Fantastic tour! Our tour guide was so much fun! Very informative and generous beer/cider tastings at the end. Loved it!

Wonderful place to enjoy a pint and learn about how it’s made. Also, the tasting program is unbeatable!

The brewery tour priced $22 for adult is totally value for money. Easy explanations and interesting facts with at least 3-4glass tasting section. What else can one want ???? some small bites may be...😁..just kidding. 🍺🍺🍺

The Speights brewery tour was amazing, thanks to Ken the tour guide and crew for a great time. I was also pleasantly surprised by the good quality merchandise at the store.

Did the brewery tour in 2013, very interesting, especially liked the tasting session at the end!! Will definitely visit again on our next trip to NZ.

We went on the brewery tour. The price was well worth it and our tour guide Aaron (from Wales) was absolutely awesome. He was very knowledgeable and charismatic. When you have a tour guide make even all the boring information entertaining and engaging it's important. All the way from the 8th floor down you get to know all the interworkings. Don't want to spoil too much but you should check it out.

Excellent brewery tour. I was asked to be a back marker so that the guide wouldn't start talking about the next thing until i had entered the room so everyone was there. There is quite a number of stairs to go down, so wheelchair access isnt good. Tour guide was well informed about the history. Free beer at the end, including the ability to pour your own

I just did the brewery tour which was the standard brewery tour but the tour guide did his best to keep thing animated with plenty of good natured ribbing directed towards myself as I was unbelievably the youngest one on the tour as well as being the only non-Kiwi.

Tour is well set out and very informative. However it was very rushed with no time to look around once guide finished speaking about each section. Same with the tasting area, great but rushed. Disappointing in the end because it could have been so much better if more time was allowed and you were less rushed.

Rob the tour guide was an absolute legend. He made the tour a real authentic experience and had us laughing away too. Highly reccomend.

We really enjoyed the brewery tour here. The trip was highly informative about the history of the brewery and their process of beer making. The tasting session at the end was a highlight! Thanks Ken for the great tour.

This afternoon at noon I really enjoyed a 75 minutes tour I explored inside the brewery with Stephen Moore the tour guide and translator in more details including the processes, three founders, my first time beer tasting at the end.

There beer on tap is the best in the country...☀️☀️☀️

Well worth the time and money. Great to taste all the varieties at the end. The combo deal with lunch is great value. The only criticism is that the tour felt rushed.

An amazing tour to go on while in Dunedin. Ken our Canadian guide was fabulous and took time to explain all the history and of course the beer in the tasting room after the tour. A must do while in Dunedin.

Enjoyable enough, but not a "must-do". Good quality tour guide, and well-organised, with a chance to taste all the Speight's beers at the end. The more fascinating aspect of the tour was the information provided about the early history of Dunedin. The actual rooms of the working part of the brewery were not particularly interesting and not explained in much detail.

Food was amazing, would definitely recommend. Our waitress was not the most friendly, but the food was excellent so I can’t complain. The beer was quite tasty as well. We got the lamb, the blue cod, and the slow cooked braised brisket. As well as the seasonal IPA and some other more regular brews.

Great tour! John was our super lovely guide, provided lots of interesting history and fun facts and we had lots of fun trying all thw different beers in the tab room (pouring them ourselves as well, ;)) Highly recommended!

What a great experience going on the tour tonight. Keith is an awesome tour guide and highly knowledgeable on the past and current brewery operations. Keith was able to interact and engage with everyone so well! The history of Speights was well delivered to the audience! Enjoyed taste testing the great range of Speights products at the end of the tour and pleased to see how the group mingled. Highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic service. Great tour. Lovely staff. Even better beer tasting once you finish a very interesting tour through the brewery. Definitely recommend this and would certainly do it again.

Ken was our guide he was great and informative. We learnt so much more than just about beer. A lot of Dunedin history as well. Try and go when your here. Fantastic tasting afterwards of anything you would like.

The most fun an informative brewery tour we have been on. Tasting was fun too! Ron is an awesome guide.

I decided to do this tour last minute on the night before I left Dunedine and I am so glad that I did it. You start the tour on the 8th floor and work your way back through all the different levels of the brewary seeing the process of beer making. The guide was very friendly and informative (if not a little bit scary with the amount of foundation she was wearing). You get to see all the machinery they use, the store room and there is even a picture of how many staff worked at the factory in the early 1900's and then they tell you how many work there now, which is a real surprise. For $20 it was a great tour and they ensure that there is time to take pictures too which is always a bonus.

Came to do the new tour. They've put a lot of work into the tour - it has been completely redesigned. Loads of interactives and videos that really help you understand the brewing process. Highlight was the tasting session at the end. An incredibly knowledgable host talked is through each of the beers on tap and we could pour and try them all. Such a great experience. Staff here are all so friendly and approachable. Highly recommend heading here if you're in Dunedin.

Josh was an awesome tour guide, very knowledgeable and interesting. He had a very thick kiwi accent, but that just added to the cool vibe. Good beer selection and plenty of opportunities to take photos of the old and the new brewery. Highly recommended!

The tour experience was somewhat interesting, but not superb. Basic information given. The flow was cumbersome with turning on and off lights in different display areas and queuing for the next segment of the tour. You do get to see most parts of the operations process. The guide was very knowledgable if you asked questions, but his initial presentation was more basic. The after tour beer tasting was great, but the five beers and one cider on tap were nothing special. Overall slightly overpriced for the depth of tour information (in April 2017).

New tour is fully revamped. Engaging guide and a mix of understandable technical info and stories/facts about what makes Speight’s unique, its history! If you need more encouragement the included 30 minute tasting session includes 10 taps, 9 beers and a cider as well as a range of soft drinks. Shop has a big range of items many of them are surprisingly cheap. Also a cellar door for take away beer bottles and draft jug fills. Pride of the South for good reason!

Good water and good brews. Make sure to make a donation when getting your water so Speights is able to continue the public service of providing fresh and clean drinking water.

Our tour guide, Ron, was an absolute treat! Enthusiastic, funny, and made an effort to get to know everyone on the tour. Give the man a raise!

Wasn't impressed with service when we arrived. Graham was a good tour guide but felt rushed in the end, once his tour was over we felt we were imposing. Get in, tour, purchase and leave.... Next!

Speights brewery is really awesome and the tour is informative and interactive and fun you learn so much. The bar at the end where you get to try beers and cider and Macs soft drinks for the kids and you get to try serving your own drinks is fun.

Had a wonderful time. Our guide was knowledgeable & catered the tour to make it fun for our 3 year old.

As a Dunediner, I have to admit I've never been a huge fan of Speights, but after doing the tour and doing the tasting I have more of a like for it. The tour guide was so utterly enthusiastic and informative and you get a thorough description of how it's made.

My wife & I managed to get the best seat in the house (in front of the roaring fire) back in July 2012. The service was great & the food was totally amazing. After quite a few pints we left this place with full bellies & a great memory that we'll hold close to our hearts forever.

Nice to see the history of how the tri-star is made. Most exciting part of the tour is the all you can drink part at the end. Of course, you could get a 12 pack at your local Pak 'n Save and drink to your heart's content but it's much more worth it when you've got 15 minutes to sink as much Speights as you can handle.

Very special experience to know the beer made. If you have flex time, you can go on Bookme to see the special price. The tour end will let you drink some kind of beer unlimited!

Tour good though can't see much brewing but was good to see the changes in manufacturing. The tasting at the end was a definite highlight.

Captain James Cook reported penguins and seals in the vicinity, which led sealers to visit from the beginning of the 19th century.The early years of sealing saw a feud between sealers and local Maori from 1810 to 1823, the "Sealers' War" sparked by an incident on Otago Harbour. An agreement was made in 1824 and which was believed to have led to the saying 'Seal the deal'. We celebrated at Spreight's Ale House where,after 7 beers, I broke my seal and used the gents.
