P.One of the best pub in town. Best location. We enjoyed the Saturday night thoroughly. Music was fantastic. Bar staff was friendly and helpful. Setting arrangements and interior was good. It was little bit crowded but fine. Security is also up to the mark. If you are looking for fun at weekends then this is place.. 🤩🎶📣

S.It's a nice atmosphere here, overlooking the river and Oxford Terrace from the balcony outside. The food is not too bad at all and there is a good range of drinks. Quirky layout - the men's and women's toilets are amusing, although they might confuse non-English speaking tourists. Very enjoyable on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon!
H.The Bar itself is amazing for drinks and for those that like to indulge(clubbing). However management could do with a pep talk with the bouncers.
Some of these guys/girls think they are powerful beings sent to protect us. Calm down mate, you're a security guard in a suit. Stop "power tripping".
M.Best view for people watching. Big upstairs bar with a veranda right round. Enjoy the sun while having a drink. Great bar food. Got really busy and took a while to get served but was not too long. We had a great table so were willing to wait ✋

L.I like the bar itself, but a couple of weeks ago I was standing below it, on Hereford Street, waiting for a taxi, and someone threw their glass off the balcony onto the footpath below - it only just missed hitting me. I tried to call Fat Eddie’s to tell them someone was throwing glasses and they failed to answer the phone several times, meanwhile these guys continued acting like idiots up on the balcony.
g.Fat eddies on a stunning labour day Monday, live music watching the finale of the Christchurch Big Band festival, the bourbon ribs cooked to perfection, melting in the mouth with so much flavour, nice cold steiny pure in the sunshine. Not many better ways to spend an afternoon.
P.A revamped jazz bar once part of the Lordship lane is now on the Oxford Strip overlooking the mighty Avon river. Similar look and feel to what it was like pre-Earthquake. Has a New Orleans vibe with neon lighting and various brass instruments hanging on the wall as part of their decor. The pipes against brick interior make the place as funky as the music they play. Various bands mostly quality CPIT jazz school graduates. A dancing floor catered for happy clappy people showing some Charlston dance moves. Quirky and well dressed bar staff. A fantastic Saturday night out.

N.Pretty solid place in Christchurch, they usually have great live music at night. The drinks are good and the service is usually speedy despite how busy it can get.

Menu is very limited and is rather pricey. However, this is a great place for social get togethers or a night out

- The floor was very sticky and the tables disgusting. The smell of the cigarettes can be very annoying too.
- With a poor hygiene and cleaning like this, we decided to go somewhere else to eat.

K.Used to be my favourite place but now its crowded, overpriced and full of youngsters now! Great bands and good for a dance, if you can stand the queues and fighting for a spot on the dance floor...I may sound grumpy, but I liked it better before the youth started going 🤣

b.What an amazing experience! The bar and staff are helpful and friendly. The entertainment is probably the best in town! Night time crowds in with a full house of high energy music and the whole place literally bounces. Earlier in the evening is usually Jazz and Blues entertainment and is great for dinner and even a dance. The food is well priced too. No need to worry about parking, there's parking buildings close to the strip too!
K.Awesome party atmosphere! Always love the live music and good vibes. Spacious area and great mix of age's. Not just youth culture! Gets a bit crammed around the bar area but staff are awesome! Definitely recommend for a fun night out, probably better in a group of mates than just couples.

A.Very nice to listen live music. Love the vibe and great location. Good beer as well. Unfortunately it can get way too crowded and you can end up not enjoying it much. Recommend all days but Friday and Saturday

D.I didn't get to see live music but they were setting up while I was there. Wall art is cool and the atmosphere is excellent. Good place to eat and drink indoors or outside. One of the best bars in Christchurch I've been to.

T.This was the best bar we found on a little crawl on a friday night. Great music from live bands (multiple per night). Good selection of drinks...can't speak for the food as didn't eat here.
Security seemed a little uptight to anyone showing drunk tendencies and were quick to chuck you out. My well behaved group of 20 had 2 or 3 people thrown out which ruined the mood somewhat.

C.The greatest bar on the Terrace, possibly even in Christchurch. The music is always fantastic, a guaranteed good time any night of the week. Staff are usually lovely but I certainly don't blame them for being off a little bit when it's super busy!!

M.Great view out over the river. Good people watching from here too. Simple, but satisfying range of beers on tap - Speights, Emerson's Pilsner, Little Creatures Pale Ale, and Tokyo Dry lager. One staff member had a nice friendly smile, the other was a bit cold. Nice jazz band with great vocalist playing while we were there (Sunday afternoon). Got a plate of wedges - tasty with plenty of sour cream.
O.Went for a work function. Good selection of drinks and the live music is a bonus. I understand that they often have a band going. I stayed for a few hours and it was starting to get really busy which is great for some.
P.I like this place when there isn't so many boomers at one time just bumping into each other spilt my drink on many occasions as a result. But I still like the vibe of this place always a good night.

L.Absolutely loved my first experience at Fat Eddies. The bartenders were funny, and actually talk to you. The seating was very comfortable(old style chairs and couches) I really enjoyed the live band playing classical funky numbers. Will definitely be back!
C.Cool place with a great atmosphere, live music and pizza.. what more could you want!? Beers are standard price and there is a nice selection, staff were really nice. It doesn't get busy during weeknights and is a good place to wind down after a long day.
C.Great space and very friendly staff. Had tasty margarita pizza. Place didn't seem to be very accessible with only stairs to get in, shame since CHCH trying hard to work towards being an accessible city.
Also funky smell in ladies toilets from santary bins, few hot days they might need a change or get bins that lid contains smell.
Other than that good atmosphere and overall cool venue.
M.This is an awesome venue for live music and entertainment however the bouncers and security seemed to be on edge and seemed to only be intrested in letting drunk underage woman through the door. I wouldn't normally drink here or take friends here unless there was a band that I wanted to see. Prices were also expensive.
M.Greatest large space venue in Christchurch. Amazing musicians, awesome door staff and bar staff, nice balcony with room for many, food pretty good too. Can't fault it. Ten points, outstanding quality of staff...this is the key to success in hospo.
D.There is often a bit of a line to get in on a Saturday but it's worth the wait. Great drinks with loads of tables that overlook the river out on the balcony. The live band is superb.

A.Always one of the nicer bars to hang out at. Prices reflect the atmosphere which is never less than 4 star in my experience. Really nice food, good entertainment. Check it out!
c.I always stop here when driving to/ from the lower 48. The food is decent, though nothing spectacular. The staff is friendly, portions are decent and the hotel rooms are clean and neat. A good value for the price considering where you are (if you're new to Alaska everything is more expensive than the lower 48, especially so the farther you get from Anchorage).
M.Love the place and the fact they have cool bands of different genres playing there regularly! I just came from listening and dancing to Latin music from the band Son Tumbao on a Wednesday.. so much fun!

Cocktails such as the Long Island Iced Tea is very tasty and worth the $20 as you get 5 different spirits in it.
Outdoor balcony seating with a view of the Avon river and the memorial bridge can be good but the smokers usually spoil it.
The food menu here is mostly snacks such as pizza bread or chips.

M.One of my favourite places to visit in the city. The outdoor seats have a great view of the city and river while the indoor seats are treated to really great live music on the right night. A really great place to visit with friends or on a date
J.Bar itself is great. Band was amazing, great food and friendly staff. Mens toilets were pretty disgusting and i was dissipointed with the bouncers when I asked for help findi g someones friend that was inside. I had to basically babysit a 40 year old drunk lady cause he wouldnt help
L.Busy bar had fab band on the Friday night - good place for dancing. Decor funky, cocktails and bar snacks good. Get there early if you want to get best seats
O.First club experience; Fat Eddie's is extremely loud, often extremely crowded, and overall is a lot. But if you spend enough time (and money on 15 dollar drinks) there, douse yourself in enough sweat, and get the hang of whipping your hair, the experience turns out pretty alright. Accidentally bumped into a guy's cigarette and burned my arm. My ears are now ringing. I'm wondering what it would be like to do five shots of vodka and hit up the art gallery.
n.Ok bar and nice place to dance Saturday evening. Doormen are a bit uptight though with people & bar staff are average..shame as I thought it would be a bit more nice and easy with a few more characters... Worth a try though
R.Decent price, pleasant vibe and really nice live music! I haven't had decent music as such in many places here, this was a bliss.
B.Had a coffee and scone with colleagues. Real nice coffee and decent and well priced date scone and butter for 3 bucks (scone). Comfortable seating in front of a roaring fire on a cold southerly day - heaven!!! Recommend and will return.
C.We had an awesome night here. Dancing the night away with all ages. Drinks pricey but water on hand for free to hydrate. Doormen and club security kept everyone's night free of hassle. Toilets clean.....check out parking before you go. Wilson's car parking will strip your wallet.

J.Bar itself is great. Band was amazing, great food and friendly staff. Mens toilets were pretty disgusting and i was dissipointed with the bouncers when I asked for help findi g someones friend that was inside. I had to basically babysit a 40 year old drunk lady cause he wouldnt help
