S. D.We have eaten there a few times now. Staff generally super friendly. The carvery is always delicious and well priced. Off the menu, the chicken was dry and the ham a huge disappointment. The decor is charmingly quaint, although some of the seats sag uncomfortably.
O.Great old school pub food. Usually we spend more just getting takeaways so nice to have a nice warm roast cheaper than takeaways. Will be here once a week! Thanks

N. O.Its a hotel, a pub, and a carvery. We went for dinner and were well happy. Just wholesome pub food at a good price. Everything with chips, some with chips and salad, and they do a perfect roast dinner.
The staff were happy, engaging, friendly, and helpful.

V. N.Stopped at The Union for lunch on our way down south. We most enjoyed the True authentic kiwi pub experience. No pretence just great food, good portions and excellent southern hospitality. If Rosemary’s vegetable soup is available I strongly recommend it. The tap beer was cool and refreshing. Plenty of parking outside especially if in a camper. Sometimes it just pays to off the main track a little to find these gems! It’s definitely on our must do list if go back.

B.Not the flashiest but has the real west coast vibe and hospitality was first class the cooks wee Loud Brassy generous to our child and also knew how to cook. 5 stars if that is what you want if you want the shiny tourist experience with the food served in a bread board go to the so called brewery down the road if you want to warm your tummy with good food go here

W. H.I find the staff very helpful in the restaurant and the meals are very good and well priced. The only bad experience I have had is after travelling more than an hour to get there for lunch which is 12-2 they ran out of roast meat at 12.45
