Drinks are good but food is eh. Ordered Angus steak medium rare, was not medium rare and tough. The meat was dry and placed side ways in the middle of the plate. However, drinks were good and really great customer service and friendly staff. 👌

Great place! Stone grill meal was awesome, and the loaded fries were HUGE and delicious. Wish we had had space for dessert. Service was great as well.

Pleasant but found eating inside too noisy to have a meal & catch up on the day. I enjoyed their battered fried chicken burger. I recommend if the weather allows to sit outside. Putting that aside the waitering staff were friendly and made the dining experience great 😊👍

Fantastic service, we had the stonegrill and it was delicious, highly recommend. Finished off with chocolate sundaes, great dining experience and will definitely be back.

Have been here twice before, reception and table service was jovial and professional. Fish n chip meals were very good, however the coffee was not pleasant and lacked colour / flavour. There were also some language by some wait staff that would have been better out of customer earshot. I would go again however.

Lone star was a great night out. Awesome place to come to, the food was on par! Had an amazing beef and pork belly burger left feeling full and happy. The fried chicken is a fantastic starter. Top it all of with skillet cookie for dessert. Look forward to booking here again!

Atmosphere is good. Food selection is ample. Cooking of the steaks can be a bit hit and miss.

Fox was quite good! Pretty old fashioned theme with the decorated which was kinda cool. The staff were friendly and helpful with menu's and seating arrangements. Group of us but our food arrived really quick! I ordered the chicken burger which was okay but had better, the board it came on made it hard to eat since it was big and messy. And there wasn't even room for it to go everywhere. The kumara chips were awesome!!! Good menu but pretty pricey! Those deals they have each day are good. Today was the fish and chips for $18, usually 26-28? I think

Nice pub had a really nice attentive waitress and the rest if the staff were nice. Food was OK just long wait time for food is all really.

Really great lunch specials, it was so much food we could barely finish it, and the special included a pint of a house beer, soft drink or a glass of wine. The burgers had a LOT in them. There were a lot of flavours in the Ferret burger which seemed a bit over the top, but the ingredients were good and the flavours were great.

The only good scrambled eggs ever found in Christchurch according to my Mrs. I also found my meal very tasty and generously sized. Seasoning was actually present. A rare thing to find in Chch, but so many places don't season or underseason their food. It's a real shame I won't be able to go again until the apartied is over. Well done to the owners. So this will be my last review for a quick minute.

Menu included lots of steak which is not my preference. I had Summer Salad which was tasty, just a bit too much lettuce! Popular place and parking was easy

Had a lovely evening meal at Fox and Ferret. Delicious food and very friendly staffs!! Highly recommended for those who want to have a relaxing and nice evening meal.

Good for a wee drink and bite to eat before a movie. Menu seems to be different everytime we go though!

Love my local Fox and Ferret. Staff last night were fantastic and level 2 guidelines followed impeccably. I always love the food too. Thank you to Gemma for getting us sorted!

Called in a reservation, table had been marked. We were seated pretty quickly. Ordered right after. Hubby got the fish and chips $26.50, not sure what market fresh fish it was, tasted like cod. It came out on top of a huge packet of fries, 4 pieces of fish. It was a beer tempura batter, not as dark as most beer batters. The fish was moist. The side salad has a vinegarette, a bit too much oil. I ordered the sirloin medium rare $33.00. It came out medium to medium well. Instead of garlic butter, I got creamy mushroom sauce. Did not really see our waitress after that, she was behind the bar when we entered and behind the bar when we left. So I just ate it as is. I ordered it with roasted potatoes and veggies. The veggies were a mix of sweet potatoes, carrots and parsnips. We were about done, debated about dessert but waitress never came back, so we decided we were finished. Went up to the counter and paid.

A nice atmosphere at the Fox and Ferret. They make generous meals and the place has a nice decor. Bar staff are friendly and prompt to ses you are sorted with whatever you may want to buy. This place is attached to the Palms so it's a great place to rest after shopping in the Mall. Car parking is normally ok as there is a large car parking building.

The service, layout of the dinning room and food was good and nicely presented. Husband happy with his steak and beer . I had vegetarian dumplings. Weren't bad but there are countless ways of making those in more interesting manner than just filled with frozen pack vegetables, hence 1 star less. We weren't waiting too long for the order. Overall good impression. I can recommend the place.

Great cocktails and great food! I had the stone grill with greek salad and onion rings which was great, while everyone else had burgers and enjoyed those too. Service was good as well. Only problem was with the onion rings. They weren't cooked for long enough and instead of crispy they were a bit soft.

Lovely bar and restaurant, has a great atmosphere to it and its definitely worth getting the hot stone as a treat !

My wife and I took a group of family and friends for lunch on 24th July 2021 to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The staff made us feel very welcome. The food and service was great. Thank you Kim for your wonderful table service.

Had an awesom time here on Saturday for a birthday party. We used the function room which was amazing, super warm and you can shut the noise off in the rest of the restaurant to just enjoy your own space. Plenty of room for kids to enjoy themselves and a lovely warm fire to keep warm. Our waiter Isra was just the absolute best. He went out of his way to make sure we were looked after. He even climbed the wall the help put decorations up. He was definitely the high light of of night along with great food and company. Will definitely recommend to all.

Fox n ferret palms, nice outdoor seating aera plenty of room inside not too cramped eating aeras, good lighting, pool room also upstairs seating. big projector n plenty of screens to watch the game ect, the foods great never had an issue, stonegrill, burgers, beers n much more. Go get some..

Go on a Thursday night. If you buy a big tray of meat for 10 or so dollars cheaper than it usually is they also give you a tower of beer for free. FREE BEER PEOPLE What a beautiful world we live in

Took my 76 year old mum there for her birthday last night.The young staff treated her like a queen, perfect friendly attentive service.drinks and food bought to the outside table,we didnt have to move .Just the way we like it.Also a bonus they had a quiz night happening. EXTRA unexpected entertainment. And the meat lovers platter $55 omg!!! Fed 3 of us and a wee box to take our leftovers home..Perfect night thank you All staff for making mums birthday great!!Mum had one too many vinos and nearly fell down the step lol What a fun night 😍😝

Fantastic atmosphere. Quiz night on Tuesday is always a hit. Thursday’s you can grab some great deals, we got a free usually $55 meat platter which was out of this world with our beer tower. The staff were all amazing too

Too loud ! Food was ok. Good service. But booth was so small for us. We aren't that big, & our men were squeezed into it so uncomfortable, staff should have seen that when we entered and changed tables as it was early and there were lots free. If you like to eat with lots of noise this is for you. Music was on Abit louder than I thought needed untill the gym above stated doing their thing. Loud bangs thumps etc.. so not somewhere we will be going again.

Our group of 12 ppl had a great meal as we always do at Fox n Ferrett. Prompt service too. We dined in what I call the"quiet room", as I had requested. This allowed the best conversation amongst ppl of mixed ages. Suggestion made that an extra vegetarian option be added to your menu.

Great service from the waitress, but out of the three meals we ordered one of our steak meals was cold, and the chicken dish was very very dry. It was very disappointing as we were there celebrating a birthday. Went home to have desert.

Nice atmosphere and love my dessert but my main meal could have been hotter. Had steak with garlic butter and the butter didn't even melt on my steak.

Thus place offers a great cozy environment, pleasantly presented, clean, with very friendly staff. Good men choices, good selection of win, spirits, beers, and non alcoholic beverages. Family friendly?, fantastic outdoor dining or drinking area, and prices are very reasonable and competitive. Having dined here a few times over ten last two years, I can honestly say their service quality is superb l, consistent, and predictable. Five stars from me.

I have been here three times and the meal has been good value and nicely prepared every time. The first two times were lunch with family and the service was great. A very attentive and good natured manager oversaw a good dining experience. The evening meal I and workmates just enjoyed was again a quality meal all round. No complaints about the food. The service though left something to be desired. A nice young woman first took a round of drink orders and delivered those. The mains were there about 40 minutes after we ordered. No problems. And then it was basic clearing service and another waitress glancing in the room once or twice. We had the impression that the wait staff were ready to see us on our way once we had finished our mains. It wasn't 9.00 p.m. yet and no dessert, coffee or tea was offered. An otherwise nice evening fell a bit flat on the catering front at the end. There were several people in our party that would have checked dessert out and most of us would ordered a hot drink. Still, it's hopefully a bit more positive on the service front most nights. The management might also like to look at 'stoking' the gas fire up a bit. The room was just a bit cool and I don't think I was the only one noticing a draught

Great room to ourselves. Had our own server to get drinks which worked ok. Platters were a good variety but the last one (of 4) was overheated and almost burnt which was disappointing.

Very friendly, called to say we were running late for our reservation due to car troubles (on a friday night) and it wasn't a problem, even a joke so I knew it wasn't forced, so very easy going. Lovely, lively atmosphere, the choice of food suited everyone, nothing was a problem, very attentive. Didn't spend time looking around to order another drink even though they were very busy. The food was also delicious. Excellent all round, will definitely be coming back.

Fantastic meals excellent staff reasonable price

The staff were super friendly, both the bar tender and the waitress. Unfortunately the food was so average that I only ate a small amount of it and took the rest in a doggie bag home, but threw it in the bin cos it was so ho hum. The chef had attempted to create a modern point of difference with the fish n chips of the day, by placing the fries inside a wrapped purposely printed white waxy newsprint. This was placed under the fish. Most bizarre....how was I supposed to eat my fish without removing the entire package of chips? The parcel was such an awkward large square shape, that I had nowhere to place them apart from on the table beside my plate. It was difficult eating my fries from inside tje wrapping and the chips weren't crisp or crunchy. They were soft and floury. Maybe the wrapping contributed to that? The fish was Warehou which I've never tried before and will never eat again after this experience. A dry, thick fillet with not much moisture or flavour. Worst fish I've eaten in fish n chips. Should have gone to Sumner and had fresh fish from the Fish and Shop there. Wayyyy nicer and melt in your mouth fish. When I asked the waitress for some tomato sauce for my chips, I told her that the wrapped chips was awkward and I couldn't eat my fish unless I removed it from the plate. She seemed ambivalent to my feedback and backed the chef's decision as it had nothing to do with her she said. Will not go back apart from drinks.

Delicious roast vege salad with chicken, gluten free, plenty of food. Sticky date pudding very tasty. Waitress was friendly and a little rushed. Sat outside on a table with 6 others, got a little loud with a lot of people on the high tables. Pleasant night.

Absolutely amazing. The food came far faster than expected, and I had the teriyaki chicken skewers. Tasted very nice. The waitresses are lovely people. I would suggest going here I just love it

Surf and turf is a good go to. Watched my sisters boyf order a whole hog of ribs... Would not recommend unless sharing with 3 people.

Was busy when we went nice food

Went here with a friend for lunch a week ago and found the service was great,friendly and obliging staff but the food was pretty average and a bit of a let down for what I paid.Had a vegetarian haloumi salad that consisted of a plate full of bagged mixed lettuce leaves with very few other ingredients it seemed to be more lettuce than anything else and while I could not have the kumera crisps because of not being cooked in a separate fryer I was not offered an alternative so that was disappointing.I certainly did not get value for money from here.

Came here on a grab one, they were very flexible with the booking time and the face we used 2 vouchers between 4 people. We all ordered stone grills which came with exceptional spped and quality, not to mention hot. Portion for price was very acceptable, nothing went to waste and we left very full. Was impressed with the selection of sides available with the stone grills and picking non veg options didn't mean smaller portions, we has a range of meats between us, salmon, beef and chicken, all of which were perfectly prepared for our grilling satisfaction. We will certainly be vising again soon.

This was the first time that we have had a Stonegrill and we were a bit hesitant about having to cook our own meat. But, it is really easy and the food is delicious. My favorite is the lamb. This restaurant has great daily deals. You may want to make a booking in advance.

It essentially like a British Pub in looks and atmosphere, which serves food indoors and out. A great place to meet have a nibble and a drink with friends after work. I like going there on the weekends. On a lovely day, outside sizzling food on a stone grill with a cold Shandy. Brilliant.

Had a surprise dinner on a Monday with my partner and friends....couldn't have asked for better service and food! Every plate was hot and appetizing, and superb value!!!

Very good place, cozy and well located at the palm's mall. Burgers are very tasty with great presentation. The only minor "issue" is when the place is crowded. Waiting times can be longer than expected, but overall It is a perfect place to go with friends and/or family. Highly recommended.

Meals were beautiful but far too big in portion sizes . This spoilt our over all experience. Too much food is not always what people want. My son in law has never had too much food before. He is a good eater. The service was lovely and staff very helpful. Please consider Portion sizes for everyone's health and well being.

The TFC burger is the best burger I have ever had. Everytime I'm in Christchurch I make sure to go here for a meal.

We walked in off street the guy approached us quickly told us about kids menu and showed the colouring and activity sheet. We got given a seat then didn't see our waiter for another 15 minutes another one ended up taking our order and took away the kids menu with colouring which they never got to colour as werent given pencils. But food was fine good size meal. Just service was downfall and I believe it's not all of them just the one guy who forgot.

It's hard to beat the atmosphere here on a Saturday night. The food is pretty decent too.

Went for brunch today celebrate my sons 18th birthday. The service was outstanding, warm and friendly, i had the English breakfast and everything was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend

Undercooked sides (had stone grill) but the fries should not be cooked on the stone right. Shrimps not cleaned and the vegetarian dish had no thought put into it at all. Still a good deal 2 for 1 and friendly service.

Wednesday special which was not bad value. Cook it yourself on hot stone. I had caesar salad side which was tasty, with surf n turf ... steak, 2 prawn kebabs... , n fries. Wife had coleslaw which was too salty, with lamb n fries. Service fast and friendly enough. They listened to feedback and seemed concerned that all wasnt perfect. It was pretty busy. Quite noisy so avoid if you seek a quiet meal. Overall not too bad but not outstanding.

Music was so load the waitress couldn't hear my order. The dining area was so dark we had to get our phone torches out to read the menu. The food was good however and reasonably priced

Bit noisy but have to expect that of a pub. We had a meal which was great, only downside was there time taken to pay for it. I was standing at the bar for 5 mins before I could get the attention of the staff to pay. Overall excellent experience

Always a good place for a meal or just to relax with a drink. Last night we had the stone grills 2 for the price of 1. But you have to book as they are very popular and you don't want to miss out.

we had a work farewell dinner last Saturday night. a lot of our group was late, but the waiter was wonderful, cheerful and very helpful. The meals were lovely. I had the soup and the new york cheesecake. Delicious. a fun night

The medium rare steak was superb, the mushroom sauce devine. The salad was crisp and the Merlot at a perfect temperature. But most importantly the service was not only efficient, but also warm and welcoming. All in all a lovely evening.

On the 8th off March my wife and I went to the Fox for our wedding anniversary, I booked a table for 1915 and said we were going to the movies at 2000 so the fella on the phone said he will put a note on our booking. We get there 3 minutes late lol but the staff are great and we made it to the movie on time.

Awesome setting, fantastic staff, really really good food, too much to eat in one sitting.

Good honest pub food, decent beer selection including Panhead on tap, very helpful staff, and specials and meals of the day if you're want to spend more on drink than food.

My partner and I come here for date nights & i highly recommend! Lovely customer service and the food is yummy!

Staff is super friendly and food is amazing, they have some good deals for each of a week day like 25$ burger and beer on Saturday or two for one stone grill on Sunday just be aware that you better book the Sunday one because they have limited amount of stones, good selection of beers too and if you are lucky enough you can sit by the fireplace which is really nice in winter

Nice staff, Food was good too. 3 of us had stake, cooked just how they where asked for. Was there on a Monday, not very busy
