Was a nice place to go for a Friday after work beverage with a mate. Cassels on tap which was a welcome surprise and there looked to be plenty in the spirits and wine departments to choose from too. Staff were attentive and polite, and looked after us really well. My only criticism was the bathroom, which I'm sure the managers/owners are well aware of - if the door opens (you forget to push the button to lock it) the whole front courtyard will see you doing your business. So it was a high anxiety time on the loo. But otherwise, you should definitely check this place out!

Great restaurant had a lovely night with friends. The place is small and cozy and what they make in their small kitchen is excellent. Staff are friendly and background music not intrusive.

Evil Genius is a sanctuary of great vibes, beautiful people and delicious food! Its the best 'local' I've ever frequented and will continue to do so as long as I'm standing! ....(oh and I met my most gorgeous soulmate at our first date here :-)

Amazing staff and vibe. The food was amazing, high praise for the cauliflower, dumplings and tofu. And all The dishes, be it vege or meat were well revived by the table. Great sprinkle of chilli through all the dishes, which come out on a ‘as ready’ basis. Couldn’t fault the place. Top marks team!

Just went there for coffee, discovered the place accidentally at the rear of the establishment. Asked for large coffees, I think the cups compared to other places was only a medium 8 oz cup. No sweeteners either. Mind you the coffee was still good.

Friendly staff, greeted straight away. Didn't have a reservation but served us anyway. Food was delicious and prompt to order. Highly recommend and would dine in again without question.

I had my birthday party at evil genius on Saturday. Natalie and her team were absolutely amazing. I can highly recommend this venue for private functions as well as casual dining from Wednesday to Sunday. I have had so many people who attended and commented on the amazing food and cocktails. Thank you evil genius for the most amazing night.

Went for dinner and cocktails Friday night. Fantastic food and cocktails. The staff were amazing. The bartender made up cocktails based on your flavour preferences. Awesome place. We will be back!!

Beautiful scenery situated across from Sumner beach. Really lovely staff who were most welcoming and obliging. Great service and delicious food! Kids loved it also! Superb atmosphere.

Tasty food, friendly staff, good music and a nice relaxed spot. Just be prepared for a long wait (and maybe having to remind them that you ordered food). Also the prices are getting a bit high for the portions.

This is such the place to go. Be perfect on a summer evening, hearing the sound of the water what an awesome atmosphere, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, the chef what such a delight it was to try your food what a punch in the face of flavour and the prices were pretty good too. Loved the music and the fact you cater to children as well. We will see you again I think my mouth is going to be watering for the next month thinking about that food.

The sign of a good place, is wanting to drop by on your way home from hospital after just having a baby. We love that the Evil crew are welcoming- no matter how we turn up. Evil Genius combines friendly staff, awesome food, relaxed environment and a good vibe. We love the party events, no menu mondays, fried chicken and just general awesomeness. Definitely the best place to go for a sneaky cocktail and bite to eat on this side of town. Thanks for having such a great place to hang out, can’t wait until we can come back and visit.

Fantastic spot with extraordinarily friendly staff. The fried chicken is an absolute must and the options for kids are decent. Chips are slightly spicy for wee ones though.. but not in inedibly so

Very cool place; with a funky, intimate atmosphere, warm and friendly staff and fantastic food. Even though we arrived a bit late in the evening, we were made to feel very welcome and the food was served piping hot, beautifully presented and in a timely manner. Will definitely be back. Cheers!

We love this place !! Great ambience , great food & super friendly staff. It was the perfect venue for our wedding/birthday party and Natalie & her staff made it a very special evening . We have had many a great evening here having a boogie to their DJ's

The fried chicken and fried cauliflower is amazing, they also do a great bowl of chips! Service was also top quality. A shame that the non-smoking area doesn’t face the sea.

Had a bit of a misunderstanding with my order, but when they realised they owned it, I love that. When it turned up though, wow! You have to have the deep fried cauliflower and the tofu was gorgeous. Thanks guys will definitely be returning.

The coffee was fantastic. The vanilla latte is hands down the best one over ever can. We added a banana chocolate muffin and were in heaven. I would definitely recommend stopping in.

I did not expect to meet so many inspirational and helpful people. From helping with technology, establishing business policy or to just listen to your ideas over a drink at the end of the day this spot is a keeper. The environment is easy and they are flexible to your needs, from standing desks to extra screens and lunch delivery from the cafe next door is the extra pampering that will ruin you for anywhere else.
