$86.50 lunch treat. Mains; Battered Fish, Fettuccine Pasta, Garlic Bread. Caraff Lemonade, Flat White, Hot Chocolate. Fish wasn't great, Fettuccine was average. The rest was really nice. Great spot to people watch on a sunny Gizzy day and to catch up with your favourite child😁

Reasonable food. Nothing flash. Husband got chicken which was delicious the others got burgers and sandwiches which were fine - but nothing too exciting or unique. Would have been great given location and name to have more seafood options on the menu. Limited beer selection - again would have been good to see more craft beer or local produce. Quite expensive but helpful and accommodating staff.

It would have been 5 stars as the food was amazing, and our overall service was outstanding. But there was one waiter (who was a male foreigner) who clearly made some of the female waitresses and I very uncomfortable. I was very agitated by his flirtatious attitude and his consistency with over stepping boundaries. Excluding that we did have a very enjoyable lunch :)

Wonderful service all around. Solid selection of food at good prices. Food was almost too quick in coming out, we had to adjust our evening plans as we're used to long wait times to eat. We made slight adjustments to our orders and meals came out exactly as we asked. Sitting outside on a warm summers evening is Gizzy dining at its best! Highly recommended.

Stopped in for breakfast before a day on the road so hoped meals would be filling and good. We were not disappointed. We both ordered the Deputy Dog and let me tell you, where ever they get their bacon from should be on everyone's bacon shopping list. I'm sure Chef will try take credit for how well it cook it but he definitely started with a far superior bacon than what we normally buy. Drinks were great. Staff were super friendly. Outdoor seating overlooking the marina and river was really nice. We know where we're stopping next time we're in town.

Location and atmosphere great! Unfortunately the service was slow we had booked a table were seated and waited quite sometime before being offered drinks and our orders taken. We also had to ask for water we were initially offered 1 bottle between 7 of us. Food, well I had the fish and given we were in Gisborne on the wharf I had high expectations and was sorely disappointed, the chicken burger was tasteless, but the steak was good apparently. It was an anti climax after having a fantastic meal at Lone Star next door a week earlier. We only tried the Wharf because the Lone Star was closed. I guess if ya wanna just have drinks with a nice outlook it's worth a visit.

Had pre-xmas lunch here on Sunday 4/12/21 for 8, Cowboy Steaks, Hot Caesar Salad with Prawns, Boss Hog Grill, Marinara Pasta, Jalapeno Poppers, Wharf Burgers and Kid Burger for the 3yr old. Food cooked as ordered, inhaled with relish, large servings therefore had leftovers to take home, enjoyed cocktails, ciders, pilseners, export 33s during very reasonable wait time, Brulee breakout and Affogato dessert were taste explosions!! Both waitresses awesome, went over and above always with a smile and were very patient with an impatient littlie. Thank you Staff at The Wharf and have a very Merry Xmas from our family and friends.

Meal was ok and staff were friendly enough. We were seated at a table with bar stools as the restaurant had a booking 1.5 hours later, we came, ate, and left with the restaurant being basically empty. While we sat eating on bar stools, very uncomfortable!

Good service, small wait for mains on a Friday night. Recommend booking a table. Chicken "chick norris" wrapped in bacon with roast veges and mash had a very tasty sauce. Poncho platter of seafood however had slightly overcooked seafood to our liking but good flavours, the risotto tomato chorizo base flavour was a little overpowering and the seafood got lost. Creme Brulee was delicious. Overall a very yummy experience.

Just wanted somewhere to go for a bite to eat/entree and maybe a dessert at around 8pm. Lone Star had closed their kitchen so we stopped in here. I was impressed by the atmosphere, the attentive wait staff, the speed the food came out of the kitchen, and the highlight - the sriricha covered wings. What an amazing entree. Dessert was good too. Will come again, hopefully for a full meal next time. :)

It was a great evening celebrating my partners bday when we reached Wharf on a rainy evening. The place have decided be a great job profile n setting the interiors melting with the whole atmosphere of the surroundings along with a tall structure. Jasmine who served us was just an amazing person. Not even guided us through the menu but also helped us in deciding the options for a dinner. The wings tasted really good, only few places sell some really great wings and one of them are they. Meals were great, big and succulent, menu has quite a good options on it, I had a burger and my partner had a asian style seafood . We both enjoyed the whole evening. Thanks

I brought my children here for lunch, son had the " Wharf Burger", daughter had a "Holy Caeser" , myself had a "Lets get Lippy" dish and we all enjoyed the meals, fantasic dishes, absolutely delicious, my son loved the chips that came with the tasty burger, good value and friendly service. The restaurant is located right next to the port and the scenery is very good, you can enjoy the food while enjoying the scenery. Parking in the restaurant is very convenient. A total of five people have ordered different meals, and the meals are delicious. The environment is comfortable and clean. Have a comfortable lunch

Popped in for lunch, got there around 11.30ish. The meals were excellent. The staff were knowledgeable about the menus and were polite and courteous. The bathrooms were clean and tidy. Plenty of parking as well.

We had my daughters 10th birthday here. 6 kids 10 adults. Food was out fast and out at the same time. Everyone was happy with their meals. I always enjoy the Thai mussels. The peach cocktail is devine.Friendly and fast service but without panic. We took a birthday cake and there is a $10 fee for that which I think is fair. I love the Wharf Bar, we've had many big and small family dinners here but unfortunately we won't be back for sometime because of the current traffic light system.

This was a great choice. Food was wonderful, both mains and dessert. We sat outside and enjoyed watching a working port as dark descended. I had mussels which were delicious. A bowl of water for fingers would have brought the perfect touch. Only niggle was the wait for dessert menus then dessert. We wondered, for a while, if sitting outside meant we were forgotten - a minor niggle in comparison to the rest of the experience. Fully reccomend this place for a great dining experience.

The foods was good but one of the waitress there was unhelpful. We stayed a week in Gisborne for holiday and this was the first restaurant we decided to try. We asked for recommendations but the waitress just said “I don’t know, it’s your meal”. As a experienced customer service manager, that was very unhelpful and disappointed.

We had a reservation for five at 7pm which we'd reconfirmed on the day. All good when we arrived and staff friendly. Took the drinks order pretty much straight away and we also asked for water for the table-which we had to ask three times for before it finally arrived. Ordered entree for the table and then mains. It took over an hour for the food to arrive then it all arrived at once! The table server was very apologetic but considering she'd also said 30mins before that the food wouldn't be long we were kind of over it. Could have understood if the place was packed but it wasn't. Food was good so that was a saving grace.

Had dinner at wharf bar. Staff greeting was excellent very warm an welcoming service was fast our waitress made sure we were comfortable and kept checking if we needed anything else ill give her a 5 star rating😁the food was great cooked to perfection 5 star chefs! also the dessert was to perfection!5 star! Beautiful view felt like we were dinning on a boat lol. Thanks wharf bar we'll be back! Cheers!

What wonderful service. From the moment we arrived we were looked after. Top service. Kai very tasty and all that we needed. Perfect companion drinks and I have to say wonderful coffee. Clean and tidy. Very welcoming and pleasant. Even we both went to leave thinking the other had paid!!!!! We did pay - but beautifully handled by the staff member. Quick enough, efficient and good quality
