A great place to go and relax. Ice cold beer, the food was excellent. Welcomed in by the friendly and willing to help staff. I'll be back for sure.

Relaxed atmosphere with delicious meals. We had Surf &Turf plus Market Fish (orange roughy) with vegetables. Both were stunningly presented and taste was above par. Shout-out to the Chef. To follow we had Creme brulee & Eaton mess, also stunning and delicious. We will definitely be back

Took my daughter out for lunch. We are both so full. Prices are good, place is warm. Thought it might have been busier for school holidays. Mushroom sauce is on point. Meals came out reasonably quick as well.

Do yourself a favour and visit this establishment.The place is great! Atmosphere is warm and relaxed and the staff are also really friendly and know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about. And you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. My partner had a Kensington beef burger and said it was delicious as handmade patties. And if you want a bit of spice try out their Prawn Mei Goreng ~ delise as well. We will be back.

Had our Trade night out and it was great they catered to 40 people different ages and everyone enjoyed the night . Was so easy to organize and the food was delicious and the service was tops thanks Harry and Deckin I'll definitely be booking more with you guys in the future. Awesome atmosphere throughout the whole bar well done to the owner you obviously focus on good team culture 👍

Very “local.” Not my kind of joint, but the prices are good, drink selection is good, the food is decent for the most part (burger looks good with branded bun, but features a presumably ex-frozen disc of meat that was decidedly below average), and there are big screens everywhere. Good place to watch sports.

Ended up here for lunch today as we wanted to go to Emersons but it was booked out. It was definitely the better option, the meals were amazing! The steak was one of the best I have eaten, I like it blue and it was cooked exactly that and the mushroom sauce was fabulous! The pub wasn't packed out so we could have a decent conversation without yelling, we didn't have to wait long for our meals, there was a pool table which kept the kids entertained 😉 we will definitely be back!

I'm not a burger person at all, but their Kensi-burger has won my heart over. Delicious. Perfectly moist meat and great combination of ingredients. Would go there again, but it's a little expensive so I can't go as much as I want to. The staff were lovely too.

We had my sons 21st function at The Kensington in their function room upstairs, the staff were lovely and helpful especially our appointed main barman Declan. The food was lovely and there was plenty :)

Good hearty food and a family environment. The value for money is exceptional. We eat here usually once a week as we always feel comfortable bringing a young child. Sundays, kids eat free! This is a sports bar so there is always something on the screens too.

Go there at times for lunch for catch up. Good cheap lunch but I like the wraps. Usually get two for the meal. There is a cheap menu and a bit more expensive menu. Fast service and lovely friendly staff. Food usually comes out in a good time. There a roast at lunch and also fish and a few others on cheap menu. Always cery tidy and clean. Plenty of parking.

Breath of fresh air is the best way to describe what's happening at the kensington. Went to dinner last night with family (there was a Quiz on, so the pub was quite busy) as we heard from friends that the new menu was really good. They're not wrong. New menu with its blend of kiwi favourites and some Asian dishes is fantastic. This menu, simply presented on a sheet of A3 paper is coupled with cocktails (yummy and funny) and a wine list highlighting many of our beautiful NZ wines. No doubt, my favourite dish on the menu was the mie goreng......delicious, authentic and took me straight back to Bali ( new chef is Indonesian so hardly surprising it was so good). The wait staff were excellent, attentive and able to answer any questions we had about the menu. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and think the positive changes happening at the kensington are long overdue. The staff told us the new owners have some exciting plans for the kensington. Brilliant, looking forward to what's coming next.

I went looking for good pub grub - size and price a bonus - and, even though it was after 3 and they were serving off the lunch menu, I explained I was hankering after sausages, eggs and chips. They immediately pivoted to include that as an option - "we've got everything there" for which I was grateful. That and a huge spicy tomato juice was exactly what I wanted and the plate was generous and perfectly prepared. Friendly staff (despite the packed sports bar area for Sunday sports crowd) and relatively quiet dining area. The ultimate community pub.

Went here for a pub quiz on a Monday night. Great range of drinks.smoking area.the place is really well set up for "believe it or not" quiz with screens and sound piped through the place - even out to the smoking area. Great kitchen service and reasonable coffee. Will definitely be back

Had a superb evening at a quiz night hosted at The Kensington tonight, they had an awesome themed menu, I didn't eat, but I had mad food-envy! Women's toilets were clean and tidy, waitresses were on their game.

Turned out to be fully booked but they still took walk up dinner order with nowhere to sit. Ended up wedged in a corner having to cram down dinner before the booking arrived. Food was good but still the same issue with scowly staff they always seem to have there. Very hit and miss place, can be good can be very unwelcoming.

Popular place. I have family in Dunedin so freedom camp nearby a few times a year. As a thank you, l make a point of buying at least one meal when l'm there. They seem to organise quite a few well patronised events, poker and quiz nights etc. Large screen TV and gaming machines and a pool table. Good atmosphere and seems friendly and welcoming regardless of how busy they are. Mostly just standard pub meals but, done well.

Was a nice day to be wandering around a fair. Great for the kid's , a lot of different stores and giftwhare available. Temporary tattoo's seems popular. Some great innovative jewelry available at a number of different artist's. Great day for it !

Great service, great pub meal and a nice environment. We were there in a party of 5 on a Saturday for lunch. It was nicely furnished and quiet. We had very good portions and it was priced well. The waitress was excellent.
