Pretty awesome place, the environment was really nice, and very cool too eat at a restaurant with a decent theme. It's clear that a lot of thought and time has gone into the styling. Had one of the craft beers there and it was incredibly nice, one if the better I've had. Pizza could have done with more toppings for the price but was incredibly nice.

Fantastic spot for pizza and polenta fries (the best we've tried since The Bicycle Thief closed!) - matched with one of the myriad craft beers available, great casual dinner! Props to the manager for politely enforcing their Lvl2 social distance restrictions.

Love coming here! I Every time I’m in Christchurch it’s worth a visit. Their range of craft beers is absolutely fantastic. If you’re a fan of the darker range, go grab yourself a Black Hole. I had several pints and can’t recommend it enough. The service is fantastic with the bartenders joking with out table. The pizza we had for dinner was superb and complements nicely with their beer. If you’re in Christchurch you should definitely head out to Lincoln for a craft beer and their amazing homemade pizza!

This is “The Lincoln Office” for all my important meetings. Great beer brewed on the premises. My two favourites are the nutty professor (brown ale) and the knee high (low alcohol IPA). Great snacks and pizza as well. P.S. I've seen some real groovy bands their recently. The Laboratory is my favourite pub in Christchurch. It feels like a proper pub inside. Quiet music in the background, the hubbub of conversation as friends enjoy excellent craft beer and wine. A true "local" with a warm logfire at it's heart. There is a wide and ever changing range of craft beer on tap, including traditional hand-pull cask beers. The food menu is a little limited but always delicious. If you visit, definitely check out the quirky upstairs mezzanine area.

Went for a Birthday lunch, had the 5 cheese pizza which was epic! Great service, wait staff are super friendly and helpful. Dessert was a chocolate mousse which I would definitely recommend. Great food, great people, great place. We will visit The Laboratory again.

Meet some people here for lunch, food was really nice, had one of there gluten free pizzas and the base was spot on. The decor is an interesting mix I assume it is a steam punk style, lots to look at. It has a nice outdoor area with toys for kids we had a one year old and they had a lot of blocks to keep her entertained which was nice.

Great place. Had a team farewell luncheon, staff were friendly and prompt and the food was good. Beer selection is good too and has a nice range. Recommended to large or small groups for sure.

An inpromptu visit to this Legendary "watering hole" following FAB day watching Polo at the Port Hills Polo Club. Stunning building & atmosphere, FABULOUS team, our food choice delivered promptly. Warm friendly service comes with a smile and personalised chat. Not overly fussed about Burgers or Pizza the chosen Burger a 20/10 experience. Likewise my Salmon Caesar Salad simply the best. This place is a WIN. Local (good) and not local crafted beers. It is decorated as a laboratory theme, which proves the name is not just a name, which makes the environment more enjoyable. The potatoes are well known for being very good and the bread as well. Gee, even the pizza is above everyone else in Christchurch!! Extremely recommended

Great food as usual. Started with the hand cut fries whilst we waited for the pizzas; Fungi, Spagnolo and Amante. Really good and with 3 large between 3 of us we had some to take home. With the single server, seated policy it meant we had a long wait to order, a long wait for drinks to arrive and then another long wait to order another round of drinks. It seemed to be pretty close to fully booked but a couple more staff could have made for a better experience. All in all, still a good night out, particularly in this Covid-19 world...

Good pizza, just don't go for the antipasto platter! With the vegetarian option ($19) you'll receive some store-bought crackers, around 4 slices of cheese, 2 pieces of garlic bread and some marinated olives. Given the amount of carbs padding out the dish, this was worth well below the price tag. What a disappointment, because the server was nice and came across as quite genuine. Oh well.

This is a really cool pub close by to Lincoln University. Has both indoor and outdoor seating with really cool decor including drinks being served in beakers. Pizzas were excellent just like the ribs which were delicious. The bar has an amazing range of beer, with the staff super helpful. Well done to all the Laboratory team!

Had a great evening and dinner with the family, great beer and pizza. Service was great made to feel very welcome. Couldn't have been better. Prefer to come earlier in the week when its a little quieter with the young one but a great atmosphere any night of the week.

The Lab takes care of it's patrons with the smallest of details that are so appreciated. With a lovely, well kept garden just outside the doors, it's a welcoming area to sit on the grass and enjoy one of their many quality craft beers, or have a few bites to eat at a table in the sunshine. For colder nights, they have blankets on offer, books, & vintage toys for families to keep their little ones entertained. With a menu focused on seasonal NZ produce, the pizzas are great to share with their fresh potato fries. The crispy chicken is a meal in itself, & if you aren't too full, there is dessert options both in sweet & liquid form to finish an evening out. I visit lab twice a year when I visit family with a good friend of mine, & it is always an unforgettable treat for my time away. 10 stars!

Awesome find. Lovely pub style restaurant with adjacent brewery that can also be visited. Excellent selection of beers of course, and scotch. Great thin crust pizza and nice smaller entrees, all at a reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the vicinity

Quirky atmosphere but lacking in customer service. The menu is limited to pizzas and some tapas style dishes. Our food order was taken quickly and the main items arrived in good time. Pizza was good with a nice thin base. Sadly, that's where the service stopped. We waited and waited for someone to return to take an order for more drinks, dessert and coffee. Staff were available but just not interested in checking on the customers. After walking up to the counter, our dessert order was taken. Note to staff: rinse juice pulp from glasses before putting through wash. Our glasses and plates were covered in dried pulp. They were replaced but shouldn't have made it to the tables in that condition.

Fabulous and fun Friday evening had here. The service was swift, attentive and accurate. Great, lively atmosphere with patrons and staff alike clearly enjoying themselves. There are a range of nooks and hidey spots as well as the large main room and courtyard. The eclectic mix of salvaged furniture, second hand plates and laboratory glassware adds to the fun. Clearly popular with all ages it was a nice touch to see a children's entertainer weaving through the throng. Pizzas are a strong suit. Cider on tap, oh and they brew beer apparently but that's not my thing! I have it on good authority though that there's plenty to taste and savour.

I really like this brewpub, can't think about any negative point ! Ambiance is awesome, the place is gorgeous, upstairs lounge so cool. staff are nice and knows about beer, more than 15 taps+handpump, among which 5 guest taps changing about every week, always good quality and rare stuff (from Garage project and Yestie boys, to small unknown brewery, but always amazing). Even the beer brewed on site are good, and there is new stuff time to time. The food is also good, though a bit expensive (but try the deep fried cauliflower !)

Disclaimer: this is our local, so I might be a little biased. I became addicted to craft beer a few years ago and have become fussy about what I drink. One thing is clear: these guys know how to craft beer. Crafting there brew out back and always experimenting so a new brew pops up in the menu ever now and again, so there is always something new and interesting to try. If you feel like you need something to eat with your pint, the pizza is awesome, can't go wrong with the chips. A nice selection of tapas are also on offer.
