Really great place to hang out with friends over some good food and alcohol. The place has a nice vibe. And the food is great. The portion size is reasonable too. Disappointed with buffalo chicken wings though. Doesnt taste anything like it.

Great food which came out very quickly despite the dinner rush, great service and great beer. We had the curly fries, lamb pizza and chicken burger. 10/10!

Thank you Troy and to the amazing team. We were looking for a place to eat and he and his team were kind enough to let us in ! We went to Twizel around 2.40pm looking for a place to eat after our hike in Mt Cook I enjoyed the juicy vegetarian burger (+ it's reasonably priced) . My mates did enjoy their burgers and the chicken wings Overall 5/5. I would recommend that if you are in the area to check out this amazing place!

Called in the afternoon of the dinner to make a reservation for a rather big group, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating! For a few of us, we ordered the loaded fries, pepperoni pizza, beef burger, and buffalo wings. First off, the loaded fries were AMAZING. The beef burger was considered medium rare, probably a tad rarer than I expected. The pepperoni pizza was nothing exceptional but definitely good to have. The buffalo wings were not even spicy to begin with, which was disappointing. This is a place I'd come back again for sure as they have a tantalising menu.

Really great vegetarian burger! The almond and pistachio falafel patty was so tasty and the beetroot relish and whipped tahini made it saucy and not dry. I feel veggie burgers are usually the same wherever I go but this one was creative and tasty!

We came here after reading a sea of fairly poor reviews for other places in Twizel, seems like either Twizel gets some tough reviewers or the standard of food ain’t great. However we had a good experience here, chicken burger was great, beef burger was great. Kids meals ok. Friendly service, and speedy despite it being a busy Friday night. Definitely worth a look if you’re in town.

The service from the time Mum rang up to book was incredible. We were greeted when we arrived by the whole team and got to sit where we wanted to. Our main server for the night had an extremely outgoing nature and an incredible ability to meet all our requests. At one point Mum and Dad said "he just never stops ... he is an extremely hard worker." He checked in on us more than once to make sure we were okay, and the timing could never be better with each check in as it was when we were about ready to order the next thing. The food was top notch - none of us could fault it in any way. My 8 year old niece kept exclaiming "this is amazing." Mum and Dad had the lamb rump - they are still raving about it and everything that was on the plate. The kids loved their food - one shared with their Mum (the 8 year old) and the 6 year old thought his kids meal was epic. They always love the kids menu with the games and colouring in on it. And the desserts - always a fav - so good!!! Especially the apple won tons!! MoW has always been a favourite with this family but after last night it has gone even higher in the ratings - pretty hard to go above 1 but it will now take a huge effort on another place to get to that position. Overall a fantastic evening out where the service was equal to the amazing food and beverage.

Super good food and drinks! Went for dinner twice in a row while visiting Twizel. Have a great entrees and dinner menu. Cozy and easy going atmosphere.

Really good simple food. Burger was cooked to perfection, nice and moist. Butter chicken was very flavourful with just the right amount of heat.

LOVED DINNER HERE My wife got the steak and I got the house made curry. Both were delicious! The beer was great and also came with a friendly recommendation and some tastings.

I was just passing through Twizel on my way to Wanaka and wanted to find some food. Vegan food can be hit or miss, and in a small rural town it’s usually more of a miss. I was so pleasantly surprised by this place though! They had nothing vegan on the menu, but a couple things that seemed like good options if they were willing to modify it for me. I told them what I was looking for and they mentioned they had vegan cheese and could make the veggie quesadilla vegan! Loaded with beans, onions, zucchini, artichoke, tomatoes, jalapeños and vegan cheese, served with guacamole and corn salsa. They were very accommodating, and the food came out incredibly fast and was delicious. Quite a large portion as well. I will definitely return next time I pass through Twizel.

Anna is really great, cheer full and inviting. She was the main reason I decided to stay! Otherwise cery nice looking place and really love the fairy lights! :)

Some good bar food. The pizzas are extremely filling and the burgers looked good too. Check out some of their locally craft beers. I tried a raspberry berry that was made of 50% raspberry concentrate and 50%...very interesting and I would have had two. Overall nice place

Excellent! We hadn't made a booking but luckily got seated straight away. Staff were very friendly. We ordered the Buffalo cauliflower bites and they were absolutely delicious!!!! The beef burger my partner really enjoyed and said it was great. The vege pizza too was great ! Would definitely recommend for both vegetarians and meat eaters :)

We ate here twice during our holiday inTwizel and we were impressed both times. The food is fantastic. The first time we had pizza and the second time we had burgers; each time with a Salt & Pepper Squid starter. Very nice! The service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere relaxing. Would definitely recommend.

We went for a meal on a very busy Easter Sunday. The staff were very busy but friendly and efficient The food was very good. The portions plentiful and oh so tasty. Very good pub food. Nice range of craft beers.

We liked the outdoor setting and the range of craft beers. Food was the best thing ever. I likes the big old photo of the origins of Twizel. Andreas and the other staff members gave us great service. Our 8 year old liked having the playground infront. Keep up the good work.

Great customer service here...the steak was cooked great but the beef burger wasn't edible for the kids or me when I tried it, as their own made sauce was disgusting it ruined the whole thing. There was also no sauce options for the steak meal only the one it came with which was horrible too bit disappointing really. I think simple things like mushroom sauce,garlic butter or peppercorn sauce would make the meals a little nicer.

Got to dinner pretty late in Twizel, and this was the only spot open. We were pleasantly surprised that the pizza was very good and we had some great local beer too! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for late night eats in Twizel

Had a great weekend in Twizel eating (and drinking) but really a highlight was my meal on Saturday evening. I chose the lamb and boy did I choose well! It was delicious. Thank you

Steak tasted good but portion size was lacking for the price. The side of chips were also good but the serving size made the steak and chips more of a light meal than a dinner. Was stil hungry afterwards so enquired about desert but there was only 2 options, both of which weren't really appealing to us. Pretty good service though which is the reason for 3 stars not 2.

Great service. Good food. I had pork belly and Mum had the fish. I wish I had ordered 2 pork it was so good. 9/10 for the pork. Mum couldn't eat her fish as it was dry and very fishy. Definitely not a do again.

Best steak ive had in a long time..was so good i asked the Chef about the red wine sauce..he didnt give away any secrets...but you gotta try it!!.chicken burger was a hit too with our group

The food is great. Pizza was to die for. Steak dish was cooked as we asked. I just wish i had more time to try more of their dishes. The menu was a mix of mains, smaller dishes or pizza, so it works for everyone. Pays to book in advance. We were here in (what i thought) would be a quiet time, not in this place. People in and out all the time. Well done team. Keep up the good work.

The food was great! Had tacos and pizza. The waitress was a bit rude and was not happy about having to clean our table from where some previous people had been sitting there. Had to clean the food off the seat myself.

Absolutely loved this place enough to eat here both nights we were in the area. Their chicken, cranberry, and brie pizza is SO good. Great beer and wine list as well, and the bartender made me a really great espresso martini too. The outdoor seating is great weather permitting. Don't miss this place when you're in town!

I am little bit disappointed that there no more chicken burger which used to be my favourite there, but MAN that butter chicken is nice. I've had that butter chicken three times in a row now and I would still go and have that again. I highly recommend to go there and try their butter chicken. Really nice craft beers and great environment and friendly staffs. Great place to enjoy your meal and drinks.

This restaurant offered a good variety of food and drinks. We ordered chicken quesadilla and fish tacos both delicious and filling! Live music on a Saturday night was a fun touch. Excellent location in Twizel.

Outstanding beer and great customer service! My food order was interpreted wrong so it came out not to my liking. No issues at all. I was offered another plate or a full refund! We would come back again. Thanks for the great service!

Looked like the best place in Twizel to stop into - wasn’t disappointed! We had the Polenta chips and a Pizza to share and it was more than enough food! Really good pizza, base was awesome! Good selection of drinks on tap + decor was pretty cool - looks better on the inside than out!

Really nice place in Twizel! It’s in a cute shopping center. The staff is very friendly. I had the fish and chips which was amazing and fresh and loved the salad it came with too! Prices were good for NZ. Highly recommend!

Great place to eat. Prices were high. But good enough for the area. Service was slow and it took them way too long to bring out the food. But they apologized and took 10%off our bill to compensate.

Best pub style food in Twizel, everything we had was delicious, pizzas are huge and have great flavour and the teriyaki pork belly bites are tender and sweet. I'd recommend booking if in a larger group or if it's a busy weekend, luckily they were able to accommodate 9 of us after an hour wait. Have tried other places and would highly reccomend this one for a good feed and good beer!

Everything was great, I'd even make a trip back into Twizel for the loaded curly fries alone.

Great interior and has a nice feel to it. Unfortunately the staff wasn't quite up to snuff. We weren't properly seated and water bottle wasn't provided even though they recognised it and said they a going to bring one. Burger was huge and had a good taste. Bun was a bit to big in comparison to the meat.

Fast and friendly service and a very enjoyable steak meal

The service was terrible from a blonde waitress. The Italian waitress was trying really hard but the blonde waitress didn’t have help her much. We were served after people who had come 20 minutes after us were served first. We heard the bell ring and she took them their food first and then she got ours. We saw several other people receive their for food before ours. We found that the food was really good. It’s too bad that we had such a negative experience with the waitress. Loved coming for a pint at this place after work once in a while. Tuesday nights are burger and a beer for $20. Hard to beat that price anywhere else in Twizel! Great beer selection from all over New Zealand. Friendly staff and always made me feel welcome.

We found this little resteraunt/bar after a long day of hiking, and could not have been more satisfied with our choice. The atmosphere is relaxed, with great lighting, and the food divine. I opted for the vegan burger, which came with a delicious beetroot relish and tahini sauce that left my plate empty in minutes. My partner opted for the fish and chips, which came with a fresh and zingy salad, cooked perfectly. We couldn't recommend this place more, five stars!!

Pleasantly surprised after visiting the sister site (Shawtys) with pretty average food and little customer service, Ministry of Works is the polar opposite. Food is gastro pub with quality ingredients, and good drinks selection. Great service and good prices this the best place for dinner and drinks in the Mackenzie.

Great atmosphere but not as friendly staff as felt in the way with the kids, even though they were well behaved and there were plenty of kids there, we got the vibe kids were not so welcome. Could offer colouring or something more than just kids menu? Chicken wings were amazing though!

If you're in twizel with kids go here and sit outside, drink beer and eat loaded fries, you can generally see your kids on the playground and after all it's twizel, no one's going to pinch your kids. I hold no responsibility should your child be abducted and you have taken my advice but my thoughts are with you, never give up hope.

Something wrong with the order system during our visit, thus our orders weren't sent to the kitchen. Staff was very apologetic and head to the kitchen to sort the problem out. They offered us a drink on the house for the error. Food is not too bad and price is fair enough for the location being a tourist town.

Disappointed with my take away, Pizza was okay, but the Greek Salad had no olives or feta, and had a vinaigrette dressing - 1st world problem I know but not what I thought I'd ordered.
