A lovely looking old world Pub but sadly we were 4 hrs early so not open. Monday and Tuesday opening time is 4pm. Will return sometime for an other visit.

A lovely experience with a very pleasant hostess, quite the opposite of my experience at the Strath Taieri Hotel at Middlemarch where the hostess was humourless and intolerant when I asked for a beer glass which was a little more upmarket than the 60 year old style produced by her.

A great character hotel stay. A nights stay at Macraes Flat up in the clouds in the cool morning mist was very refreshing. Great food, great hospitality. A recommended experience.
