M.This is a great place to stay. It's an old pub with a rich history. If you're into luxury, this isn't the place for you. However if you want some good old fashioned hospitality then look no further. Ray was very welcoming as were the other locals we bumped into.
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of staying in an old pub in a beautiful area. If you're like us, you normally just drive past places like this - I recommend that you stop a night and soak it all in.
And speaking of soaking, be sure to visit Ngawha springs just down the road.
J.I absolutely LOVED this place. The Owner , Ray , was very helpful and friendly and the vintage decor just awesomely charming. Has an amazing pub attached to it. You really feel like you are stepping back in time staying at this amazingly quirky old Hotel. Sitting out on the front deck just watching the sleepy village below was perfect. This was a very cool spot to break my journey from Cape Reinga to Kerikeri. Cheap place to stay at only 40nzd a night with super strong wifi. Built in the 1860s. amazing
C.6 of us stayed overnight while cycling Opua to Horeke. Couldn’t ask for more from Ray. Beer was cold, massive meal which most of us couldn’t finish. Rooms dated but clean and tidy. Locals friendly.👍
S.Ray was the most hospitable host we could have had. His cuisine was fab, tasty and nourishing to build our strength for the wonderful twin cycle trail. Thank you Ray, we will return.
S.This charming historic hotel is centrally located for the Northland cycling trail and its proximity to the Naptha thermal pools is an added bonus. Our accommodation as well as the shared facilities were clean and comfortable. Rae cooked us hearty dinners with heaps of vegetables . Rae was a charming host. Thank you Rae.

T.Beautiful Historic Hotel near my home here in the North. Im from Auckland and it was good to choose a historic hotel than a modern hotel. Gave a piece of home.
S.The is a great spot to stop and enjoy clean comfortable rooms, toasty hot showers, nice cold beer, separate dining area and yummy meals cooked and served by the lovely owner Ray! highly recommended - close to the authentic Ngawha hot pools, Kaikohe and KeriKeri - I'll be back!

Bâtiment historique intéressant. Ancien mais propre et confortable. Propriétaire Ray très sympa et serviable. Offre des citrons de son jardin.
Bonne base pour parcourir la région. Délicieux agneau, abondant, un plat pour deux suffit.
Salon type backpacker, on peut consommer son propre repas avec la vaisselle du pub !
