First time here and was great service the waiter and waitress were awesome but the choices of food wasn't that great. But can say we stayed to test it out. My Husband had the eye fillet main with extra side dish, and I had the Spinach ravioli salad for my main. My Husband said his steak was tough, my salad was soaked with too much sauce couldn't taste the spinach etc the sauce was over powering. Oysters were sooooooo Devine❤. Expensive yes but in the Hospitality industry nowadays I do appreciate the effort they put into their business. We would come back again only because your drinks and Hospitality was Great 👍 👌 🙂

A great dining experience. The staff were attentive and very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. I had the wagu beef cheeseburger and chips on a brioche bun. Really tasty. The thick cut chips were perfect. Also had the chicken pate. Really nice. It was a really nice atmosphere too. After another visit we had the striploin steak, eye fillet steak, hummus and chips

FABULOUS! Our son turned 15yrs and he chose The Victoria Tavern for dinner. Everything was lovely - from the staff, to the meal, to the drinks. Can't fault a thing. Thanks for a wonderful evening 😊

Lovely quiet atmosphere so you could hear people talking, staff very helpful and friendly. They helped us find extra chairs for our table. There was a great selection to choose from the menu and everyone enjoyed their meals.

Service is usually really good! We're after work regulars. A seasonal change in menu and some less salty/more healthy options would be great. And I understand masks are hard and hot, but a general understanding of mask etiquette and for all staff should be shared.

Went here for dinner with some work colleagues. A little on the pricier side by the time you add your sides, but one of the best steaks I have had in a while. The ribeye was fantastic. Service was good also, waitress pleasant, food came out in good time. Would def go back.

Had lunch with my hubby and in-laws , staff were very friendly and my chicken salad it’s first time I could give 10/10 compare with many restaurants I have tried . I would thought salad it’s very board dish yet It’s perfect cooked .I also had bite my hubby’s burger were very nice too . the plant hanging around looks fake yet I have hay fever don’t mind it’s fake ! Next time I will come to try 3 days steak and oyster !

Service and food was great apart from the pasta, that was extremely average. Going back to try the steak though, especially since my partner injoyed his so much, he ate 3 of them..... 2 weeks later. Been back again and ordered the eye fillet med rare. Was the best eye fillet I've had in years and used a butter knife to cut it. You've got that bang on. Don't often order onion rings but they were also bang on and the chilli mayo topped it off. The cauliflower steaks were ordered aswell and I was surprised how good they were. Will definitely recommend. Partner has fillet steak excellent. Kids had Mac and cheese and I'd definitely order that especially with the parmesan cheese.

First time inside the doors had a really nice meal and we had a cider and a dark beer both drinks were old nice and the staff really friendly and hopeful and smiles will call again and the Tavern lovely and clean if you are in Petone stop and Check it out your self well worth it

This place we love, the meals are amazing ..... The Cheeseburger is my fave .... The Oysters (I prefer raw) were sweet and tender .... the steak was cooked to perfection, never had a bad meal or experience here. I did want to also say that the staff make this place, always happy, always chatty and always keen to help. See you all again soon :)

Not the first time we've dined here, and it won't be the last. The food has generally been average at best, but this time around it was great. The bar area has a good atmosphere too, Highly recommended as a Place to stop in for a drink, or as a final destination with a meal and drinks

What pleasant surprise. Went to go to Sprig and Fern but unable to get in. So went to The Vic and loved it. Service excellent. But the unexpected surprise was the food-awesome The homemade pate and hummus I can't wait to go back for more. A big new plus for Petone

Always like th food that is brought to my table. The staff were very attentive. If they saw an empty glass they asked if you would like another. Food came out quickly considering it was moderately busy when we were in. They food was well made and presented. Dessert was excellent. Not the best range but luckily they had what I liked. Not to badly priced a little on the more expensive side then some other places but no complaints

Staff were friendly and tentative. Had some amazing oysters, pretty good hummus and an alright pork special (was a little over done and crackling was bitter/burnt). Would absolutely go back though.

Fantastic! A couple of friends and I met for the champagne special at 5pm, went to a restaurant down the road (pre-booked, sadly) for a frankly pretty average meal and came back to the Vic for dessert. The Chocolate Marquise and Banana Cheesecake were both absolutely delicious, as were a couple more bottles of wine to wash them down. Really friendly service from happy staff, clean toilets and a nice bunch of customers. 5 stars from me! We will be back.

Loved it!! Been there several times and always enjoyed it. I recommended it to my family and we went there to enjoy my grandparents 66th wedding anniversary. Am glad to say, the family enjoyed it as much as we always have.

We were very impressed with the overall atmosphere of Victoria Tavern and the place was bustling. Decor was very Charley Noble-esque, which I can appreciate. It was just a shame that the standard of the food wasn’t up to scratch. I ordered the beef Ragu, which was presented spectacularly, however the chef may have failed to taste test the gravy, the salt content was gargantuan. It was the first time I’ve ever not been able to not finish a meal not due to being full but rather because it was was rich and salty, I physically couldn’t finish it. The overly salty trend was unanimous amongst the 7 of my other dinner guests, with special mention for the Caesar salad and coleslaw served with the beer battered fish and chips. Unfortunate really because we had such high hopes from the quantity of dwellers in the place.

My family, friends and I had the most delicious and enjoyable lunch here today, the decor is really stylish, welcoming and spacious. The food was delicious and the service superb! We highly recommend and will frequent The Vic!

Highly recommend the Vic me n my brother went there for dinner. Ordered the pork chop meal and it looked great, tasted amazing, and was a nice amount. Service was with a smile, nice clean and modern decor. Nga mihi!

A group of 6 dining last night. All wanting the advertised Sunday Special - Roast Sirloin of Beef. Seated about 6 pm, and told the roast meal had sold out. There were few diners in the tavern. Not a good impression. Had some of our group not had relatively poor mobility we would have left. Lots of good eating places available close by.

Very nice casual dining restaurant. Right in the heart of petone so it can be a little bit difficult to find parks at times but on our visit this time, two vehicles both got parks within a minute's walk from the restaurant. If you want good standard Kiwi fare you won't go past the Vic.

Walked in open and spacious, warmly greeted and taken to table. I was advised that bookings are recommended during busy dinner period. About 10 off street parks out the back and also 1 wheelchair park otherwise there is parking on the main road out front. Note entrance, some tables and facilities are wheelchair friendly. There are highchairs and a kids menu if dinning as a family with little ones. Main menu and drinks menu available. Note they have alcoholic options (beer, wine, cocktails and spirits), as well as non-alcoholic menu. There is some outdoor seating available out front. Service is genuine, friendly and professional, delivery times were fast from the kitchen no real delays. My pork chop was amazing, perfectly cooked. I would definitely recommend this place for a family meal or a meal with mates. I'm going back next week.
