Wow what a lovely place to dine at. Beautiful decor, tables well spaced. Super helpful and friendly staff And most importantly, the food is delicious and looks devine. Great prices, we just wish there was a bigger dessert portion!

Had lunch with family visiting from out of town. Opened with liquid breakfast at 11am and a chat while catching up. Murdoch (licensee) visited our table and gave us a whole range of bottle openers, sun glasses and caps as a welcome gift. Great humor, plenty general knowledge about the area and warm appreciation for our patronage. I had a chicken burger with crispy fries for lunch and they didn't disappoint with amazing views alfresco. Sapphire is the lovely chef behind the counter. Will make this my local while in Dunedin for 6 months. You wont be disappointed. 👍🎊🎶🎉

Low and Slow meat Co "light option" chicken wrap $18 is a hugely generous meal and the Chicken and Bacon salad was the same, being a really big meal so great value. I ordered regular Beef Brisket with salad and slaw as the sides $25 total. All in all was OK nothing worth raving about but nothing to complain about either. In my opinion the concept is great but it would be more enjoyable if they placed your meal on a plate instead of having 3 seperate bowls in front of you. Tried some of the Lamb shoulder also and it was quite nice . Have heard the sharing platter ($60 recommended for 2 people) is really generous and great value for money, this gives you a variety of meats and sides to enjoy. The staff were great and the restaurant is pretty cool being surrounded by windows. Made for a great veiw when it suddenly started pissing down!

What a transformed restaurant this has now become and a delightful surprise. Meals for 7 of us were all different and very enjoyable. Kids prices were awesome and appealing with good choices. Plenty of room and service was above and beyond our expectation and our waitress went out of her way to cater to all our needs. We will definitely be back as this is now a great family restaurant.

One of my favourite brunch spots in Dunedin. The Eggs Benedict never disappoints! The atmosphere and décor are lovely, as is the view out across the ocean. Staff are always attentive, friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.

Had a very nice meal. Service was good without being outstanding.. but it's very noisy. High ceilings with nothing to buffer the noise. Three quarters full when we were there and was noisy enough that you have to talk quite loud to each other.. We did sit over by the windows so maybe that was part of the issue. All in all a good enough feed but could be a bit cheaper. Meals are high class restaurant cost without the high class feel.

Our new favourite - and all because of the staff. We dropped into Mornington Taphouse on a Friday evening and got a table near the kitchen. We had our whole family and a few friends so the 9 of us shared a large table together. Our kids were being kids, and playing with some of the large kids games set up in another area of the restaurant throughout the night, and the staff were just amazing with them. From tying our middle child's shoes when they saw they were un-laced, through to providing activities and colouring pencils, nothing was a bother. Even with us being positioned near the kitchen with our kids toing and froing between the table and games area, the staff were just amazing.. The food was great too. Big $19 pizzas, salads, burgers etc. We came away very happy and the while family was very satisfied. We don't live close, but would make the trip up to Mornington Taphouse just for the service alone. If you have a family, go to Mornington Taphouse - it's that easy.

Great, decent sized, tasty pub meals & friendly staff. Had one staff member to look after a table of 20 and did a great job the whole night. Only downside was as we were last table of the night they had shut the coffee machine down.

Neither good or bad, Mornington Taphouse sits right in the middle as far as ratings go. The food - Blue Cod was nice, but the pieces were the smallest I've ever seen, and as for the salad, it looked like it had gone swimming in dressing before being put on the plate. The menu too said that the Cod came with Malt Vinegar, but instead it came with Tartare. The dessert though not huge was a reasonable $9 and was quite tasty.

Oh my gosh, we came here for a late lunch. The coffee was delicious.. and hot. Best mocha my husband has found in Dunedin. We got the ploughmans lunch and battered chips. The chips were crispy golden on the outside, melt in the mouth soft on the inside with chipotle aioli for a dipping sauce. Ploughmans lunch had crispy pickles, salty kalamata olives and beautiful creamy cheeses. The cold cuts were plentiful and thinly sliced, perfect for gracing the flat bread and crostini to top with juicy sun dried tomato. The quantities were very generous and the staff were fabulous, friendly and helpful. We were already planning our next visit as we left.

Awesome staff and great hospitality, we turned up without a reservation on a Wednesday afternoon for a gathering of 15-20 people after a funeral, we were made to feel welcome, the meals were awesome and that deck on a warm sunny day was a perfect spot. Cheers guys!

Went for drinks and dinner as a group of about 12 including children. I dine at a lot of different restaurants and didn't have expectations of wonderful cuisine but it was actually really decent and great value. I'd definitely return. Most main dishes are enough for two people.

I am a Dunedin Local and I was very very impressed with the mornington taphouse and house they have upgraded thier restaurant area. It is truely a special space. The menus have a great selection and the food comes out quickly but it still competed with a fantastic level of care. It was busy but we still got our food in a good time frame. I got a sharing player and holy crumbs was it delicious and such good value for money!!! Highly recommend both tourists and locals check this place out!!!

Two Wonderful Young Ladies took care of us and were nothing but AMAZING!!! Service was the best EVER! and the food was 11/10. We got the Platter for 2 there was myself and sis and our two girls....This fed us and also had leftovers!!!. Would recommend the Restaurant to ANYONE wanting value for money.
