Love this little local. Great atmosphere in a quirky old church. A must if visiting Manapouri. Their Blue Cod is legendary but this time we dined out on deep fried Camembert with crosscut fries and a bowl of loaded crosscut fries. Yummo!! Oh and they have a courtesy van if you need picking up and dropping off.

The Church Manapouri! Such an asset for the community...the menu is really good; the service is even better. Be sure to stop by after your cruise out in Doubtful Sound 😁

Wonderful bar and eatery. Great food and a homey atmosphere. A must visit if you are in the area.

Great spot for a feed or a drink. Or both! Great location in a church. Beautiful stained windows. There is also seating upstairs. Really attentive and friendly staff. It was order and pay at the counter but the lovely bartender came to our table. I had the beef schnitzel which was HUGE and delicious! It was perfect, really. Wife had the nachos which she reported as being excellent.

Very unique place. Wonderful service food plated great. Great selection of beverages. Steak burger had too much sauce on it,overpowering the star of the meal. Wife's meal was good. Fries very good. Scenery while sitting outside is phenomenal. Overall a good place to grab a bite after a day of sailing.

A seriously awesome pub and eateyy, we just came back from the most fantastic meal in a really great setting. Staff are lovely and the food was outstanding couldn't recommend it enough.

Cute idea to have a restaurant in a church. Great atmosphere. Bar looked good. French fries were okay. Halo burgher was awful with a slimy patty and was drowned in bbq sauce, as was the meat lovers pizza. The pepperoni was okay. The Halumi burgher was really not good. My partner had one bite. Service was fast. Prices are a bit high.

Best place I have come across so far for drinks and food regarding price, hospitality.. wish I discovered earlier .. hope to camp in area if I come back this way.. I'm traveling on a budget and like my rtds

Fancy place. Friendly stuff. Good variety of food. Went there on a Friday. Had to wait one hour for our dinner, but it was worth Thema waiting. The beef nachos were very good, and the chicken tenderloin also. Especially the fries were fantastic. You can either sit in or outside. Also Pool Table and Darts available.

Legendary service with heaps of character! One of the best small town pubs Ive visited in NZ. Cool atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating in an old church plus free wifi. Straightforward pub food, cold beers, and excellent donuts. Seriously, get the donuts.

Is a great place to take a family out for a meal. There was a nice choice and it was really nice. It had to be because the kids finished their meals... and they weren't kids meals😉

Great friendly service and good food. I wish I'd taken care of the tower of a burger that was delivered to me (a halo burger). Had a collection of toys for kids, darts and billiards for adults, and a good range of beers. Nice outdoor dining spaces and a cute setting.

Stopped by for a bite to eat after the Doubtful Sound boat tour. Not a huge selection of beer but the food was excellent. We had the chicken tenders and a Venison Burger. The place had a very cozy welcoming atmosphere and the staff was friendly.

Epic local pub. The bar staff were super friendly & generous. Halo burger was sumptuous. All round good time, must visit spot for dinner in Manapouri. Recommend staying at the nearby Possum Lodge!

Really nice and cozy place! Me and my friends stayed here during our roadtrip for some coffee and snacks. The coffee was delicious and we ordered a box of fries for only $6 NZD and the box was really big! The picture is taken after we already had eaten half of the fries up, so it was so worth the money. The staff was friendly and let us charge our phones the same time as we ate, really appreciated! (The restaurant right by the Church did not have any place for costumers to charge, so if you need to charge up I would go to The Church). Would recommend this place. 🤗

Old church converted to bar and restaurant. Menu is not huge but just what we wanted. Interesting place to eat in and food was good. They were busy so I expected to wait a while, but it arrived quite quickly. Staff seem very energetic, so maybe that's why. Friendly too. We eat here regularly.

Great to see this place under new ownership and really humming. Loved the sitting out area on the roof. Stopped for a quick bite. Falafel Bowl was really really good and the chips were lovely and crunchy with real aioli. Worth a visit just for the interior let alone the food. Would be even better if there was a range of craft beers, not just the usual Monteiths line up.

Recently had lunch (before Auckland Lockdown) here as we came across this charming restaurant/bar on a road trip South. What a find! We ended up having lovely chats to some friendly locals and a simply stunning lunch of blue cod which was cooked to perfection and delicious. Such great service, in a charming renovated old church - such a highlight of our trip. Will be back.

I didnt expect my schnitzel , chips n salad to be covered in lots of gravy . Gravy over a salad was a first Husbands pizza short on cheese & ham Staff and location very good

Stopped in during the early afternoon hoping for some lunch and the chef was kind enough to stay back and make us a steak sandwich. I don't normally like steak sandwiches but this was AMAZING - most tender steak sandwich I've ever had. The lady at the bar was also super friendly and the whole atmosphere was great. Hoping to one day get back!

We just came here after our wonderful trip on the Doubtful Sound Cruise. What a terrific place this is - we chose toasted sandwiches and they are the best we ever had. 👍

We stayed at Possum lodge camping ground over the last 2 days, long weekend and on both nights we came to the church for a few beers and some food. I can only describe this place as awesome the food was fantastic and the service was so very welcoming and the locals were a bloody good bunch of people, I would highly recommend you have a meal at this place. Thanks guys for making us so welcome and can't wait to come back again in the near future.

Yummy food, awesome service, cool atmosphere.

It's a popular place with the locals. Came here with some family who live in the area as we were visiting from overseas. The southland steak was amazing, great flavour and a really nice mushroom sauce. The half portions of blue cod was huge and also super tasty. Tasted fresh. Salads were also nice with a good dressing. There's a pool table as well which is a nice addition.

So so good! Had the fish burger and the donut holes with icecream and whipped cream. They have a great upstairs patio too.

This is a cute little restaurant located in the heart of Manapouri. We decided to stop for lunch after an overnight Doubtful Sound boat cruise. It was a great place to relax, have a beer and rest before making the drive up the island. The staff was friendly, and the building was great with outdoor and upper level porch seating.

I had the beef schnitzel and the meat was really bad and way too fried. fries and onion rings were good tho. my gf had the falafel bowl and and she had an insect in it. but she is not picky and ate it anyways and was happy with the taste (so they still have a problem with washing the salad as others already mentioned in the reviews). also they advertise the beer as a pint but what you get is neither an american nor a british pint. pretty missleading in my opinion.

Very cute. Nice indoor outdoor and upstairs dining and drinking. Dogs are allowed and fire is always on. Standard prices and bar food is good to.

Food was good but the place could use a good scrub... Cleaning tables after guests have left should be a priority! Pretty awful to be sitting looking at dirty plates left on tables while eating your meal.

I love church. I go here for Sunday prayers every weekend. The pastor here does a wonderful job at creating an inclusive environment.

Coffee? Perfect. Breakfast? Perfect. Fish and chips, beer, all perfect. Wanna step out and try the nachos? You better! Because they are the best this side of the globe and possibly the whole world. I like to ask for spicy and they are delicious! I literally can eat here everyday, it's that good. Enjoy and you're welcome =)

A great atmosphere awesome food cant go wrong

Treated myself to a birthday dinner at this beautiful place on a Friday night, lively atmosphere, music and laughter. I had the lamb pizza which was to die for. The lamb was pink (cooked to perfection), and very generous with the amount of meat, sweet chilli base, red onion, pepper, feta and yoghurt and mint sauce. A definite 5 star pub/restaurant and I will be recommending it to my friends and family.

Great spot to stop on your southern road trip. Ample servings and good drinks. A pool table to have a quick round.

Very good pizzas, warm atmosphere, nice setting, quite fun to eat in a Church. Unfortunately, the "sundae" was disappointing: ice cream was off and it was served in a plastic bowl... It is now called "The Church Bar and Eatery".

What an amazing spot to relax have a drink and enjoy some great food while taking in the incredible views on the deck.

A nice spot with good coffee.. when we went someone must have been downloading a large file on the wifi which caused us to not be able to use it you guys may want to add a speed or session limit to stop naughty customers stealing all the data
