Had a meal here while staying in town. All 4 of us cleaned our plates, was absolutely delicious! Steak cooked exactly as requested, very well presented and a good price. Staff were extremely professional and service was impeccable from arrival to leaving. Clean and tidy, also impressed with the crystal glasses and romantic setting. I would give more than 5 stars of I could!

Delightful service. Our very large group enjoyed the garden bar area for a lunch booking. Food arrived quicker than expected and all orders were correct. Dogs were no problem in that outdoor area. Setting is idyllic. Slightly pricy. Good range of food options for restricted diets.

We’ve stayed here plenty of times over the years. Our favourite hotel room is the Madison which is New York themed. Very spacious lots of windows and a balcony. Lots of improvements evident since Nick and Rosie took over. Keep up the great work and thanks to the team for another fab visit.

We booked the weekend package and spent 2 nights in the George Suite. Loved everything about our stay. The pan-fried John Dory plate I had in the Restaurant on the Saturday night was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Faultless. Friendly efficient service at all times. Have recommended to all our friends and will return. Thank you for our lovely weekend!!

A little overpriced for the food they serve and the service was a little all over the place. They struggled to get back round to our table after food was served. Paid $8 for starter bread and it was just toast and some butter, could use some dipping oils to flesh that out. We had a good waitress although she seemed a little overwhelmed with the numbers there. I will not be back given the choice I can try somewhere else.

Lovely outside area for drinking and dining in the sun. Our waitress was lovely. The food was fabulous and the cocktails hit the spot! Wasn't expensive which was great as Greytown can be a bit on the pricey side!

Definitely my favourite pub to come to in Greytown. There are an excellent selection of drinks and the picky food you can buy from here is delicious. Loads of seating areas and the staff are always really accommodating and attentive, I've been here several times and always find myself stopping by when passing through Greytown.

Nice place, good atmosphere. Dinner was great but they forgot a drink on the next round. We were given a dessert menu but they never came back around to take our order. We left in the end as it was getting late.

After a great day out at Queen Elizabeth Park and swimming ,we all went out for a nice dinner. The fresh fish and chips for $27 looked the one. But after 2 send backs, as they came back with only a bowl of chips ,instead of the replacement meal, (confusion during explanation by waitress)...that the the fish and 🍟 were old and dry! Waitress came back twice to ask if we needed anything...... but still didn't clear the dirty dishes away from the table with her. Not expected from what is touted as fine dining. Will reconsider options next time in Greytown. I didn't ask for anything off the meal.... but would of thought they'd have offered something.

Pub meals of average quality. Food was small serves after being in the Sth Island where the serving sizes were generous and prices cheaper. My meals were abit dry and took some time to get. Small menu choices too so the kitchen should have been able to produce the meals easily, so abit disappointing for the money spent. Great atmosphere, good wait staff, nice place to drink. Just needs to raise the bar food wise. Busy Greytown establishment, seems to be the main gathering/meeting spot.

Absolutely lovely building and location. Sadly the service is really poor. Their approach was 'functional' not 'friendly'. They could have said "sorry we don't take orders at the bar, but if you have a seat I will be right with you" Instead we got..."No bar orders at level 2". We asked for a glass to drink our bottle beer from, it was only just short of being thrown at the table, no "here you are" nothing. Pretty much the whole crew could do with some good customer service training.

Great hotel with a lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast of meusli croissant and orange juice available. Free parking around the back. Booking for evening meals recommended. Comfortable room street side, but a little noisy with traffic in the early morning.

I was well spoilt tonight with being surprised to a night here. One of the managers, Shannon, prepared a wonderful romantic, calm room for me/us to come into. Staff for checking in and meals have been fantastic. It is so grat that locals get treated so well ❤🌻🙂

The meal we had in the dining room was excellent. Panfried fish in a sprng onion broth. With spinach and ricotta balls. Everything on my plate was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. I had to ask for a spoon to finish every last drop of the broth! I want to go back and have it again! Simply exquisite!

The food was wonderful. It's hard to go wrong with anything on their menu. The meat is superbly cooked and the presentation is well crafted. And the customer service was effortless and welcoming. And you are looking to spend around $50 pp with a main, a side and potentially a drink to go along.

The beef and lamb mains we ordered were TOTALLY worth it. So the notable fails were quickly forgotten. But those who are looking for the whole experience might be less satisfied. As first-time visitors we found the initial service was non-existent. There were reasons for this but it wasn't obvious when neither the staff or the signage providing any direction to us. Our dessert order was also "lost". The accumulated delays meant we had one hour courses instead of 30 minutes per. No problem because we savoured our mains, conversed and wrote this review. Further fails were to run out of fish at 5.30pm and lack the not-so-sweet ciders I prefer. Anyway, 5/5 for the food. The flavours were simple but memorable. I had the eye fillet which was outshone by the potato gratin - it helps if you enjoy rosemary. Dessert was keenly anticipated and equally enjoyed: orange cake and eton mess.

What an excellent restaurant. Went there with the in laws on a Saturday night and while the restaurant was full, it wasn’t too loud. The dinner I had, the pork belly, was to die for. Soft and sweet, a beautiful house made sauce as well that almost had me licking the plate! The staff were so friendly, different people would come check in on us every 5-10 minutes to make sure everything was going smoothly. Will definitely come back in the future, and hopefully they will have some rooms available for accomodation at the time.

A fabulous winter stay at The White Swan. Extremely comfortable beds, warm rooms, friendly staff, open fires, the list goes on. Dinner was fabulous, the steak was cooked to perfection with a great wine selection.

We had a great dinner here again. The wine list is always good, though the 'house' wine idea is a little confusing, it's only because that house wine is in fact great local wine. The menu is great from the pork belly buns to the burgers, to the mains. I had the chocolate dessert, which was fantastically rich and perfect for one, not that I wanted to share. The service was friendly and efficient and the facilities are clean and tasteful. Really looking forward to coming back again.

Absolutely hands down the best burger I have ever had in a restaurant. Possibly even the best meal I have ever had in a restaurant. Service was fantastic. The only negative aspect of our experience was that I stupidly forgot to put our change in the tip jar! 😓 If any dining experience deserved tipping, this was it! Where to begin..... Firstly $250 a night for this place is not worth it... maybe back in 1990 but not on 2021! 1. Dated style, furniture ancient 2. Awful colour scheme - the mandarin room is like looking at vomit on the walls 3. No sky tv, cannot watch any sport in your room at the rate of $250 a week, you get this at the bloody quest apartments! 4. Shower is a awful, cracked tiles and can barely fit. Final opinion, if I had paid $99 to stay the night would have been 5 starts..... but at $250 it’s a blatant ripoff, when I spoke to the staff and mentioned I was going to give a bad review she replied “I would too” shows that even the staff realise the state of the place. The bar and restaurant are fantastic and where the highlight of the stay

Loved this place. Quaint place in a quaint town and not to far from Carterton. This place is such fun, dinner in the bar area (you need to book preferably before you arrive), is such fun so dynamic. Everyone seems to be there and there about 5 to 6 people taking orders and serving food and alcohol, then at about 8 pm the place empties out. So off to your room which are just fantastic. The main building has rooms that are all different e.g the red room or the green room. The rooms at the back of the hotel are spacious well presented and clean. We will definitely be back.

I cant rave enough about the White Swan. This is my chosen place while traveling for work. The room is always great and the food fab. Ashley was very attentive to diners and regularly checked to see if I needed anything. I believe it was Heather that has checked me in each time and her attention to detail and service is brilliant.

Great food and fantastic service. It was quite chilly and food did take awhile to arrive even though it was quiet. However the food was delicious. I had the beef and bacon burger and my friend had the seafood chowder. Good hearty, filling food. Would recommend.

We were initially greeted by friendly waitress when we first walked in the door do had high hopes for this place but ended up with disinterested male waiter who hadn't advised asparagus off the menu (few dishes with it on, be great if they had diff menus if they cook seasonally) so by time order taken suddenly had to reconsider. (Heard other waitress advising other customers of this straight away so would've been good if we had known this too). Fish chowder tasty- large portion, more soupy than a tick chowder but packed with seafood. Loaded fries actually tasty too, lots of cheese. When went to pay our waiter more interested in continuing conversion we another staff member and didn't even look or say anything as passed reciept while talking to other staff. Felt quite let down at being completed ignored. If service matched food would've been a lovely experience instead of feeling like an inconvenience to someone.

It was a lovely winter day in the Wairarapa when we visited this place for lunch which was perfect for us sitting outside. Nice placed in the middle of town for dinner in the afternoon sun. Only issue we had was with the drinks the waiter only asked one of us what we wanted and then when the drinks came they bought the wrong one. Food was good and in good time.

Nicely restored building turned into a hotel and restaurant and bar the drinks are a bit pricey though unlike the establishment across the road. This building was relocated to this location a number of years ago from the Hutt Railway Workshops in Woburn Lower Hutt used to be the main administration building .

Stayed in the Mandaren Room, was a little disappointed as the first thing i see is brown stains on the white quilt cover. The shower tiles are old and some tiles damaged and no bath plug. The room and bathroom are large, which is great and the bed very comfortable but no aircond just ceiling fan which is noisy to keep on when sleeping.
