Great place to have a drink and a meal and bring the family on a Sunday

First thing I noticed when I opened the door to our room was how clean it was. The shower floor was shiny as well as the kitchen sink, the room smelt like a new car. Also, it was really warm and I appreciated the beds had more than just the duvet throw on the bed as it was a chilly night. Ordered dinner from the tavern next door, lovely fresh meals & deserts....really enjoyed the prawn cocktail! Next time we’re down south we’ll definitely be stopping here again!

Nice rooms, great staff but would benefit from double glazing on the rooms that face the main road.

Friendly staff and good meals. Only disappointment was, the menu stated pavlova which IT WAS NOT. It was 3 meringues stacked on top of each other with a flavoring and cream. Pavlova is a high slice of crunchy on outside melt in your mouth soft inner at least 7cm high, with whipped cream and fruit toppings eg strawberries or kiwifruit. Would not order again without checking what it is ANYWHERE! Wish I had just stuck with an ice-cream sundae, as my dessert was horribly sickly. Also my menu (had steak) I was asked chips and salad or veges. I chose chips and salad, only got chips in the end.

Golden Mile Tavern what a great place to hold a function. The catering was amazing, plenty of room to socialise and dance. The staff are amazing and bend over backwards to ensure that everything goes off without a hitch. Thank you Murray and your team for a great night.

This tavern is a vibe and I am here for it! Friendliest staff, cool atmosphere, food is amazing with huge portions (I ain't complaining), the motel part has everything you need and the bed is pretty comfy. The perfect place to recharge, especially for truckies with the ample parking to boot.

Popped in for a meal. Fantastic service and food. $10 for bacon, eggs, hash browns, toast and sausage.

This is my new favorite restaurant. We started with the garlic bread, which was so soft and doughy. The apricot chicken snitzel was lovely and my friend ordered the steak which was perfect. We topped it off with sticky date pudding.. yum! Very reasonable cost wise. Can't wait to go again.

The best breakfast I have had in a very long time. Eggs cooked perfect, smoky bacon, hash browns, fresh bread, very tasty sausage. With two delicious sauces on the side. All for $10.00

We stay at this motel whenever we need a place near Christchurch. The manager is great and they are happy for us to bring our old dog. Great night rates. Good units. Thanks

Because I live in the area I often pop over to the pub for a meal & what a meal it generally is. Plenty of variety to choose from & the meals are big enough & very tasty. Puddings both for kids & adults are seriously good, i personally enjoy a chocolate sunday.

Good venue for our music nights. Staff are really helpful. Dated decor though

What a lovely place we went for lunch with some older family menbers the meals were delicious. And the best part was there were only 10.00 dollar meals excellent value for that price . Thanks for a great lunch. We will be back.....

Good basic motel, everything you need spotlessly clean. Like the separate kitchen. Handy having the tavern through the fence for meals. We will be back.

Suited us for overnight. Good location south of the city. Friendly checkin. Good shower. Clean and tidy but a bit noisy if your not used to traffic and train. Worst thing was Overpowering reodouriser used in room. Gag!

My Partner and I have had the pleasure of staying at the value for your money Golden Mile Motel & Tavern.We found the management and staff to be very friendly and welcoming.The accommodation is a series of well maintained nicely presented units.The Golden Mile Tavern adjacent the motel catered well to our food and entertainment needs, the restaurant itself is a bit of a hidden gem and shining star when it comes to receiving good service and mouth- watering food with very gorgeous portions ...Well recommended.

The website describes itself as budget accommodation but I have stayed in a lot more expensive motels which are not a patch on this place, friendly host and staff at the tavern ..... and the best bit the meals are awesome!
