B.Excellent location, clean and tidy rooms & amenities. Amazing customer service. Very pleased to visit the Garden Hotel Christchurch. I will go there again for sure.
D.Great options for any guest numbers with rooms ranging in size. Everything you'd expect from a Christchurch motel in this price range but Garden claims an extra star for the buffet on offer. My challenge to you, find a better buffet in Christchurch for price/quality.

T.Quite nice, we were there with a few people and it's quite a handee location. Shops pubs, and restaurants all close by. Tidy rooms, and comfortable beds.

J.Rooms were clean-ish. We had 2 single and one double bed for two people, seems a bit wasteful. The advertised "breakfast" from booking.com was not available. 1GB Limited wifi seems a bit stingy, we are in 2021!
Do yourself a favour and get a room Upgrade, the bathroom and kitchen in our room were very dated and industrial-looking. Heat pump was working, no nice view from our rooms (skip-bins) and noise in the evening from renovations

A safe and welcoming place apart from some customers, who should show respect to the place and should be blacklisted.
It's a great place to take a large group of people for any occasion.
Just one thing they should do there is add a bit more flavouring to their food nothing major. Its an excellent place to go for dinner. Being my first time there, I had a great time.

V.We stayed in the 2-bedroom unit. So spacious and well-equipped. The lounge is spacious and so are the bedrooms. The unit was nice and clean when we checked-in. I appreciate having one extra bin for recyclables. That's good.
Big enough dining table for our family.
Location is quiet and peaceful, yet very handy to some shops just outside that sell food.
Just down the road is The Palms shopping mall.
Hotel staff are friendly and polite. Housekeeping staff also did a great job.

R.This has always been a must for I love food. My Nieces Birthday and my Great Niece paid for it. 4 adults and one infant. We had a waiter look after us due to covid from food to drink. Of cause drinks from bar are extra and bookings are a must for some events for example Mothers day, Fathers Day, Queen's Birthday etc. Food is cooked beautifully only complaint is the roast veg come in bite size like something I would expect as a side dish to nipple using a savery fork or tooth pick.
L.We went for lunch today and have to say I really enjoyed my three plates of different food topped off with yummy dessert. Had a chuckle when we both went to get dessert and our table had been whisked away. So make sure one person holds the table. They are extra fast clearing dirty plates as well. Good friendly service and worth it for a good feed. Found it a little easier when we got earlier lunch time as got really busy after 12 but this was Sunday.

R.We stumbled across Garden Hotel by chance during our visit to Christchurch in 2020. We returned to Garden Hotel in 2021 and will continue going back each time we visit Christchurch. Spacious, clean, handy location and great staff. You simply cannot go wrong with Garden Hotel. Definitely recommended.

L.One of the very few available buffet restaurant in the city. Pricing is actually quite generous given how expensive things are getting. Food is up to a certain standard, not at all the best in town, but well cooked, at least an average.
Food diversity can be a bit better than just Chinese and roasts.
Place is clean and tidy and service is on point. This is where I will give major points. You don't get a modern vibe or well decorated space, but spacious and tidy place to eat.
My kids just love this place, with the ice cream machine alone. Great for odd family occasions to have no worries in selecting food and get a reasonable quality feed.
T.An excellent restaurant overall with just about all the assorted dishes one can gorge themselves with. My daughter visiting from Auckland reckons this restaurant is the best she has been to for a very long time. And the selection of desserts are 10/10! Excellent venue for my son's 21st birthday luncheon party! Good job Garden Restaurant!

I.Nice atmosphere and a good selection of dishes in the buffet.
Bit of a squeeze in the dining area as the tables were very close together making it hard to move from the buffet to your seat to eat. Otherwise very nice.
R.Food was yummy and pudding even better. For the price isn’t bad considering you can have as much as you like and when I look at paying up to $20 for one meal at other venues then I think $35 is a bargain for up to 6 servings of soup/bread/croutons, seafoods, entree, mains and pudding and coffee/snacks, I eat whole foods and find there is plenty of different healthy options at the buffet. The staff are lovely and they clear the tables regularly. We have iced water available instead of buying drinks as they are expensive but that suits us. Lovely set up and we can hear each other talk so not to loud at all. Busy place so we arrive 15 minutes early and always book a week or two ahead to guarantee a table. We got told that this place is better than other buffets in ChCh as there is more variety of foods. When people criticise this place we can’t understand why as we love it and can not fault it, great family venue and go every year for special occasions.
H.Nice buffet on offer, lots of Chinese dishes but had good old roast on offer too. The desert table was well stocked. The staff were friendly and attentive with our plates being cleared quickly throughout our meal.
J.Had Lunch today, The food wasnt top quality but certainly eatable, the pumkin looked like last nights and food very bland, the customer service not top notch either, when thanked the staff collecting our dishes they were very timid. staff on the counter were having a debate when we were leaving. not worth $53.00 for two adults, however glad we went, so we know to try somewhere else for lunch. do not highly recommend.
K.Went for Birthday Party, I can highly recommended great choices of all you can eat, both hot and cold, pork beef chicken and fish and other seafood. Great place for family or those special occasions. All foods were well cooked and presented. Staff came round regularly to remove used plates and cutlery from the tables. Value for money
T.Considering I am currently following a plant based diet and dairy free I was still able to eat plenty and the vegetables were very yummy. With fresh fruit and Jelly for dessert the meal was complete.
S.Yummy food, heaps of choices. One of the best buffets I've been to, staff were super nice and helpful. Has a few vegetarian options and a large selection of meat and seafood. They even have an ice cream machine so great for the kids
C.A buffet restaurant that offers a wide selection of dishes and desserts. Grandkids love the fish and chips and of course the sweets. Liked most of the food I tried but it can be too filling. There was a big crowd last Sat night so it was noisy with lots of shouting and screaming kids. Fun fun fun!

K.We stayed in an Economy room, and it was very decent considering the price. On the outside the room looks tired, but the interior has been refurbished. Heating was good - air con in the room, heater in the shower and electric blankets. The room sleeps 4, so cheap for a family or group.
Has a good restaurant with buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner at very reasonable prices. It costs more to eat ala carte at restaurants.
The kitchen is fine for light cooking, tea and coffee, but not updated. Great, inexpensive laundry facilities. Walkable to the Palms shopping centre.
b.Excellent buffet. Good assortment of food. Only gripe is price has increased significantly over the years but still worth a visit if you have a huge appetite

P.The food is decent. The staff are great help and regularly check on you and offer refreshments. A bit pricy but still all you can eat so if you usually spent $30 at a restaurant then it's well worth the price. At dinner time I think there was 20 various food to choose from which includes Asian foods. Overall I would give 7/10
L.We ate at the buffet restaurant. Not cheap at $35.50 per adult. Great variety including Asian, Western, roast, salads, seafood, desserts, etc. Food quality was mostly pretty good and well labeled for most allergies. The service was excellent.
A.The reception girls were really switched on and most helpful. Their rooms were spacious and very clean with a sweet fragrance throughout. I will be back on my next visit to ChCh. I did not frequent the Restaurant.

A.We went to the restaurant and really enjoyed the buffet meal. There is a fairly wide range of foods from Macaroni Cheese, roasts, salads to soup, fried items and desserts. Those who are vegetarian or gluten free will find things to eat here as well. Very reasonably priced
K.Just dropped in on our trip to Christchurch with friends. The service was quick and the staff helpful. A good selection of food and drinks available even though it was late in the day. A good rest stop for weary travelers. Well done.

D.Place was draughty and cold and food was a bit over cooked unfortunately especially the red meat dishes..expected better. Plus empty platters not replaced promptly including desserts.
S.We came from Australia in urgent need of accomodation & Hannah at the front desk was so fantastic. She was warm, professional & just wonderful. The room was perfect & Hannah took the time to make sure we were comfortable. I would highly recommend this place for anyone to stay. If more young ladies were like Hannah, the world would be a much better place.
p.We go to the Garden Hotel buffet alot and its always really good, and of high standard.Also the cafe is also good value with great food.Much better now the city is in Level 1, and the buffet is up and running.
S.Reasonably priced, massive room and bathroom, the bed was really comfortable and they provided a huge selection of teas. The staff were helpful and friendly, check in and out was seamless. It's just down the road from a shopping centre with a reading cinema, 2mins drive so good for something do if your just stopping over for the night.
J.Good clean room with all facilities, rooms probably getting in need of some TLC but perfectly acceptable for the price, and meal at the restaurant very nice. Was a bit concerned as had read some poor reviews for the restaurant, but the food was good, hot and plenty of variety and regularly replenished. Only issue was someone had left the lid off the soup, but that was a guest, not the restaurants fault, and the service was great.
J.Pretty standard inside, but the food was nice and quiet a good variety too. Well worth $35 you can easily eat your moneys worth here, and it gets pretty busy. I will be going again
A.Had a very nice meal at the restaurant on Saturday the 18th Nov 2017 . Everything was cooked to perfection. Couldn't fault the food at all. Had only two plates mainly meat and pasta
On getting dessert at end of meal. Was dismayed with the hot dessert plates. Jelly had turned to water as had the ice cream turned milk didn't accompany the lovely sticky date pudding very well.
Dessert plates need to be put in a cooler of some sort

T.BEST FRIED CHICKEN
The quality of other food was good but GOD damn I kid you not the chicken nibbles were the best thing I've ever tasted I had two full plates before I discovered them and I went on to eat a plateful of JUST THE NIBBLES (with some soft serve). I highly recommend coming here just for the chicken. I'm blown away.
r.They have a good selection of meals especially Chinese. Soups are nice The roast selection, salads and other food was good. Dessert was good but the cutley, plates and bowls etc were abit basic. Staff very friendly.
B.Food was pretty good and drinks reasonably priced. Staff were attentive and constantly busy restocking food and clearing tables. Restaurant was oversold resulting in ridiculous lines for most of the time we were there. If this hadn't occurred I would have given 4 stars easily.
m.Garden Restaurant is awesome great food as well as great staff and a relaxed atmosphere , value for money me and my mum go there every weekend , and its an enjoyable experience the food though amazing great selection from Chinese food and your roasts Beef and pork to seafood salmon prawns mussels salads and the deserts are to die for sticky date pudding yummy . Yes I would rate this buffet all you can eat restaurant is well worth it amazing staff and settings a truly dinning experience service with a smile looking forward to going there this weekend .
P.The GBC (cafe) is one of my favourite places to catch up with friends for a drink and something to eat. Lovely fresh food and wonderful friendly service from the staff.
B.We went here for Mums 79th bday.
Last time we came it was a weekend and a special Asian food week. This time not as much variety but darn tasty food.
Was little disappointed at table clearing between servings, it wasn't that busy that it couldn't have happened quicker but as I have worked in all types of restaurants in the past I am finicky about this sort of thing. Especially handing a glass with fingers at the top where I am going to drink from. That one gets me every time.
Otherwise...good food.
l.Have always enjoyed the selection of food but gets a bit depressing as there doesn't seem to be any dress code or rules for parents to make their kids behave in public and not yell and run around. Lunch time is cheaper and quieter

w.Yummy food ...arrived early 540pm and the food was OMG good, it can be very busy at times with lines of people waiting in cue but this doesn't last long. We went to the Redwood last week and we're disappointed. Redwood great service weird tasting food.. The garden restaurant no service, serve yourself yummy food!!!
L.I dined with family for a birthday and found the quality of the food has downgraded since last time I dined there, which had been a 21st,i found some of the dishes dry, and the sweet and sour was 99 per cent Pineapple and very small pieces of pork... Will maybe try a new place next time, as this was our local buffet, maybe not anymore.. Also there were no lettuce salads, which I love, too many fatty foods... Hope the Management read this and do better....!

r.It was ok but I be careful what you what eat as I know someone who used to work their and they said stuff that drops on the floor they put it back in pan to cook and they dont wash their hands or and they cough into the food they are making too so be careful eveyone
