C.Quinoa bowl has heaps of broadbeans, but the sauce given is too little and have to add lots of salt after to taste... Flavour is OK
s.Fast service, chewy pork and a tasteless burger :( been here many times before and loved it but sadly quality and love has dried up we will try again as this is the first average meal we have received from the blue pub
K.Cool vibe place. North facing with outdoor seating. Staff a bit stressed as level 2. Hard rules with no one at the bar to order but then have to go to bar to pay. Didn't have food.

J.We never visit Methven without a night at the Blue Pub. Had a night there last Saturday and was really pleased you have done away with the door charge and had the usual fabulous band! We also made the use of the next door function room for an 18th birthday party so handy to head straight next door afterwards.
Function room was great as we came through from Christchurch, everything was looked after and people were well fed!
M.Cool place! Really nice and warm atmosphere. Friendly staff. Not bad мulled wine (the best one we had on the Mount Hutt after skiing in their cafe 😁). So I can recommend this pub! 👍

L.My favorite thing about the Blue Pub is the friendly staff. The wedges we got to share were fantastic too. If you are visiting Methven I highly recommend visiting the Blue Pub for a drink, a meal or both. Especially if it's a nice day and you can sit outside.

I was kicked out of this establishment for intoxication levels and antics not seen before in the sacred Blue pub, The buggers were so nice they welcomed me back in almost immediately. The crown jewel of Methven.

C.Its a pub. Exactly what you expect. Clean sheets, hot showers and a lively pub with great atmosphere downstairs. Staff are great - helpful from the start. Its a cheap and cheerful choice - don't expect a 5 star accommodation when you are paying 2 star prices. I'll be returning next year.

M.Amazing food, we had the Wedges with Meat Lovers Pizza and we all really enjoyed it! Good atmosphere, polite bar workers and the pub decor looks great too! Will happily go again sometime soon! Only complaint would be food is a lil pricey, but other than that, highly recommend this place for a beer/meal!

V.We stopped in for lunch today. The staff were amazingly friendly, especially the waitress, who came over and started chatting with us about work/uni/politics. The food was EPIC. It is really tasty and absolutely massive in portion sizes (it took 3 of us to eat a side of fries). The bar has a really nice feel to it and it was very quite while we were there. It was really not at all what we expected from a so called "pub" and we are all keen to visit again.

A.Nice central location. Good price and staff friendly and helpful. A bit dated looking but perfectly fine for me and my brothers travelling on the lions rugby tour. I would stay again if I was wanting to ski at mount hut. Ski rental and transfer bus can be arranged in the buildings next door. Very handy location.

P.Was there on one of the busiest days of the season - Oz and NZ School hols, ski season and a big all blacks game. The restaurant didn't have an empty table when we left, yet the staff service was great down to coloring in for the kids. we enjoyed the burgers and they were always there when you wanted another drink or serviette even.
R.Really great place to go. I would highly recommend going to this place, there is awesome service and great food/drinks. I had the Wild Game Burger and a burger i got. A mighty feast that i loved every bite of. Place has a good community vibe about. Highly recommend.
S.Very quiet midweek night in the pub, arrived just as they closing up, but still managed to get a drink before going to our room - a bunk bed arrangement - a bit worn, but still comfortable. No water supply to the sink in the room. We just wanted a bed for the night, and that is what we got for a reasonable price; communal bathroom and kitchen - no frills, just good, solid accommodation.

S.Been there for a few light lunches and always good but went for a dinner for a birthday and wouldn't do dinner there again, too basic and just bar staff service, they charge for mayonnaise, there was no sauces on the plate so asked for some presuming they had forgot, not great 😮

N.Great place for a beer. The accommodation is clean and good value. It is very noisy unfortunately due to the building being old (creaky floor and noisy doors) and all rooms being centred around the kitchen.

M.We we a group of 4 seated at a table for lunch. Menu sounded very nice, our food and side sauce choices, we found quite bland for us. The food was cooked nicely.
The service was great. Our food server was a great guy. He forgot to put thru an order for a dish. He was really apologetic. We didn't mind, these things happen. He got it sorted and out to us. Was extremely noisy with a roudy large group right beside us to the point we couldn't hear ourselves talking but at same time, hey I realize we were in a pub.
