fantastic stay in the hostel accomodation which even has private rooms! Really clean and fresh. Great food and super friendly staff. So much to do in the area which is a few minutes from Arthur's pass etc. The kids are dying to return...and we will!!!
D.
Really nice views, clean and comfy accom, delicious restaurant food and friendly service. Not really much else I could ask for!
W.
Awesome menu, vegan options, beautiful view and friendly staff. Great stop after a coast training mission

As we did not stay, this review is for the restaurant.
Overnighting at the Arthurs Pass Alpine Motel, Fi, the wonderfully helpful host, suggested that we dine at the Bealey Hotel, and arranged it for us.
Even though it was a wild and stormy night, the courtesy van was on time, and we were delivered to the restaurant/bar which upon entry, had not only a warm wood burner fire, but also a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly, service was great, and the meal was a very pleasant reminder of what top notch “pub food” should be like.
Unfortunately, it was all too soon that the hotel courtesy van returned us to our motel.
A big thanks to the “hands on” owners and their staff for their marvellous hospitality.
J.
Excellent customer service. Rooms were clean, warm and cosy with stunning views overlooking the river. Good choice of food and beverages at the bar. Our younger children enjoyed there stay although raining we were able to explore around the river, play board games and pool.
G.
Very nice up market place, food and drinks where good. Fantastic views.
M.
Recently refurbished to a high standard; it's obvious a *lot* of money has been spent. We took the superior villa with hot tub - clean and well-appointed, finished to a decent standard, lying in hot tub at night watching the stars was very cool.
The kitchen let the side down slightly - took over half an hour for what was basically 2 x steak & chips, 1 x toasted cheese sammy to appear, when the place wasn't busy, and when they arrived they were... good, but not great. Staff great, friendly and attentive.
I'd give 4.5 stars if I could due to food, but otherwise a very solid recommend, especially if you snag the room with the hot tub!
K.
Great place to stay or just stop for meal. Spectacular views from hotel restaurant and the rooms. Accommodation is priced very well and rooms are big with views! Good for families with easy access to the river. Rooms have recently been refurbished and new owners are great hosts. We enjoyed our stay so much we will be back.
a.
Stunning, Stunning, stunning! Amazing view from the room, really nice tidy room, outstanding service! They really went the extra mile!
b.
Cool place that still persists with the Moa story. Fun angle for the tourists. Good service and the food was great
L.
Cannot fault the service, location or facilities. Our room was clean and tidy, awesome shower. Meals at the restaurant were at a very high standard and also great value. Will be back, definitely recommend stopping here for some time out in luxurious surroundings. Thanks

Hotels and motels in the “middle of nowhere” in NZ can be hit and miss, and this hotel is a big hit! We stayed in the studio unit. The units are quite large and have an open lounge, kitchen, bedroom which makes it feel even more spacious. The bathrooms are just off the lounge which provides convenient privacy. The units have recently been updated and are well furnished with nice fixtures. The bed is super comfortable and the shower is divine! And don’t even get us started on the stunning views! The hotel is about 5min easy drive from the village. We would get breakfast from the bakery in the village and then go off exploring. When we were there, the hotel was the only dinner place in Arthur’s Pass that was actually open, so it was super convenient. The restaurant has good comfort food and some vegan options including a vegan burger and tempeh salad. The atmosphere is really nice and the managers are super friendly and passionate about the hotel. A great stay!!!
H.
Professional service, good coffee and great chips.
T.
The Bealey Hotel is one of those places that you feel instant warmth from. The spa villa is a real treat, taking in those incredible views from the private spa were incredible. The owners are friendly and very down to earth. The food is so tasty - delicious lamb rack. Plus the best hot chips we have ever had - even better after a hike up the Bealey Spur. All in all a such a wonderful place to stay.
A.
This is a great place if you are doing trek for Arthur pass. We stayed in a villa of 5 people. They have a decent restaurant too. The view from the balcony overlooking the river is superb.
Only thing is about food coz I am a vegetarian and I had to eat vegan burger as it was the only option in the restaurant. No food places nearby so if you are choosy carry your own food. They provide a small kettle for tea and a small fridge.
Overall the experience with my buddies was super here.
M.
Popped in for a coffee before heading northbound. Fantastic service. Very Friendly for TA hikers, will hold bounce boxes. The lady at front service, making us coffee was fantastic! Didn't catch her name but she made us feel very at home 😊
O.
Loved our weekend away at the Bealey Hotel in the superior villa suite! Great spacious room with private spa. Food & service at the Crafty Moa (restaurant within the hotel) was excellent 😌
M.
Such great and friendly staff, we have had a most marvelous time. Enjoyed the spa and accommodation, super king bed. So clean tidy and the food is fantastic. Will come again.
B.
Exceptional staff, excellent restaurant and memorable views from unit windows. Highly recommended.
R.
Good service when 25 of us turned up on motorcycle run ,during covid ,good food
D.
I booked the hotel as an overnight stay during the coast to coast race. I could not have been happier. The bed was the best I have slept in for years. The rooms are newly refurbished and have great views down the valley over the river. I did bot eat at the hotel as I had special food my my husband and friends did. The meals were good and great value. I would highly recommend staying here especially if you are wanting to do some walks and explore the area.
J.
Great service , super friendly staff , lovely room super clean and tidy , fantastic views from room . Great pub food , will definitely return for another visit .
s.
Loved it here, wish we stayed longer. Room was nice warm had what we needed. Hosts were amazing so friendly and the food was the best. Great place for anybody to stay, nice warm fire and games while you wait for dinner or pool or just relax
M.
Excellent food and service in a beautiful location!
R.
We stayed here for the night in on of their newly renovated and refurbished rooms. These have been finished to a very high standard and are very comfortable with their King beds. We went up to the restaurant for dinner the food was delicious. All the staff were very helpful friendly and welcoming. I woukd highly recommend staying and dining here.
B.
We stayed here a few years ago when the previous and it was a bit average.
The new owners have done an amazing job of renovating it and the management team running are wonderful.
I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Arthur's pass that this is the place to be
F.
This historic pub has a spectacular location overlooking the Waimakariri River on the southern edge of Arthur’s Pass National Park. Travellers have been lodging here since 1865 and the hospitality of the Bealey Hotel is legendary. A few years back, its then publican reckoned he had seen a Moa (New Zealand’s giant, extinct bird) in the bush nearby. Whether this was true or not it certainly garnered a lot of free publicity for the Bealey Hotel and there is a giant moa statue overlooking the car park.
The Bealey’s sumptuous-appointed guest rooms, built on a terrace below the hotel itself, are like tiny oases of comfort in the wilderness. Our unit (which was more like a 5-star hotel room) had its own spa pool outside on its private deck and there is nothing more pleasant than lying in a bubbling pool of hot water while the alpine rain falls on your face and the ghost moon sails among the clouds.
The pub is a very friendly and welcoming place and the menu has a small but delicious range of pub grub-style food cooked with panache by the resident French-Welsh chef. Matty and Kirsty will make you very welcome and the staff are very competent, friendly and capable...let's face it, you have to be competent and adaptable to live out here in this splendid isolation!
So, stop by the Bealey. Have a few beers with the locals, play a game or two of pool then repair to your exquisite lodge room in the wilderness.
E.
Very nice place to drop in to. Great service and a good feed.
H.
The Bealey Hotel is an excellent place to stay if visiting the Arthurs Pass area or traveling through on route to the West Coast. We stayed in room 7 thoroughly it was comfortable, clean and warm - the bed great too. There were all the amenities to make tea coffee and even Netflix included. However, would highly recommend that you look for the view outside at Sunrise or Sunset - it was breathtaking. Thank you Matty and Kirsty for the excellent communication and accommodating our late check in. Look forward to stay again in the future.
R.
OMG! The bealey hotel was the highlight of my vacation to Canterbury. It was such a lovely place with the most amazing view. I absolutely loved the food and the staff were so great. The food was awesome and the dessert was to die for. It was brilliant. I'm so pleased to have stayed here.
N.
Stayed here 20 plus years ago, I've phoned to congrats you , so pleased to see your staff cleaning up our highways Your the people that don't get the accolades you deserve
E.
Lovely peaceful place with gorgeous views. Friendly helpful hosts, great food and beer, comfy bed. About 10k from Arthur's Pass Village so very handy.
J.
Such a beautiful spot in Arthurs pass. Great staff that made us feel very welcomed. Thanks again :)
J.
Lovely hotel. Options are limited in the area but even within this context the hotel is charming; spacious rooms, beautiful views, excellent house keeping, soft bathrobes, and all for less than the price of a motel. Far exceeded my expectations, will definitely stay next time I’m in the area.
B.
Nice place to eat or to stay. Good food, tidy rooms with comfy bed, friendly and helpful staff. Totally recommend if you're going through Arthur's Pass!
P.
Front desk helpful and friendly. Rooms clean. Bed comfortable king. Can complain about shower space, but I am not the smallest women God has made!. Food is freshly made and was delicious. Over all I place I would recommend.
R.
Great hospitality. Clean, tidy and good value. Especially amazing views. Would stay again.
D.
Great friendly service. Great food and coffee. Awesome views. Indoor and outdoor seating. Wheelchair accessible.
Cabins and backpacker accommodation available.
J.
We went to have something to eat as recommended by the information center at Arthur's pass. The food was great, the service superb as they went an extra mile for us. We sat to enjoy the magnificent view while we ate. It was great. Nice atmosphere, curious stuff inside. We couldn't make it for dinner sadly but we will definitely come back. Highly recommended!
S.
We really enjoyed our stay with Matty and Kirsty. This is a family run business and they absolutely nailed it. The location, value and food choices made it the best hotel experience we ever had.
J.
Great place with unbelievable views. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. A great place to stop on your way to the west coast
P.
Hope to return for a meal they looked delicious.
A.
Nice motel and restaurant just a couple of kms out of Arthur's Pass. Quick efficient service. Meals were huge, which is not a good thing if you can't eat it all. Great walk down to the river.
D.
Great place to stay and eat. Had a really nice meal, accom was warm. And the staff are second to none in making you comfortable. Highly recommend
C.
It was great staying here! Dinner was good, the family service was great, and the villa with he spa capped it off
L.
My husband and I were so impressed with the Bealey Hotel - it exceeded our expectations by a long shot! Excellent value for modern facilities with sooo much comfort and a stunning view to top it off. Thank you Bealey. Can't wait to return!!
S.
A must stop just for the views. Never mind the fantastic food, good ale, cosey environment and extra friendly staff.
N.
Worth the 10 min drive out of Arthur's Pass for the stunning views. Great location for a drink and meal. The kids loved the gardens
K.
Had such a great night here. They had great friendly staff, awesome food, and clean accommodations. I'm surprised people complain about outdated bathrooms. Like who cares? They were clean. The bar staff even searched high and low for a deck of cards for us
M.
Great place to come after a long hike. They offer a simple dinner with large portions. They have a bar with plenty of drink options. A great view from every angle. Only stopped in for dinner so can't comment on accommodation.
I.
This was the perfect place to stay. The Villas are very modern and the restaurant is both convenient and delicious. I will recommend it to my friends and family.
S.
Great place, great food, great price
R.
Nice location
Rooms a little dated but pricing is up there and the best value is the most expensive funnily enough.
Meals are very good value and excellent quality
A.
Lovely place, great food, kind staff and wonderful views! Loved our room we will be staying again, thank you so much! :)
R.
Awesome spot with awesome staff and great food. Will be back
Z.
The view was fantastic due to the hotel's strategic location. While not included, the food at the restaurant has exceeded expectations. We had breakfast there and everything we ordered was quality and reasonably priced. Staffs were friendly and helpful as well.
Cleanliness is something to be improved on (there were obvious uncleaned spots on blankets, curtains, etc.). Our room was small as well, could only fit in the beds and no more. The bed was smaller than usual bed for 2 too.
P.
Outstanding hospitality. Went for a boys weekend, staff very helpful, food delicious and beer was cold. Thanks so much for a brilliant weekend.
B.
Great place to relax. Isolated with no internet coverage. Stayed 2 nights with a group. No vegetarian options at the dining.
P.
We went for a meal. Had the pork belly and lamb salad. Both very good. Friendly welcome, nice position with fantastic views. Pleased we stopped.
L.
Awesome help from staff here. Super friendly and very decently priced accommodation and beers compared to similar in Arthur's Pass. Watched the rugby and had a burger. No complaints at all. Thanks for the warm reception!!
O.
Great place, very cozy and good food. 15 - 20 min drive from Arthur's pass. Definitely recommend as it's a nice place that has stunning mountain views and is close to beautiful alpine walks
R.
Wonderful new look with great service and food.. Definitely recommend the bealey hotel 😀
P.
Staff and owner very hospitable. Great steak. Fantastic views
S.
Good pub food
The views from this hotel are spectacular and the food is very good. Everything is freshly cooked and we thought that our steak, vegetable and salad sides were excellent. We didn't try any of the pies in the display cabinet but they looked amazing - and home cooked!
R.
Awesome meal and great place for a break. Refreshments available if you can get away from the moa😁
R.
Fabulous staff (&, family) awesome service and food was delicious, lovely clean units, highly recommended for a night away
E.
Very remote location. The rooms are small and dated, it could definitely use some updating. Things seemed clean, however, and the restaurant on site had some really good food at a price. Management was very friendly.
Y.
We've just been at the bar and that was nice, great fish and chips and pies. View is fantastic
K.
Visited pub. Great view, nice fries, great with kids - connect 4 :) friendly staff.
S.
Amazing food. Really tasty; very well done. The girl at the kitchen amazingly friendly
N.
Didn’t stay here but the pies where delicious and gas free wifi, which is great cause there is no phone reception. Pub was clean and the service fast and friendly
N.
Really great service fantastic rustic styled pub.
Always great for a beer and chips on the way or way back from the coast
F.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming, after a long day working with a long night of driving ahead I couldn't have asked for better servicd!
I.
Owners were freindly and room was great. Food was tasty and well priced.
D.
Really nice location with some pretty amazing views. The motel units are separate and you have a private balcony overlooking the river and large mountains. The units are a bit dated but everything was clean and I'd recommend the place just for the location. The food at the main lodge was good, we had the fish and lamb shanks. Would have liked to stay longer.
p.
excellent and friendly staff. awesome views of the river and the mountains. short drive to do some amazing walks.
C.
Three plus stars. The hotel/hostel has older buildings, but the room and common areas were very clean. The food in the restaurant was good and there is a bar on site. It's about 10 Km down the road from the train station, but I was able to get a ride in a few minutes hitchhiking. The views are spectacular and there are a number of treks nearby. I would definitely stay here again.
M.
Chilly up here over the Pass but restaurant warm and friendly. Small Lovely unit. Family friendly.
c.
Ok room and facility to stay for overnight. Good location. Unfortunately, one of my friend had diarrhoea after having dinner at the restaurant/cafe.
J.
Great meals, Awesome views, and good clean and tidy units.
H.
Great place to stop for a food and drink with stunning views
D.
Stunning alp views and upper waimak.. Great sitting outside enjoying a cold one or inside by the fire. Good pub food.
L.
Love the views, great service but the rooms are a bit dated, need flywire screens (lots of sand flies) and needs air-conditioning.
C.
Lovely friendly staff and great food. Duck fat roasties!!!! Yum. And a local came for a visit. #kea
L.
Love the complete change in the whole bar n dining area...looks so inviting n comfy with leather chairs tables n leaners...our bar person was quick n efficency making us beaut bowl of lovely hot chips to share amongst the four of us...they jst need to arrange fridge space to put their beer glasses in when having a jug of beer...glasses need to be chilled prior...he said they were working on that...would call in again on way or way home again...last few times not nice experience but this time really worth it...🙂🙂😃😃
J.
The new publicans have made a great improvement, the menu is well priced, with massive portions, staff always seem to be friendly, and the beer is cold
S.
Great place to get away from it all. Close to walking tracks. Excellent accommodation and wonderful food.
V.
Great place to stop and look at the view while having a beer and food
R.
The place looked a bit strange when we got there but we were delighted to find that this place is awesome. The staff were super friendly and helpful, suggesting a nice hike. The dinner (specifically the chicken and the burger) were some of the best I've had. Their breakfast was quite good too. The view from our room was the flower-laiden river valley with mountain backdrop. Couldn't have asked for a cooler place.
The shower is a bit small, and the roof was banged a bit with the wind, but I can't complain about those as the rest of the experience was too good.
j.
Lovely old fashioned ambience. Good food good service.G
R.
Nice accomodation and a good view on the mountains. Would also come again for the Burgers.
m.
This place is the best place to stay at Aurthurs pass !! Great hospitality ,great cabbin style accommodation and an awesome view !! we had such a great stay here ! a definate highlight of our trip to nz
A.
Good price, excellent portion sizing. Ok pub food. Great place to stop on the way home from tramping.
B.
Friendly staff and a welcome oasis on a rainy day. We had showers (hot and spacious) and did some laundry (washer, ok, dryer, a bit small). Coffee at the bar was great with an awesome view across the pass and a warm fire in the corner.
R.
Just all day snacks when we arrived. A bit run down but nice manager, very friendly
J.
Very clean, spacious and very delicious breskfast. Super friendly stuff. Recomend.
Y.
Historic place and beautiful view in the rooms. Yummy food. However there is no mobile phone coverage (you have to drive 30 min to Arthur's Pass village for a phone call), some rooms has very bad wifi connection, plus it could be really cold at night.
盛.
Location is excellent. The view out of the room is amazing. However the room itself is a bit dated. Linens and being could be better too. The highlight is its restaurant, very cozy and had this family friendly vibe. There is also a pool table and a TV.
You can walk around the units to get down to the riverbed. Water is it cold even in summer. The hotel has WiFi, was really hard to connect to. Once connected it didn't need any password. The hotspot name is different from what's in the restaurant. Not sure what's up with that.
J.
Great place with cold beers . Couple of Kea swooping round too
K.
Nice place to stay and have dinner. Frendly staff.
C.
Awesome location, tasty food and great staff! Perfect after a days walking.
A.

B.
Great service, meals are huge and good variety on the menu
t.
Comfortable affordable accommodation and dining. Take the time to read the excellent journals on district's history, available in the lounge. Wonderful scenery to observe and photograph.
K.
Great mountain location. Great food. Staff friendly and casual
D.
Haven't been in here for two years. The place has been refurbished and looks great. Prices are really good. Worth a visit.
K.
The service was great, however, the food was a bit too less.
P.
Great stop off lovely food & meals.
Staff a excellent with plenty of smiles.
A.
Meal was ok for the type of pub atmosphere, the young lady serving us seemed tired n distracted and overcharged us..only noticed by us. Also older bar tender went out to have a smoke, lit it in the actual resturant...n did not wash his hands on his return. Food enjoyable but will not return due to staff.
r.
Rooms okay. Food awesome ( if you like beef nachos) good location
K.
Great accommodations! Great quality. Good food at restaurant.
R.
Nice view, quiet place, but a bit old and Wifi coverage is pathetic...
T.
Just had a coffee and a chocolate tart, which was good. View is excellent.
T.
Stopped here for lunch - staff were lovely. Great location & yummy food.
S.
An old but comfortable hotel in Arthur's Pass. A lot of history here. Beautiful stark views from the back of the rooms with a path down to the sheep pen. Restaurant bar is cosy on a cold evening with good drinks. They take some effort with the food but it's slightly lacking. Our medium rare steaks came out medium well but the potatoes were lovely.
S.
Excellent service and fresh food. Enjoyed our visit
R.
I love this place, best burger I've ever eaten, best quiche and the best apple turnover thanks to Kim the pastry chef. The accomadation is clean with all the amenities required.
j.
Great stop before Arthur's pass. Good simple food at a great price. Comfortable dining space. With great views.
G.
Awesome place plus delicious food.
It is a very nice weekend gateway to relax.
K.
Nice place with a beautiful view, the best apple turnover I ever tasted!
A.
Brilliant location, incredibly welcoming and friendly staff. Great weekend away - we will be back.
D.
Fantastic hosts, yummy food & coffee, great atmosphere and magical setting. Definitely stop here if you're passing
P.
Cheap and cheerful. Don't expect 5 stars coz its not that kind of place. BUT THE SCENERY IS!!!
M.
We had a large, modern apartment in a breathtaking location. There is a complete restaurant onsite with a full menu and bar. Remote. There are no other facilities within 5 miles. It's a 10 minute drive to Arthur's Pass with its one cafe, two restaurants, and single gas pump - but we didn't come for the nightlife.
D.
Poor food that was overpriced. Stunning views and location.
S.
One of the best hotels I stayed with a spectacular view... Tasty food was an add on
P.
Had the pasta special the pasta was overcooked and somehow all the strands were really short but i guess not terrible for being in the middle of nowhere
S.
Great spot and views. Rooms are basic but clean, cosy, and functional, bed was very comfortable. Windows have fly-screens, so ignore the reviews that say otherwise. Hospitality and food was excellent, lamb shanks some of the best I've had. Do the Bealey Spur Hut walk for some postcard views. Will be back.
P.
warm . fun to stop by and have a coffee and a game of pool
great views
S.
Cosy place with a great homely atmosphere, definitely a great place to stop stretch the legs and grab a good feed
M.
Wonderful views and good food.
A.
The rooms overlook the great Waimakariri River, with mountains in the background. Morning and evening views are spectacular.
J.
Delicious food, great views and super comfy bed.
I.
Great little place, very friendly staff, clean restaurant, great food A+++++
d.
Such a great stay with fantastic views
a.
Great food at a good price and good new management. Would recommend! :-)
M.
It was ok. The room was so small my body touched both sides while lying in bed. Lamb shank was expensive and poorly cooked.
A.
This place is a must stop. Fabulous views great hospitality and very nice remodeled rooms.
L.
Stopped at the Bealey Hotel for lunch on the way to Greymouth. I had the fish of the day it was served with fries and salad. Very generous serving couldn't eat it all but very nice. The venison hot pot was enjoyed by my husband. 😋.
R.
Great pub food, friendly staff, amazing location
P.
Stopped there to have lunch. The food was delicious and the service excellent!
A.
Nice place to stop for a night and have drinks at their bar. Very less vegetarian options and the owner's daughter and wife didn't seem too friendly though the owner himself was very nice to us. The bar manager Nikhil entertained us well though it was not his working day. He also suggested a nice hike nearby. Restaurant closes at 8pm and bar at 9pm. Cabins are a small walk downhill from the bar and restaurant. They are small and OK with good views of the river valley. WiFi is not available in the rooms. Neither is it free at the bar and restaurant. $5 for 50MB. A dissapear considering there's no cell phone reception too in the area.
C.
Just been refurbished looking fantastic well done
T.
New owners, new attitude and nèw atmosphere, bloody awesome spot to stop on your travels.
P.
Great service. Top food and beer.We will be back for more.
A.
We didn’t stay but best pub grub I have had in a while.

Didn't stay but good food and beer. Cheap as for the middle of nowhere.

S.
Great place to stay! Stunning views from the room!
B.
It's a good stopover, but needs to be updated
M.
Best place in Arthur's Pass for dinner, and the view is lovely.
S.
Will definitely come back next time for more tracking nearby.
T.
Ok for the price, views are the best thing
A.
Room was clean but basic and dated.
C.
Fantastic pies and a magnificent view
a.
Sitting at the riverbed, it has one of the best views.
C.
Beef wine and cheese pie was awesome
D.
Satisfying meals. Would definitely return.

When companies prioritize a policy above the needs of customers, it shows. The golden rule — treat others the way you want to be treated — should trump any protocol. If you’re not sure how to respond in a scenario, think about what’s the kindest, most honest thing to do. This overarching ethos can easily prevent really bad customer service stories from happening on your watch.
