R. B.We had a lovely Christmas eve dinner here. The pizza was delicious and the wine selection was fab! It's a really nice atmosphere, looking over the harbour/sea if you're sat outside or getting some protection from the wind inside. Would definitely go back again.
M. W.Such a lovely spot in an idyllic setting in Māpua. An extensive selection of wines, and the lady behind the bar knew her stuff! There was only bar service when we went, maybe due to difficulties finding staff which seemed prevalent with a lot of places at the time. We'd heard the flat bread was really good, but turned out to be the kind yoi could buy from the supermarket which was disappointing. But again, perhaps this was a result of lack of staff? The vibe was ok, some nice outdoor seating. Had the makings of a really great place, but we got the feeling we'd visited when they were sailing half mast.
H. W.Came here for a few drinks before dinner and ended up circling back because the pub was closed. Had a tasting tree which is a great way to sample 5 wines. Went on to another variety for a glass and was offered a taste before committing to the glass which was a lovely bonus. Later bought a bottle to take home and got a discount from the tasting tree. We came back and ordered take away pizzas (as the little one had to get to bed) which took over 30 mins, this was a let down from an otherwise great experience.

M. O.We love Rimu Grove Cellar Door!
We had a little reunion with the Mahana crew (formerly Woollaston Estates Winery) there on a Sunday afternoon. It is such a casual, warm, and welcoming atmosphere with great pizza and, of course, wonderful wines, beers, and even some spirits to try.
I had a rum that was excellent!
We even ran into the owners Patrick and Barbara. They are lovely people and make you feel like they are hosting you in their home.
100% recommend and will be back!

T. H.Shared a pizza outside on a hot day with a bottle of the Rimu Grove Pinot Noir 2014. Place is better than some of the neighboring establishments and pizza was OK. Probably the best of the waterfront establishments around Mapua Wharf area.
L. M.Excellent and varied wine list specialising in NZ wines. The bar has a lovely interior and a log burner, nicely lit and always good background music. Definitely worth a visit if you love wine. The pizzas are great too.

Pizzas available plus you can bring fish & chips from across the lane to enjoy over a glass. Great concept with very knowledgeable staff. We always visit when in the area.

D. L.We had a great experience on a rainy day in Mapua. Tasting trees were excellent, cheese board was huge, and staff were friendly and ready to answer any questions we had (but also let us eat/drink at our own pace in the lounge area, which we appreciated). Wines were delicious!
E.Our group of 4 had a wonderful experience here. We were given the choice to be inside our out, we chose to be out and enjoyed the great views. We tasted I think 7 wines, and were left to enjoy each of them, without being rushed. The lady serving us was friendly and knowledgable. The tasting fee was waived when we purchased a bottle per couple. It was our second time, and will gladly return the next time we’re in the area, a real boutique experience, without the queues and coach loads.

S. S.Lovely staff here with a fantastic set of wine choices. Featured are some local favourites that you only get in this area. To top it off you can enjoy a well made pizza or platter here to enjoy with your wine.
B. P.How good is this. An impressive selection of wines and fish and chips. No they don't sell the fish and chips just the wine but you can order your chips etc over the road and eat at Rimu. Pretty cool. For me the Brackenbrook Sauvignon is perfect. For my wife the Moutere Hills sauv is the ideal complement
L.Perfect for having a drink and and a pizza whist soaking up the atmosphere of Mapua. They are happy for you bring food from other places to eat whist enjoying a glass of their wine. Kid free bar for people wanting a little more piece and quiet.

A. W.What can I say, great to be back in Mapua at Rimu. The wine selection is second to none in Nelson area and we were lucky enough to enjoy live music on Saturday. Great pizzas and now you can also order food from adjacent Jellyfish at a dedicated Rimu menu. Thanks Patrick, Barbara and staff

C. D.Good food but the waiter was unbelievably pretentious. Asked for a house red and the response ‘we don’t do a house red, we’re a wine bar’ was one of many condescending sentences from him. Really dampened the evening. If you don’t care about how polite people are, this is the place for you.
