Reviews of Harbar Beachbar & Kitchen
C.
Great location and good food and drink. Only there for a drink and bar snack but all was really good. Busy at key times so try to book!
S.
I love this place. Always a positive buzz, good selection of food, drinks and a couple of alc-free beers. And the view!!!!

Staff are absolutely lovely. As is the view and the menu. I think the reviews from New Years Day are taken totally out of context from some rather disgruntled customers. The hospitality industry is on its knees, staff are harder to find than the holy grail and I think that should be appreciated before posting negative reviews.
Absolutely loved the beach bar tunes overlooking the ocean whilst sipping a refreshing three boys beer.
Highly recommended.
Big shout out to the English bar manager. Knows what he's doing.

Harbar is an awesome wee place, best views from a bar/ restaurant in Akaroa.
I know they are currently facing staff shortages but when my husband and I go there (which is alot) we are always greeted with friendly down to earth staff, food is always of high quality, and the service top notch.
Cheers guys

Awesome view and very relaxing bar and the bar staff now there job

Waves lap at your feet while you enjoy a pizza and drink. Cooler weather comes in and they drop the plastic blinds to keep it out while you continue watching the seascape. One of my favourite Akaroa cafés.

Sat at one of the windows outlooking the akaroa harbour while the sun set. Had 3 boys beer and great pizza. The staff were friendly and great atmosphere. Great little place for romantic date
M.
Excellent sunset spot for a drink! The food was delicious, but we waited for about an hour for pizzas on a Friday night. Would rather go here for a drink than dinner because of the long wait.
C.
This is a very popular place and I think it is the best place to see the sunset in Akaroa. You will need to book as everytime I walked past it was full. Had a lovely glass of wine and yummy pizza.

Food was nice once it arrived. The waitress was very nice but having worked in restaurants for years you need more staff an I had to wait 15mins for my drink which than did not arrive after checking where it was myself.
C.
Beautiful bar with stunning view , great beverage list , good options for a quick bite. Loved it there

Fish Tacos were yummy, great location on the water. Was pretty hot when we were there in late Jan. Service was good kids had pizza which was pretty good. I had two tacos but could have eaten 3. Good drinks list

Great views and food, staff were lovely. Fills out fast so book ahead!

What an amazing find! Lured by the gorgeous live music, we enjoyed coffee and kebabs. A great location on the waters edge. A small venue but so worth a visit!!
C.
Awesome place, enjoyed the wine and dine. Felt like as if I was on a cruise.

Great place to eat and drink with a beautiful view on the bay. It's simply a gem. Don't miss it if you're in Akaroa. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and there's a good selection of wine and drinks!

Excellent spot to have a beer or 2 as close as you can get to the water in safety, especially in the late afternoon, although it can get a bit hot if the sun is out. Visited by many tourists, with a strong french presence. We ordered a pint and were given an alternative glass since they had run out. When it turned out the capacity was slightly inferior we were given another to make up for it. That is what I call customer service at its best!

Romantic place right next to the shore with gorgeous view to the bay of Akaroa. There's also a nice and open fireplace to warm up and the s is super-friendly. They also cook Goulash and even turmeric latte! Highly recommended!

The best fish & chips ever, anywhere in the world ever. Unbelievable. Enough said!
Oh, and amazing beer from three boys on tap.
B.
Right on the water- the perfect place for a wine. This place must've sold because all of the times I had been here before I was disappointed. We decided to give it a go and I'm so glad we did. The perfect spot for a drink and a bite to eat. Drinks menu is great and really reasonable. Food is delicious and love the rustic brown paper styling. Will definitely come back and glad to have it on our YES list now because the setting is phenomenal.

Excellent food, staff and amazing view while you enjoy your food. I recommend the salmon pizza.

Great spot for dinner and breakfast. The view is amazing as it is right on the waterfront, the staff are so friendly, and the food was delicious. Definitely worth coming for breakfast for their bagels. Their menu is also fairly inexpensive relative to other nearby places.
