We had fish n chips and salad. Lovely fresh fish with crunchy batter and lovely chips,salad was really nice. And we had brownie for dessert and banana split, the meals were huge and your leftovers can be boxed up and taken ,good value for the money.the staff are friendly and helpful

First table sample menu must be there old menu as the current one for dinner is completely different as they serve tapas, burgers and sides for dinner. Website menu page is broken also. Food was really good highly recommend the country chicken and the beef smokey brisket.

Service was great. Had the squid. Pretty bland. Aioli was good. Chef you need to season your meat. The fish was under seasoned and the pork belly was too. No black pudding. The mash was overly salty. Otherwise all in all not bad.

This place was AMAZING! We came here for our last night in New Zealand per my sister's reccomendation and the food was so wonderful. The service was really great too!

I picked up a Grab one voucher for $39 which entitled us to two course meals each. Incredible value for the quality of the meat dishes. The steak was done to 'rare' perfection. My compliments to the chef. The staff were kind and attentive and the I really enjoyed the Idaho Hazy. 👍

Nice and cosy bar with darts and board games. Great place for a cheeky Sunday session as it feels like you can really just hang out here. Really enjoyed it.

Awesome pub just up the road from There Boys Brewing and a must visit if you're in the area. Great beer selection and super friendly staff keen to chat and help you find the perfect beer for you, definitely one of the best places for beer in Christchurch!

Great friendly atmosphere Awesome food I had the ribs and man they are good sticky falling of the bone my wife had the steak cooked to perfection great cut, even though they didnt' have mushroom sauce with the steak meal they especially made it which was awesome. We didn't like to partake of the craft beers or wine, they did however make us bourbon and cokes when it wasn't part of our grabone deal. More than happy to pay full price any time. Our compliments to the chef who came out of the kitchen to take the special order very friendly and awesome cook

The food here is amazing and the portion sizes are very large we had the hot hop platter and it was delicious, communication between staff wasn’t great but it didn’t change our experience so no points off 5 star will be back

We went there for our wedding anniversary & played pool while waiting for our dinner the beer was so good but the food was even better! Man the chef can cook a mighty good steak it was to die for!! probably the best one I've eaten in years I was pleasantly surprised by all of the good food which i struggled to scoff they even kindly gave us our dessert in a doggy bag to take home & kept it chilled in the fridge while we played another game of pool after our meal. Thanks for the great service! We will be back.

LOVED IT. Had a family dinner on a Grab One voucher. The staff were great. Really friendly and on to it. Food was delicious with generous helpings for hungry teens. Steak was cooked perfectly. Lovely atmosphere. Cosy with good acoustics for chatting.

Been going here for quiz night and food was boring and pretty unealthy . TONIGHT, new chef, new menu, fabulous portion sizing.. too big if anything...lots of gorgeous salad and perfectly cooked veg. The fish was juicy, loved it all. Desserts looked good too... didn't have room. Thanks

First time coming here and loved it! The staff were really friendly and would go above and beyond. The food was delicious and with big portions, couldn't even finish my vegetarian nachos as got so full! All 8 of us left commenting on how great the food and service was. Will be going back for sure!

My wife and I loved the excellent food, great decor and relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff, now with a ever changing selection of craft beers on tap to perfectly match your meal. Good selection of full main dishes as well as smaller morsels to share over a pint. Attracts a friendly group of patrons. Definitely coming back.

Bit of a shame for them that the staff let them down. Brisket was absolutely beautiful; burgers were awesome; croquettes so moreish... but somehow the beer took longer than the entree and then we never got offered another. The most authentic English pub experience we've had yet. They have classic hand-pulled craft beers! Better yet they let you taste them all before choosing!! The well informed staff are friendly and welcoming. Most of the seating is cozy booth-style but the open layout keeps it from being cramped. We had a steak and the pork belly and both were cooked to perfection. There is an upstairs and something fun was going on up there, we will have to investigate next time.

Great pub..Happened to be there on Monday when the quiz was on. Tried some of the beer on a hand pull. Really happy to see some english style cask ale on as lived in UK for 7 years.Great selection of craft and cask beer..staff was really knowledgeable and friendly..well done!

Great beer, cider and food. Very relaxed with really friendly helpful staff. My burger was spot on and my partners vegan lasagne was exactly what she wanted. It's on the wrong side of town for me but I will be back.

Turned up to have a couple of craft beers on a Monday and felt a bit let down when they were missing several of their tap beers after what was apparently a busy weekend. On a positive note,the staff are friendly and the place has a nice vibe. I'm yet to try the food.

I ate here the other night and had a great meal. I am coeliac and have a few other dietary requirements so eating out at a new place always makes me a little nervous. The waitor was amazing, communicating well between me and the kitchen and was so understanding, can quite often feel like an alien. The chef was lovely too and made me a very tasty salmon nicoise. Will def be returning.

Cool Kiwi vibe style atmosphere, good if your a local or international tourist, very welcoming and friendly staff. Big like legit "Huge" servings of meals great options definitely value for money, the chef knows how to cook. Ka Pai Twisted Pop 👍 Ps: if aren't a Vegan, Duck Fat potato's is one of their best things to have as a side dish or with a main meal.

OMG. Took the bus to Woolston mid-week to try yet another brew pub in Christchurch while on a work assignment. Wonderful warm place, fire going, solid wooden furniture (appeals to a European). Lovely friendly staff, and one of the best meals in a long time. Grilled kingfish with a mash from chick peas and pinto beans, an aubergine dip and mesclun salad. Told the waitress to give the chef a big hug from me. Some really good real (cask) ales made it a perfect evening. So impressed!
