The place to get cocktails from in Christchurch. Very classy bar not far from New Regent street, always has a cosy atmosphere here even on the cold nights when sitting outside. It has a great range of drinks from classics, signature cocktails to spirits and good quality wine. Staff are awesome, always looking very dapper and happy to help out. We had a slight issue with the food however it was rectified soon enough and the item was kindly taken off the bill for us. Great place to go.

One of the few places where service and atmosphere still matters and the whole experience is considered…Easily one of the best bars in Christchurch. It’s all in the detail. Beautiful staff. Gorgeous food and the live music is always fantastic. Can’t fault it…

Gorgoues place. Three seating options - one for private functions, an indoor less nosiy option for those on the older side and an outdoor space with live music, fires etc. Gorgoues vibe. Our waiter was very friendly and we had a front view of the epic bartender and the various drinks he was making. Loved this place so much. Can't recommend the chicken skewers enough 😘. Would highly recommend this place

Updating my review which previously was 5 stars. Awesome decor and staff. Have experienced both excellent and poor food the later causing us to not return. Chicken was tough as old boot leather, fries seasoning odd. Shame potato skins were no longer available. Excellent choice of drinks.

O.G.B is an amazing place to go eat. The hours that it opens is good for lunch and dinner! We came here and the food is amazing. O.G.B food has its own unique flavour. The place also has its own unwieldy style It’s really well decorated and gorgeous for photos especially if you are a tourist. We will definitely come again when we are in Christchurch again.

What an amazing place to eat... The staff were brilliant and well dressed in a great uniform that added to the style and ambience. The food was great and the deserts were out of this world. We actually visited as a group of four and ended up sharing all our meals because they were so good. The price here is just right too. Its not cheap, but we felt like we got value for money. Great music selection in the background too. The lighting was kept low which created a really intimate atmosphere. This is a MUST do on your next Christchurch adventure.

We went to OGB on a chilly night and sat outside. It was like the most amazing après ski experience! The outdoor heaters were blasting, live music was playing, people were dancing, and the delicious drinks were flowing. Our cocktails were amazing, and we also ordered this yummy pear tart dessert and an affoggato (bellissimo!). Favorite Christchurch dining experience so far. Thanks OGB!

It is not often you find a bar with a great atmosphere, service, food, and drinks. One of my favourite places in Christchurch. Excellent selection of vegetarian and vegan cooking, and they really know how to make a great cocktail.

Not a great experience really. A work break up at xmas time. Fifty people crowded into the Parlour. This was the room next to the OGB Bar managed by OGB. The food was inadequate although very nice it was simply not enough for evening nibbles. Because it was so hot being crowded the doors were opened. This made no sense because the security guard stood close to the door way and would not let anyone spill out into the hotel's foyer with a drink so it remained hot and crowded. It would have been a great night if managed properly by OGB and held in a bigger room with more to eat.

Restaurant in a heritage building provides an unique vibe, the kitchen of the restaurant is located on the other side of the building. The restaurant indoor area is very small only has a few high tables and 3 tables for dine in, but the outdoor areas can accommodate another few tables pretty weather dependent. Menues are very creative, dish of the day is inventive too, I had nochi with wagyu, which was really yum but a bit salty.

OGB is one of my favourite places for a casual drink and bite to eat in Christchurch. The service is always spot on and the food delicious. But what I love is the cosy atmosphere, it's hard to replicate the ambience of a historical building like this in newer buildings.

Good selection of wine,Pegasus Bay Merlot was great to go with steak. Steak was grilled right as medium rare. Good vibe of outdoor seating, a bit chilly but there are heaters. Staff are friendly and nice. There is live music, someone with acoustic guitar was singing all night that night.

This place is amazing. It would do very well in any major global city. Innovative menu with very good vegan and veggie options. Fun and friendly staff. Vegan fried chicken and orange wine are highly recommended!

Great bar and a must if you are looking for fantastically crafted cocktails in Christchurch. Phil and Ben were wonderful and talented bartenders. They offer a free WiFi off you need and are located easy walking to many other bars and restaurants if you're looking for places to go before or after.

Great variety of beers! We have gone here especially for the Czech beer Pilsner Urquell, as we wanted to go back to our country for a while. And it was amazing, it’s served to a 0,5l glass and tap like at home. The seating area was pretty cool as well.

Called in for a relaxing wine in the sunshine, last Saturday. Very good service and looks like it is a popular place with the young jet setters, ( and the young at heart, like ourselves). The historic building was apparently strengthened before the earthquakes and is well worth strolling through.

We had a fantastic breakfast here: Egg and bacon sandwich, and eggs Benedict, both were absolutely marvelous. The long blacks were also better than usual. A family is running the place and we felt warmly welcome by friendly staff. The place is set up as if time stopped at some point during prohibition and everything fits lovely, including outfits and music. We will definitely come back to this place should we return to Christchurch sometimes.

Excellent pub fare, hospitality and location. We had lunch at the O. G. Bar on a Saturday afternoon and considered going back for dinner because it was so good. We ordered the chicken burger and were expecting grilled chicken with some fries. We were pleasantly surprised when the meals arrived. The chicken was coated and deep fried. It was spiced with a little heat similar to the hot, fried chicken you get in the southern US. The chicken was stacked with slaw and pickles and the bun managed to keep it all together. Hand cut fries with an exceptional tomatoes sauce finished it off. The manager welcomes all customers and the staff seem to arrive just at the right time. They also wear nice, period uniforms. You will not be disappointed when you visit this well run well establishment.

Well I have to say that we have had an amazing new year's eve in the restaurant. Rainy night, sitting outside it could have been a disaster, but thank you to the waiters we were offered first, to move closer to the umbrella even if that meant not too much space for them to work around and them they brought an umbrella for us. This cafe is great. The food is top end and the service is good too. It's hard to believe there was ever a earth quake here, the decor is like the The Great Gatsby movie! Groovy bar with great range of drinks and a very pleasant, and generally well bearded, team serving you. On a warm evening, there is a nice place to sit and enjoy the view of the remnants of cathedral square. No doubt, it is worth doing that regularly to see the recovery evolve. Oh, and live music outside too! The restaurant part is great - upmarket without being anywhere near pretentious. All in all, terrific.

Turned up here at about 11pm for a night cap on a Sunday night. This place is cool but comfortable. The Austin Robin cocktail was perfectly made. The sweetness and the creaminess worked really well together. The staff are friendly and told us about the history of the building. If you can get here during the day, you can check out the building too - it's beautiful!

An Awesome atmosphere and a great catch up point. Food And drink selection is top notch. Food is spectacular. My only complaint was that I am a solo traveller and the outside staff focused on groups, rather than who was ready to order.

Interesting menu, not sure that it all works considering the ambiance of the place. Lamb dumplings sounded so weird I had to try; if it had been pulled lamb instead of mince maybe would have worked better. Chicken wings were ok, slightly undercooked and again - strange thing to have in a kind of cocktail bar environment. Nice selection of beer and wine.

The 1920s uniform stood out along with the music of a unique flavour. It was my mum and dad's 50th anniversary. The cake was yummy. It could have come with cream though. Only four things to choose from in the mains, what was with that? The main didn't satisfy although the fish was delicious. We weren't told that side dishes like potatoes and veges was a separate dish. A good idea but please inform us what exactly we are getting with the main and what the options are!! The staff are very nice but they need to be more clear in their speech and ask every individual person at the table if they are happy and need anything. They promised my sister a window seat but we didn't get a window seat. You have to spend $40 or more to have enough to eat. That is 2.5 hours of my wages. So expensive! Nice place. I'll come again at least for a coffee. Thanks and God bless.

We were a table of four and tried all for mains. They were each absolutely delicious and the drinks were wonderful too. We also shared two entrees, which were very nice too, without being run-of-the mill or too fancy. As our waiter said, "The menu does not do justice to the food that comes out." We were too full for dessert, but we will definitely be back. This is a must taste restaurant in Christchurch.

Hands down THE BEST little bar in Christchurch. The hospitality of this place is second to none, it’s staff attentive and have a firm knowledge of the product they sell and as a visitor to New Zealand to have them take the time to talk through their extensive local wine list was a tribute to what makes boutique hotels like this one so special. Local wines, beers and whisky’s if your a visitor or a local this bar is one that you shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit. Personally I want to thank ‘TP’ and his staff for making our visit one to remember - and more importantly one that has us planning our return to this amazing little city that has such a great future ahead of it.

We have been to OGB's restaurant which is on the right hand side if you stand before the building (the bar is on the left hand side, and outside 'porch' area belong to the bar) The food and service were both excellent. My wife had the beef which was extremely soft and I had the lamb steak which was superb. Taste of both dishes was very good and portions were quite big. So with one main with potentially a side you will have enough if you want to have a quick bite. They were very kind to give some bread for our 1 yr old who was hungry Atmosphere is very cosy with good music in background Would definitely go back next time

We had the pleasure during a FIG conference in Christchurch to visit this newly established bar. The service was great with the staff happy to have a little chat with great beers and they recommend wines that my wife loves like "oaky chardonnay". They had live music whilst we were there which we enjoyed Sat 5pm-8:30pm. We stayed and had there platter which was delicious. Overall one of the best bars we have enjoyed

I was introduced to this gorgeous wee bar on Saturday by my cousin as we were killing time between my brother's wedding ceremony and reception, and I fell in love with the decor and stunning interior design of this building! Nick has done a fantastic job, in-keeping with the historic preservation of the building and it's heritage. Sitting in the bar itself, sipping on locally crafted beer and enjoying the atmosphere is an absolute pleasure! Upon returning the next day with my newly married brother, his wife and her family members, Nick was incredibly accomodating for our group of eight, his staff are friendly and professional, the bar menu is well priced and delicious, and the range of beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages is spot on. I can't wait to start recommending O.G.B as a first point of call for locals and tourists/visitors!

My partner had the fried chicken that was excellent... crispy, spicy coating and succulent meat perfectly cooked. Interesting beer and drink choices including Asahi Black... a dark lager that tasted good. Recommend this place. We intend to go back soon.
