I had the chicken burger and my wife had the steak sandwich and we shared the wontons. Absolutely delicious food. My only complaint is that the chicken only covered half the burger. HOWEVER such tender meat perfectly cooked, great tasting sauces.... We will definitely be back!

We ordered their famous Schnitzel dish on Wednesday evening, Salmon fillet & Lasagna - all dishes were fresh, very tasty and very fair prices. It's the best Salmon Fillet dish ! The place is always so busy (mainly 6pm - 7:30pm) but worth the wait.

We visited on Saturday evening with our grandparents at 6:30pm. The ice cream spiders were amazing, the service was brilliant. Attentive staff throughout the whole dining process. The meals were hot, tasty and a great size. Many thanks for a wonderful evening, we will be back soon.

We go to the tavern for an afterwork drink most weeks because it's a great bar and atmosphere. But decided to have lunch in the weekend and it was such a great choice! The prices are really affordable with just $15 lunches and the food that came out was just delicious and really well presented. Best lunch out I've had in so long!! Will be back for sure 👌👌

Food and drink were great!! Only reason it has a 4 star is that the staff were not enforcing the use of face masks at all and it made me uncomfortable having so many people walk right past my table (on the way to the smokers area) without a face mask on. From my understanding it is a requirement for all staff and customers to wear them at the moment unless they are eating or drinking so maybe this should be enforced.

We went out for lunch, had to wait awhile but it gave us time to catch up with our friends , the food was great and even better the price was well worth it. We really enjoyed the food and drinks. Our waitress was lovely.

Waited over an hour for our lunches to arrive! No warning of any wait and no apology when we were finally got it! Our meals were good but the side of fries were awful….the overcooked dregs from the bottom of the bowl! Mentioned it to the staff on paying and he said they do that sometimes!! The meals were great value, just a shame they took so long

Delicious and probably the best value dinner I've had at that style of restaurant in a long time. My pork belly was bigger, yummier and somehow still $8 cheaper than the last pork belly I had elsewhere. Superb.

A great place to get a good meal. Good food, good staff and a buzzy atmosphere. The Tavern is very popular you will need to book a table Car parking is fine as there is the Mall car park. The band in one of the photos is called Witness. Awesome tunes Back again and still a great deal.

This place is all around a great place to dine at due to their great range of quality food, very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. However this place can often be crowded and loud, and that may turn some people away from dining here, depending on the person.

an unreserved, full blooded enthusiastic recommendation. great service, wonderful ambience and even better food. 1. lamb platter for 2 @$50. This is massive. the photo doesn't do it justice. wide selection of greens, roast pumpkin, full rich and thick gravy....but goodness me, the lamb! Falling off the bone, rich and flavorsome! so so very tasty. 2. Seafood Chowder. slightly piquant. lovely chunks of soft fish. it was awesome 3. Baby Back Ribs. a classic favourite of the teenager. she enthused about them and the one I had was render and had that true Texas flavour. 4. kids nuggets....standard kids fare, with yummy wedges. thoughtful touch to have colouring and crayons all ready to go. kids were welcome and wouldn't hesitate to bring them back 5. white bait omelette...didn't get to try, but dad certainly enjoyed. if you go between 4 and 6 on weekdays there's a specials menu that's well worth exploring. it did mean the joint was packed when we arrived then got progressively quieter. loved the fully enclosed patio area with a large gas log fire. this would have been really nice place to sit had it not been reserved for a group of 20. our waitress was AWESOME...friendly and proactive and totally wonderful. I only gave a small amount of feedback, and it's not fair really because drinking Mac's is no hardship (3rd world problems and all that) but I'm not a fan of Speights or Lion so would like to have seen some other options on tap. incredible place....I WILL be back.

Good food, good portions and good prices. Best to book a table if going Friday or Saturday night. The steak was tasty and perfectly cooked. Beef Wellington has 2 mushrooms in it so they're easily removed if you're not keen on them. The lamb shank pie is huge and looks delicious. Other options include salmon and pork. There is a bar menu of chicken wings, chips and the like. Dessert options include Apple pie, roulade or cheesecake for $11 the best option is to to go for the combo at $16 where you get 3 desserts for that price its much better value. There is wheelchair accessible entrance. Outdoor seating area. Welcoming fireplace. Sports matches on The big screen. The tavern has a gambling machine area.

Absolutely amazing, great decor, lovely friendly staff, the food was awesome and very well priced too. Loved every bit of it, highly recommend Tavern Harewood, get down there and get amongst it. Definitely going back for more. 23/05/22 Disappointingly I'm going to have too change my opinion, my family and I were there two weeks ago for mothers day so understandably the place was very busy however having to wait over 45 minutes for our main plates to be cleared and asked if we wanted desserts is poor, it could have been much longer but I wouldn't know because we left. Fast forward to tonight where I thought things would be back to normal and we would actually get dessert, sadly not the case. It took 20 minutes for someone to come over and take our orders, 20 minutes after that the 2 kids meals arrived which was good but having to wait another 25 plus minutes for the 3 adults meals was not, after waiting 45ish minutes for my meal I was over hungry and unhappy to say the least. I asked one of the wait staff to which she replied "no problem" and promptly disappeared without going anywhere near the kitchen. When I told the chap whom we paid the bill too about this he fobbed me off with a "orh we're very short staffed at the moment" And yet I saw on several occasions wait staff standing around doing not a great deal and at one point saw one of them talking to kitchen staff for an extended period. On top of all that the food was decidedly average tonight. You can't deny the great value and good vibe but Tavern Harewood gets let down by poor service. Twice is too much, I doubt i'll go back.

The decoration of the bar and restaurant is trendy and stylish, the space is spacious and comfortable, the staff are very enthusiastic, hospitality, and the food is very good.

Well, what's not to like about the Tavern Harewood. Friendly staff, awesome food, great atmosphere. Stopped in for a quick refreshment and a spot of food! We chose the meat platter today. Definitely for the meat eater. Didnt disappoint.

The staff were lovely. I got the seafood chowder and it was very mulched up, no shellfish like mussels on top, found 1 whole shrimp and it was chewier than gum!!! No homemade bread, just cheap toast...yuck

I don't think i have ever been to the Harewood tavern and not once had a good time. Friendly and helpful staff, good range of ice cold beers, good range of dishes on offer from the chefs and plenty of sky sport on the big screen. On top of that plenty of parking! Why bother going into town? Will always be back. I wish they still had the model cars in the glass cabinet though they were cool!

The person that served us was helpful, friendly and also awesome. The place was very noisy but that is to be expected on a busy Friday evening.

A really lovely establishment with a great vibe! The service I received was outstanding which is really important. The Food however was disappointing, my chips were …mmm what’s the word..bleh. My chicken patty was burnt, oily and chewy, in fact my jaw got tired half way through. But hey the beer was great so I WILL be back.

I Love that the tavern is in the Bishopdale shopping center. You can order Domino's and pop over for a quick pint and punt. Always clean tidy friendly and professional. Grat place to watch sport games live. Lively atmosphere later in the night.

I took my partner out for a Mother's Day treat and we enjoyed ourselves . We were treated very well by our waitress who made us feel very welcome . Being a sports bar it was a bit noisy so we asked to be move , no problem , we had another table inside a ... minute . Our food arrived inside 35 minutes , not bad for a packed restaurant . I had the steak , tender , juicy with crunchy fries , salad and onion rings . Mum had the beef Wellington which she enjoyed very much . No dessert though , full up from the main course , very good portions , and very good value .

I just love this place! Went there last year and this year for my birthday and had the ribeye and creme brulee both times. Please don't ever take these off the menu because you guys nail them! I called it last night, best ribeye I've ever had. So good I couldn't bare to leave what I couldn't eat so I took it home 🙈 My partner always gets the seafood chowder and loves it. Great atmosphere. Great staff. Awesome wine list. Super affordable. I'd eat here every night if I could!

Looking for lunch over new year break. Saw a bunch of groups of seniors heading in so decided they would now where to dine at reasonable cost. Very nice low priced meals at 12 or 15 for majority. Presentation and quantities good. Got a couple of drinks orders wrong but no big. Overall a very nice well priced lunch stop that deserved to be as busy as it was.

The manager Rob is a gentleman with great customer service and always looks after my little boy with a high chair when going for lunch. I love the open pork sandwich and the Guinness isn't bad either but at $13 a pint is very steep it's more expensive than temple bar in Dublin!( the most expensive in Ireland) I'm sorry I didn't ask price first.

First time visit - I had a Beef Wellington, my husband had a Rib eye steak. Both meals were absolutely delicious. Everything we had was cooked to perfection & salad was yummy .. (not just a bunch of green sitting in a bowl!) Have to say the atmosphere within was very welcoming and genuine. The staff we noticed were happy and cheerful with both customers & other staff. They all worked together so well .. Very noticeably so. The staff are an asset to this place .. tho very busy and we had no reservation, a table was found for us, it wasn't over noisy, the service was impeccable and the meals were so yummy. Definitely we will return and pass on our thoughts to friends. 💯%

We visited on a Saturday night, group of 8. It got a bit hard to hear during the evening, the acoustics could have been a bit better, but there wasn't much else I could find to complain about. The food was delicious, plenty of it, really nicely cooked, excellent price. Meals at other tables all looked pretty good as well. Drinks were a little on the expensive side but were a good size. It was nice and warm on a cold night. We'll definitely be back.

WOW, we celebrated a birthday, here last night, the service was fantastic, the food was delicious and prompt. It was super busy, but all staff were amazing. The Maitre De, has a special mention, as he was super efficient and clearly knew how to serve under pressure. Would recommend to anyone. To the Chefs in the kitchen, well done your food was amazing.

We have patronized the Harewood Tavern since day one and always looked forward to our meals and the great staff. Never been disappointed with our meals and service until last Sunday lunch. The lamb burger was bland and tasteless and the pork sandwich was nothing like it used to be in appearance very small serving. Realize it was busy thus the 40 minute wait

Was disappointed with wait times: 25mins to receive drinks order and then, another hour for our food ( was a booked table for 7 for Saturday lunch) and only a few tables used in restaurants. Had the fried chicken & bacon burger as part of "Burger Night" on a Tuesday. The staff and chefs went out of their way to make a coleslaw without mayonnaise when I asked for no sauce on the burger. The chicken was succulent and the bacon was crispy. Accompanied with a side of fries, and for only $15. Fantastic service and great food.

Fantastic service and great food - the nachos and ribs are particularly good (especially with waffle chips). So good we went twice in two nights. Also a good looking sports bar feel, great range of taps. Live music wasn’t very lively and they stopped early, which was a shame, but otherwise a good dining experience.

After having our flight delayed 4 hours. My family were at eachothers throats and craving a good meal more than you can imagine. After getting some groceries from across the road we stumbled into the Tavern and all of a sudden the delay was well worth it. 4 of the 5 family members had the fish special (blue cod) and the other had a ceaser salad. All 5 meals were absolutely amazing. Staff were super helpful and friendly and the environment was layed back. Everything we could have asked for. Thank you so much! Would 100% recommend!

Service is generally good but can be a little patchy depending on the person serving. Food is solid pub fare, beef Wellington is perfectly cooked. Beers are all well cellared and they pour a decent Guinness. All round this is a good local.

Despite some initial hiccups when we arrived - the staffs were busy with their own things and ignored us for a while - I still give this place a five star. The gentleman who helped find us a table was very patient and kind in setting up a high chair for us amidst their smaller tables. I appreciate this as they had to move some tables further to the side to make this happen. We ordered an Angus Rib Eye Steak and the Market Fresh Fish. Both were excellent! We saw other diners going with their Special for Two (lamb shoulder) which I would have tried if I haven't just had one a few days back. The waitress taking our orders were patient and sincere in her recommendations; despite only having worked there for a few short weeks, she did her best to share with us her opinions and were very honest in saying that she hasn't tried some of the things we were interested in. Definitely would recommend this place if you're dropping by Christchurch and have time for a nice dinner.

Most mains are $20 I usually get the steak which is always cooked to perfection with yummy steamed veges and garlic butter or mushroom sauce. Also recommend the salmon... and the beef wellington... and the lamb shank pie! it's always packed so you need to book especially on saturday when the rugby is on. Creme brulee big enough for two people to share :) brunch is generous in size and they have these home made crumpets...
