Such a great place. Wide selection of beers, wines and spirits. The food is superb and such good value. The staff are friendly and helpful. A lovely relaxing place to be. Can't wait to go back (several times) when we next visit Christchurch.

This is a great little suburban bar and restaurant. Food is tasty with several cheaper items on the menu for those who are watching their dollars. Nice atmosphere. Good place to go to catch up with friends (pays to book and reserve your table in advance as it can get busy).

Very busy place on a Friday night. At first very disappointed as we were turned away as they were full but had clear tables One particular barman Nikko was extremely good and explained everything incredibly well. He apologised and said even if you were seated now the meals would take some time. This eased my concerns and to say the least my impression was that he is extremely good at his job. We may possibly return at a later date. All bar staff here are very good and very efficient. The babd 'Old School' was playing this evening and it was an awesome time.

Entertainment. Pokie room. Meals. Very popular place. Always a few people there of mixed ages. Very attentive staff. Great pasta, that's all I've had there but sure the other food great as very popular place. An outside covered area with tall tables and tall stools. And a couched seating as well. Friendly customers. Never feel out of place. A couple big screens for games etc. Always an enjoyable visit.

Went here for quiz night and the night was quite nice. The bar snacks are very good and reasonably priced. They have a good variety of specials.

Had my parents down from Napier for a few days and they treated me to dinner both nights they were here. First night we went to Loan star and were left with a sour taste with how bad the experience was. The next night we came to Coaster's. I didn't have much knowledge of their restaurant or menu as I have only ever gone in for a drink. But wow were my parents and I were very impressed. Very good food and very good service. Will definitely be back!

Have always enjoyed this restaurant. Nicely cooked for me but rather big meals. Small deserts for the menfolk and 1 loaf of bread for 5 adults. Little disappointed this time round.

Dined here twice this week, had the 2 course roast on the Sunday night, found the serving size on the small side but the food was well cooked and tasted great. On the Wed night had their $15.00 steak meal which was a good size, well cooked and very tasty. Staff were great but service was a little slow.

We went for the Xmas menu with my 84 year old dad and we all thought the meals were good. Lovely food and good atmosphere. I had roast of the day which was a choice of pork or chicken. I chose pork. My husband enjoyed pan fried monk fish. Both meals were very good. The restaurant has a large seating capacity but was not overcrowded. I'd recommend this restaurant.

Really delicious food. Friendly and professional staff. We got a seat in the corner (high chairs) to have a food despite they were fully booked - we were really happy as we were just passing by and did not want to look for other place to eat. Definitely recommend.

After awesome follow up from Linda we were able to give Coasters another try. My husband ordered the surf n turf. This was massive and he said it was very tasty. I ordered the salmon. The asparagus was cooked PERFECT. The sauce was different to what i expected but very tasty all the same. Unfortunately the salmon was way overcooked. But i still enjoyed it. Cannot fault the staff and service.

A relaxed restaurant and bar with gambling options, close to other shops, and a small walk to our nearby Motel. Reasonably priced, a good sized menu (with Gluten Free options), and it tasted great. Typical prices for drinks and beer. This is generally an upscale, yet relaxed pub, with all the usual facilities, great food and comfortable experience altogether.

Great little find! After a long day of 6hr driving we were hungry but wanting something more than just plain ol takeaway. We found this on the maps and glad we did, food was great, drinks were wet and the staff were very friendly

First time visiting, went in for a quick work lunch break, gentalman on the bar was such a sweetie and very welcoming. Came to the table to take my order, explained the lunch specials and I settled for Monk Fish as a blackboard special. YuM welcome team and I will certainly be returning.

Good meals and prices. Nice modern decor. Great social club for the locals with Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights the busiest. Great atmosphere when the pub is pumping but can get loud if you want a quiet or intimate chat or night out.

Came to the tavern for our first quiz night and were thoroughly impressed with the set up, the official booklets and answer sheets. We got to the tavern 45mins before the quiz started, enough time to get some food. Menu was varied and not just the usual fried everything that some places do. Loved that Wednesday is wing night and a bucket is only $6! Although we waited a while for the food to come out didn't matter we were quizzing and had a great night, food was good quality, plenty in the portion and delicious. Needless to say we'll be back again next week!

It's ok, basic menu options as you'd expect but the food was good and the prices were ok. Can get noisy, so if you're looking for a quieter night out, this might not be the place. The meals we ordered took around 45 mins to come out, a bit on the slow side.
