Stopped by for lunch while on the road. We were surprised by the quality of the burgers and baked goods. We ordered a pumpkin soup that was very spicy. When we didn't finish it, the manager made a point of apologizing, offering to add more coconut milk to cool it off and eventually refunded the price of the soup. I can't think of the last time we had such customer-centric service!

Slice of history, what a neat spot. Best coffee I've had in the South Island so far on this trip0. Outstanding team behind the counter. We've changed our return plans so we can visit again on the way home.

Stopped for a coffee and pie meal. I'm a picky eater and have to admit this was the best food so far on our NZ trip. They got the pastry perfect with a hearty filling. Also large portions. The coffee in NZ is commonly quite bitter but found this cafe the best tasting yet. Only $10 for both coffee and pie, it is also the best priced we have come across. Add in a great dining in experience where we could sit in couches and toys available for the kids, it was a wonderful experience.

Friendly greeting from the staff on arrival. Ordered the chicken and salad for lunch and it was delicious, would definitely recommend. Great coffee and all served with a smile.

Nice old restaurant located on the Invercargill- Queenstown highway. Serves different types of coffee and milk shakes at the restaurant. Ample parking space available. Public washroom located opposite side of the establishment.

Stopped for a coffee and a cake - best raspberry and white chocolate muffin I’ve had. Really great service, and a lovely stop to stretch your legs or sit in the gardens in the sun for a break on the road.

Great cafe with wonderful kiwi service. Pies are very yummy too! Young owner doing the place up. Great to see this iconic Southland pub and its local history being preserved.

Great atmosphere, very friendly down to earth real people staff. No hassles, made my stay very welcoming and pleasant. Alex is an awesome host and the food was excellent!

Small town, really small. Didn't enter the hotel, jus drop by the public toilet opposite it. And, the Hunny shop next door is quite good. Free tasting and good price.

Amazing cafe and bar locally owned and operated by Alex who makes all the delicious food himself. Seriously impressive iced coffee and incredible pies! Don't go past without stopping in!

Amazing coffee, hand crafted pies and delicious food. A must stop place if passing through Garston. Welcoming hosts and very child friendly. I highly reccommend a visit here.

Owners' son runs the cafe and he was super nice. Muffins were great and so was the free wifi!

Fabulous little place to pull over en route from Queenstown to Te Anua. Spotless and quaint. So well kept and histotical.

(Translated) Hotel and cafe are in the same building. Chicken curry is a full-fledged curry bowl and was very delicious. There are also beautiful toilets and bags on the other side of the road. Immediately behind is the point of the Mataura River, but the fish is quite nervous because it is easy to enter.
