Great service and awesome staff. Food was brilliant with plenty of variety to choose from. All staff wore their masks at all times. And they sprayed and wiped tables between costumer's. Busy place so book ahead if you can.

Have visited Brigittes twice recently and would highly recommend this venue for breakfast, lunch or just to meet a friend for a delicious coffee. Attractive old worldly but modern decor indoors, and also a charming extensive, sheltered outdoor area.

Great latte and food! We had the salmon bagel and the benny. Good atmosphere and vibe, the staffs were really friendly

Very tasty lunch. Would be good if serving staff wore masks as required under level 2. Hanging a mask off one ear doesn't give a lot of protection.

Went to Brigettes on Sunday morning with the family. Great atmosphere sitting outside in the sun, food was tasty and the coffee spot on. I was really impressed by the service from all staff, really attentive and friendly. I would absolutely recommend and will be dining here again!

Brigittes has been a Merivale destination forever 😊 but it never disappoints. Great coffee, service and delicious food.

We had the lamb salad, the chicken salad and a side of fries between us. Salads were good. Fries really good but arrived a LONG time later. Be great if you could book online. I think we are in the day and age when having to call during certain hours and even then get an answer phone, leave a message, get a text back, respond back and forth a few times is hard work, and to be honest it would put me off rebooking even though the food was perfectly ok

Lovely place for breakfast, amazing service & felt very welcome.

Grown and bits added here and then. Feels a bit odd but once seated fine. Food and service still good. Parking at mall best. Had brunch and dinner here and both good.

One of the best cafes in Christchurch, located in the centre of Merivale with excellent food/drink selections, served by distinctly well presented staff. A choice of seating in main cafe, or there is the relaxed seating area outside. Perfect for warm days. Also additional covered area at far side of courtyard. It makes a huge difference being served by persons who care about their appearance & pleasant when interacting with patrons. Bridgittes covers the big three moments of truth; quality of food/drinks, ambience & professional yet friendly staff.

Popped in for breakfast/brunch with a friend. Same perfect service, perfect food and lovely time. 20 years I've been going and their recipe for success is still going strong!

This place is great for a delicious breakfast of pancake or a yummy lunch in the sun, however the dinner menu is very expensive however you do get a completely different dining experience at dinner time it is geared more towards fine dining which is reasonable. The platters are really yummy and a great addition to a friend catchup

Mid last week: great coffee, lovely staff! Sunday just gone: great coffee, stressed out waitstaff, duty manager not interested if you've had an enjoyable experience. Felt rushed and unwanted. Not the local institution I'd been reading about. Food (eggs benedict, mushroom bruschetta) was only ok, I'm guessing you're paying that much due to location of the cafe. Probably will only go back for a weekday coffee.

Good food, good men's and excellent service

Elegant decor, friendly staff, a bit pricy for their basic breakfast options but quite tasty. Your also paying for the nice ambiance so definitely ticks the box for solid option. Will try more of the menu again. Coffee was done well.

Yet another brunch/late night option in Merivale. While it's best to make a booking, there are plenty of tables inside and out that walk-ins in small numbers (2) should be fine. We made a booking and were seated immediately at a cute little table overlooking the patio seating. The cafe is cute and no frills, but offers a full lunch menu (after 3pm, and looked amazing) and serves breakfast until 3 pm. Our coffee orders were taken immediately and water was brought to the table. We waited for over 10 minutes for our coffee to be served (one barista making coffee for the entire restaurant = sleeping zombies grumbling at tables) and for our food order to be taken. Finally someone came to our table and we ordered pancakes (with bacon, cream and strawberries) and the Big Breakfast (tomato, mushroom, bacon, sausage, poached eggs, toast, hashbrown). The food was served much quicker. The Pancakes: large and fluffy (looked whole wheat maybe?) slightly overcooked for my taste. Not enough syrup (and I don't even care much for syrup) but the bottom pancake was soggy with a concoction of strawberry juice and syrup. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the cream pairs well with the pancakes if you're not a big syrup person. Very filling meal. The Big Breakfast: The sausages were spicy for my palate, but someone with a (American) southwestern flare will love them. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the eggs were poached to perfection. I didn't try the toast, hashbrown (golden brown and crispy), tomato or mushroom as it wasn't my breakfast, but my husband cleared the plate. Overall, the food is slightly above average but no stand-out to the rest of the options around Papanui Road. The service could have been slightly more efficient, but with only one barista and a small service area, that would be hard to change. I won't rush back here for breakfast, but it definitely is a decent option if you want a quick and filling breakfast. I'll update again once I try out their lunch.

With great coffee, friendly and polite staff in a classy old world setting I can't really fault this place.

Happy to help with dietary requirements. We would have ordered another drink if staff had come to our table after we had finished our meal. Ended up talking for 30mins then paying bill at counter.

A great place for lunch on a sunny Christchurch day. The food is great but I was a little let down by the berry smoothie that lacked any strong flavour.
