The Sands. My Family have made this our regular Breakfast Stop if we're in Nelson for more than a day. Excellent Food, Great Coffee an again Staff are Friendly, Polite an Professional. The Ladies are especially welcoming to my Elderly Mother who the Staff are only too happy to help with her something that I take note of and I quietly praise them and if I can I will tip as well. JUST A SIDE NOTE: (A Cafè/Bar or Restaurant could have the Best, Tastiest Food in the Country! But if the Staff even just one Staff member Disrespects an Elderly Person or any Person in my Presence or is rude an just not want to be standing there serving me because they're hungover or feeling poorly then Fake It!!!! Because I will call you out on your Attitude or Disrespect! Because I am that Girl, who will stand up for those who can't find their voice and also put on a smile 😃 You want too make your Customers feel like they matter too you! So you will bend over backwards to make sure they have an enjoyable experience) Some Staff I've encountered over the years makes me wonder why the hell they're in a 'Service Industry' well I know why really it boils down too money. Unfortunately we all need it too survive. Too the Sands Manager/Owner your Staff are excellent not one bad word too say. Keep up the good work an I look forward to visiting again soon. 😁👍

Food is amazing. The owner Phil is a bit of humour. Very nice Pokie room. The staff were incredible. The main bar manager is a good man. Music was fantastic although the singer on the music video seemed to be out of sync with the actual sound.

Went for a walk down Tahuna beach with the dog then came here as they are dog friendly. The first to get a drink served was the dog which was great. I had a cooked breakfast minus the toast and potato as I am low carb. They seemed to have added extra everything else so had a good plateful. My partner had roast vege salad. Had an interesting nice dressing on it. She thought the dressing was chilli but not too hot. With a wine and a lemonade (yes I know carbs) was around $60. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will be back.

Great little place the other side of the road to Tahunanui beach. Friendly staff, good selection of beers and generously sized portions of food. Just don't do spare ribs if you've got a beard - the sauce gets everywhere!

Great breakfast at reasonable price. Good environment. Food qualify was excellent once it arrived (they'd run out of bacon and had to wait for it to be picked up by one of the staff) Main problem was with the service which was a bit disorganized. One waitress took the drinks order (then promptly forgot my latte which I waited nearly 30 minutes for before having to ask the waiter that took our food order). In summary: great food and drinks (once they arrive). Environment is good being right across from the beach. Service needs improvement.

Good food at affordable prices, however, we were the first people for the day to order food and I found that two things can be improved on: 1. The poached eggs were hard boiled rather than being runny. Would suggest that eggs benedict are done with runny eggs, unless specified by the customer that they want hard boiled eggs. 2. The avocado was already pre-made with red onion in it and was unable to be taken out - this means that the avocado was prepped in advance., which is not a bad thing however suggest that the avocado and red onion are kept separate until ready to serve.

Pleasant atmosphere and staff and could have a smoke outside in place with a view but food pricey. Limited cheaper options. I had big Brekky and my and sister had fish and chips. After waiting about 30 minutes and we only one of a couple ordering food... eggs were way overcooked as was the pizza base. Fish and chips were great though.

Delicious garlic bread probably the best ive ever had and yum chicken and mushroom sandwich for lunch. The seasoning on the chips made them even better too only feedback would be to cook the fries for a little longer as they were a bit underdone 🙂

We had an excellent Friday night watching the rugby. Fantastic staff gave service with a smile and the food was delicious. Scallops and prawns was an awesome starter followed by Fish & chips, salmon and the chicken stack all cooked to perfection! We will definitely return next time I'm in Nelson
