Reviews of The Backyard Gastropub
T.Hadn't been back here for a few years but again, it didn’t disappoint. The outdoor area is always a fabulous spot, drinks were good but the guys mentioned service was slow, as staff busy sorting out their technology rather than serving customer first and sorting that later. Food was good, hot and tasty, and the waitress was absolutely lovely. Bathrooms very clean as always.
S.We have been here a few times over the summer, often with friends and family. The atmosphere is great, staff are friendly, outdoor dining area perfect for enjoying the live music and the food is awesome. A wonderful family owned and operated business.
R.I wish I'd discovered this place years ago. Great vibe. Lovely staff. Probably one of the best garden bars around with a relaxed vibe. Food was yum too. Will def be back.
C.Great food with generous portions, the cheeseburger homemade patties where a nice change.
The pub is a rustic local experience, my only negative feedback was the chairs where uncomfortable and design for practical pub environment.
If u are looking for good pub food, definitely recommended.
T.First off,
I'd love to say the establishment, service and the staff was absolutely amazing!!! There was a fast handling of drinks and had a very professional phone mannerism.
However, there were only two vegetarian options worthy of notice (not saying they were meant to be a 5 star Vegetarian cuisine provider) but the option we did opt for was pretty small. For $18, I basically got a handful and a half of food. Honestly could've gotten a lot more from other establishments for that price.
It does make me wonder what the more expensive options would look like.

L.One of the best bar and eateries in hamilton. Based out in whatawhata just off the main highway to raglan...this bar is a great stop off for a meal, or cv offer or both, for a cold beer while listening to the bands on a Sunday afternoon....great for a work function with bands from 6 til 10 on a Friday night ...or just to sit back and relax and enjoy the friendly atmosphere on a saturday afternoon...children are welcome and the staff are do very friendly and always have a smile...there is plenty of parking along with a one stop coffee and ice cream van out in the carpark...there is plenty of parking inside by the stage f.c or bikes and the prices are so very reasonable...the best little bar and eatery I highly recommend
